  1. Technologically it's not impossible. It'd actually be fairly trivial assuming their system isn't from the stone age (although that's definitely not a safe assumption). But do I think the NCL of right now can implement that? I'm very doubtful.
  2. I don't know how that would even work. Not to say it's impossible, but based on what I know about NCL, I'm pretty sure they lied to you. The way it works now, if you don't show your card, you get charged. They're trying to say they figured out a way to make some secret list that noone knows about that will automatically comp your drinks in the casino, but only if you are specifically booked under a land casino's reservation?
  3. Is this implying that you get priority embarkation for Casinos at Sea? I have an upcoming cruise on the Breakaway but I thought NCL basically no longer did this for Casinos at Sea guests? How did you get it? Are there signs at the port?
  4. They told you wrong or you misunderstood. The admin fee is IN ADDITION TO port fees and taxes. Also, in my experience port fees and taxes are generally more expensive on NCL than other cruise lines but I am not sure if that's across the board or just weird quirks of the cruises I've taken. Honestly I'd be more okay with the admin fee that they charge if they had insane offers for their casino players. Why is carnival basically letting you sit on their board if you put $20 in a slot machine and NCL trying to get you to wait tables at American Diner just to get the privilege of paying a $20/day admin fee.
  5. Awesome, thanks! You definitely sound like you're familiar with the subject 😊 Last I heard it was 2/5 no limit, but that was several years ago. Best of luck if you play!
  6. If anyone in your party happens to go through the casino, can they see if the Breakaway offers player vs player Texas Hold' Em poker cash games (not the player vs. casino pit game Ultimate Texas Hold' Em)? I've heard mixed things and someone on one of my future trips is an avid player. Hope y'all enjoy your trip!
  7. I've seen plenty of casino walkthroughs online, but I don't want anyone to get in trouble. I've done videos while the casino was closed (either when I first get on a ship or before it opens).
  8. If you feel like taking a video of all the slot machines, I would for sure watch the entire thing I play a lot of stuff but I'm a bit picky. I'll be on the ship in the coming months so kinda want to know what I'm in for. Thanks! Enjoy!
  9. To add to this, I just got an offer via email. Itineraries aren't great but the offer was Ocean View room + $350 free play.
  10. I probably got 3000-5000 points (honestly don't quite remember) on a 7-day Alaskan cruise in late May/early June playing mostly slots and a little blackjack. Got chocolate-covered strawberries, a drink card, a spa offer, and a meal at Pinnacle. Got a bounceback offer of $750 free play. Have only received 30% off (casino-rate) emails from Holland. So no luck on my end, but hopefully it's better for you.
  11. Was on Liberty out of Galveston last year and the poker was great. Dealers can be atrocious as they're not really trained on poker very well, so you may need to correct them at times.
  12. Thank you everyone for the great advice! I just called HAL up and took us off the complimentary upgrade list.
  13. My fiancee and I will be doing an Alaskan cruise on the Eurodam in May. It will be our first Alaskan and, after reading that aft-view verandah rooms are "worth the cost" for this cruise, that's what we booked. While booking, I was asked if we would like to be put on the complimentary upgrade list. While the thought of a complimentary upgrade to a suite sounds nice in theory, I was told that they would put us in any room that they deemed 'an upgrade' and that we would not be asked. I don't think we would mind just about any upgrade to a suite, but I think we'd be disappointed if we got 'upgraded' to another verandah that's somewhere else on the ship. We don't have any experience with this process. I don't even know what is considered an 'upgrade' to HAL. Does anyone have an opinion on whether we should stay on the complimentary upgrade list?
