  1. Maleth flight this morning from Manchester to Antigua. Cancelled. Rescheduled for 8pm tonight.
  2. Maleth on time this weekend but Tui out of Gatwick and returning to Manchester over three hour delays. Crazy scheduling yesterday.
  3. There are different grades? We had an offer to upgrade our aft suite on Britannia. Declined but got upgraded to mid suite anyway
  4. I wont bore you with the details, but I worked on the package travel regulations specifically liability in the area of transportation all those years ago. Since the introduction of the legislation many areas of it have as was expected been challenged in court with interesting results. Huzar v Jet2 was certainly an eye opener and has changed the thinking of many. in respect of Maleth a rough calculation of liability based on say 300 seats and the incidents that spring to mind could result in claims of over £1.5 million if not more. I don’t think Maleth will get out of the liability and I don’t think they will walk away from operating in the uk in future which could be the ultimate sanction by the CAA many years from now. I expect them to have a very very small department to handle these claims. I expect them to be overwhelmed as they focus on day to day operations. No question in recent weeks they have been more reliable than Tui. I think Maleth WILL pay as future customers of theirs, namely tour operators, cruise operators and other airlines won’t want the liability ultimately passing to them. certainly p&o need to put pressure on Maleth and that will I think be an option to speed matters up.
  5. Tui had weather related delays yesterday. The inbound Bristol flight from Bridgetown diverted to Birmingham. This had a knock on impact on the Manchester departures which had one running three hours behind schedule. Maleth on the other hand operated all flights on schedule this weekend with most actually landing ahead of schedule.
  6. No airline plans to operate this way but last winter TUI had no end of problems themselves. Tui actually have two aircraft with issues at present and are sub contracting to Norse on their Singapore service. Tui had a three hour delay out of Manchester and downgraded passengers from premium to economy. Maleth issues seem to be that given the size and limited scope of their operation when they have an issue they don't have the back up crews to step in as Tui and others do.
  7. A bit naughty by Maleth. Rather than show a delay they have “rescheduled” the flight so that those looking can’t see any issue. Should have left at 10:30 at least Eu261 should pay €600 each!!
  8. Flight radar is showing all Maleth flights today (Saturday) pretty much on time leaving the uk MLT 1103 LGW -Antigua due 20:17 32 min delay MLT 1105 MAN -Antigua arrived 14:25 14 minutes early TUI have a long delay on the 11;35 Manchester to Barbados flight. This left over three hours late today. Due in at 16:20 now due at 19:15 there may be other flights but they’re not showing anywhere.
  9. We have an aft suite booked for the Caribbean this February on a saver fare. Our offer to upgrade to a mid aft is minimum £290 each. I can’t see the value in that at all or is there?
  10. That’s the same with any airline anywhere in the world however as tui have a certain leeway in their fleet utilisation and crew bases the reality is if your booked Tui flight has a problem you’re Moore than likely to remain with Tui. Book on a Maleth operated flight and reality is it will be Maleth no matter what.
  11. We booked in October 23 for February 24. We booked Tui premium and got four seats in Tui premium so it was still possible to get it at that stage.
  12. No. It’s only a short journey to the port. Use the aircraft toilets after landing before disembarking
  13. Are you on a Tui or Maleth flight? If so you go straight to to the ship. If you are flying with another airline then these are not “bonded” flights and do the process is you go through arrivals as other passengers on the flight
  14. The local BBC news has just reported that the Virgin Flight to Barbados had to return to Manchester this afternoon. The flight left at just after 1pm nearly got as far as Dublin then returned an hour later. No news on its replacement but Virgin obviously have greater resources to hand unlike Maleth.
  15. Really enjoyed it on Arvia. La voix was excellent. Very clever interaction with the audience. Food was very good.
  16. Have a look at San Carlo in T2 full breakfast and a bottle of champagne for less than lounge access. The lounges aren’t good value anymore. Too many people allowed in. I’m not even trying my credit card lounge. Pointless.
  17. We flew TUI premium from Manchester last winter. As others stated no lounge access. We booked 1903 but the seats were poor in there. It’s nearly £50 each this time. We are travelling with friends again in premium but will go to a nice restaurant in T2 and have a better experience. check in was very quick at premium desks with staff directing us ahead of other passengers. Fast track was good. As we have reserved seats etc will check in around 2hr 45 before. Our flight is the late morning one after the madness of T2 earlier departures.
  18. You get that still. With Tui premium. Ok not BA CLUB or FIRST but the supplement is worth every penny
  19. Turbulence doesn’t discriminate between airlines. Clear air turbulence incidents which this almost certainly is are on the rise. Many blame it on climate change but the aircraft diverted safely. any airline would have struggled on Christmas Eve to find a replacement aircraft and crew to fly out. That’s the only criticism if any that can be levelled at Maleth. There will be the inevitable headlines of no information, stranded in a resort etc etc
  20. The aircraft is still in Bermuda. Crew way out of hours before anything else that might impact its return to Manchester.
  21. Updated to say the aircraft is due to leave Bermuda shortly with an arrival time of 12:45 into Manchester. Looks like a medical diversion that can happen to any airline. A long journey home but hopefully all safe and home for Christmas.
  22. The overnight Maleth Barbados to Manchester flight has diverted to Bermuda for unknown reasons. The aircraft departed an hour behind schedule at 20:00 and after flying for approximately 2 1/2 hours then diverted. No arrival time into the uk as of yet. Hoping it wasn’t a medical issue onboard and that all get home in time for Christmas.
  23. They haven’t. It’s not boarding. The schedule shows the inbound aircraft that’s just arrived 26 minutes ago as going to operate the Antigua flight. Mcr airport website is notoriously inaccurate. There are more accurate sources of data.
  24. The normal Maleth A330 is 9H-MFS. This landed in Manchester 6 days ago at 06:06 on Monday and hasn’t moved since. It’s still needing maintenance. the Gatwick based aircraft 9H-BFS finally got off the ground today to Antigua with a 2 1/2 hr delay.
  25. That’s rescheduled for 17:00 but with a provisional departure currently of 17:20 which is optimistic as the inbound aircraft 9H-EFS which is operating the Antigua service is still on its way into Manchester. scheduled arrival into Antigua 21:11. The return flight from Antigua is scheduled for 01:50
