Part 2? :)
-
I booked a four person room for two people on the Splendor. They did not move me. This was in October 2013.
-
I personally would do a set time dining and let the staff and your table mates know ahead of time you won't be attending certain nights.
-
I used FTTF on the Splendor in October 2013. Our room was NOT ready when we boarded. It was ready about 2 hours after that. Oh well. It wasn't that big of a deal. We still bought FTTF again for this April's cruise.

Hi Fellow Cruisers!
...I see plenty of cabins left in the same category that I was assigned, including some nice mid ship rooms. I called Carnival but they said I cannot change rooms within the category at the price paid because I booked a guarantee. I would have to pay more to "upgrade" and I would also lose shipboard credit that is included in my original booking....
Thank you so much! :)
Well thanks for posting this. I too booked a guarantee OV room on the Splendor. My room is fine for the price I paid. I was actually going to call however and pay the extra for an upgrade to a balcony but I didn't know they took away the onboard credit we got while booking :( That stinks. Thanks again for posting this info!

Were there any people who attended the brunch that didn't have kids?
-
If you wish something that is not on the menu, like a bowl of soup, can it be ordered?
thanks
I'd like to know too:confused:

Its on the Splendor. My favorite dessert. Best creme brûlée ever.
-
Its so funny how peoples views are different...
I personally thought it was pretty bad. It was very thin and kinda cheap tasting. Glad I didn't have to pay extra for it!
-
what about the serenity deck jacuzzis?? NO kids even allowed in that area!!!
Lol, I wish. The serenity deck on the Splendor has no water anywhere on it. Just the mini golf course above you.
-
Yes there was a man overboard alert and we had to go to our cabins. The ship doubled back but it was a false alarm.

Thank you so much for updating us while you're on the cruise. I hope everything turns out ok for you in the end!
-
Lol. Eating is the only thing you can do really. Theres not much else going on.
-
Yea, I booked it because of the rate. Had nothing to do with the ship. :( Oh well.
-
If I pay the upgrade price of $125 per person, will Carnival take away the onboard credit of $100 I received when booking?
-
We brought a six pack of coke off the ship in GT, then bought a liter of rum in port, walked to the RIGHT from the end of the pier a 1/2 mile or so to the point, spread out a couple of towels and got hammered. So yes, it can be done.
Sounds like an amazing time :) I never thought to do this!
-
Ooo thanks! $5 is super cheap. Post your pics if you're able to. I would love to see it.
-
Yea, I heard that too actually but I feel like if we googled it something would come up and nothing.

For those who just got off the Splendor- Was the Seuss brunch every day or just on sea days? Do they still do Sea Day brunch at all? I really enjoyed that. How much extra did it cost to do the Seuss brunch?

Any updates?
The webcam shows the pool open. Although its been looking kinda dead for the past few hours. Maybe too cold?
-
I noticed the pool on the web cam was closed Friday and Saturday. Did they give a reason why? I leave April 2nd. Hope everything is ok by then.
-
Thanks for posting. I was looking at the webcam and the midship pool on the lido had been closed the past 2 days. I leave April 2nd. Hope everything is ok by then.

I made the mistake on my last cruise of not getting a few bottles of liquor at that gift shop you walk through in Grand Turk. Prices were about the same in Nassau as to what I pay in upstate NY. I'm going on another cruise, but won't be stopping in Grand Turk. So what about Freeport? Is it wicked cheap like Grand Turk?
-
Very helpful!! Thank you!!
I will print this info and put in my travel folder.
Michelle
How did this go for you? Any problems or tips? I too will be getting off the ship at 7am if all goes well. What time did the first shuttle come?
-
When I booked through an early saver I had a reduced deposit. I found a cheaper rate and did not have to pay the deposit. My deposit was around $300 at the time, so I'm not sure if these rules would still apply for you.
What is your favorite cruise port to leave from??
