  1. We just came back from a month in Singapore. We stay at the Swissotel, adjoining the Fairmont. It is an excellent location next to City Hall MRT station and a huge shopping mall with lots of eating venues. The Fairmont shares its two outdoor pools and spa with the Swissotel. We loved the views from our hotel room looking out to Marina Bay. The Pan Pacific is further east and there's lot of construction in that area right now so I'd avoid a stay there.
  2. Three out of four of us tested positive on our Alaska cruise in the first week of May. It's been 64 days and still no sign of a refund and no-one is replying to emails. How long are you typically waiting for pro-rated refunds? We are getting refunded for the days we missed, not for hotel expenses since we isolated at home.
  3. You are correct. We got COVID on our Alaska cruise a few weeks ago. Even though I had been in isolation 3 days on the ship, I had to start a 10 day isolation once I disembarked in Canada. I received a call from the government asking when I got COVID and how I got home. I had to isolate for 10 days. Three of us got COVID and two of us received phone calls. I expect they didn't call my husband because we live together. I received an email reminding me to stay in isolation on day 7. If I was asked to get another test on day 8, I had to do so. Failure to complete the step could result in a $5,000 fine.
  4. I'm booked with Cunard in July. My husband and I are in our 60s. I had just a sore throat and cough. My husband had the sore throat, cough and fever. The fever of 102 F lasted two days. The sore throat was a bit stubborn to leave but we're fully recovered now.
  5. We chose Alaska for this reason. No flight, no hotel, and if we got COVID, we could isolate at home. We won't be booking another cruise for a while. We waiting to see how cruising and COVID progresses.
  6. Like you, we're been strict about mask wearing and not eating out in two years. I felt I caught COVID in Sitka and missed half my cruise. At least you got you see all your ports. The majority of COVID cases on my cruise tested positive the night before disembarkation. I have to wonder how many leave the ship and test positive at the airport before trying to fly home. Even though I'm still recovering from COVID, I'm not afraid to cruise again. In fact, we're booked on another Alaska cruise in July.
