I was on QV in November and I had tea delivered to my cabin a couple of times and it is in a china/pottery teapot. I had breakfast delivered and that was the same. I did ask for a mug though as tea cups make it go cold too quickly. T
Kings Court has huge selection of twinings tea but no teapots.

Wow Cape Horn journey sounds amazing and so cold. Really didn't think you would see any cold on the voyage. Loving your blog :-)

Moonraker, We are going to be in SH for a day between crossings. I would like to do a similar bus tour to New Forest to that offered by Cunard. Do you have any suggestions? Are those tours available thru the company directly?
I'm sure that there are probably tours avaiIlable from a local Southampton coach company. I'll have a look and see what I can find and get back to you :)

There's a part in the afternoon where you can make a mask for masquerade ball. Buccaneers, white shirt, baggy black trousers, black boots, waistcoat. Make a swords and pirate hat out of newspaper...sorted :-)

If anyone can post a photo of one of the sideways inside cabins, I would be so grateful. I am puzzled as to the layout, thank you!
I was on QV in November but not sure if I had a sideways inside cabin. I was on deck 7. Walked in door, wardrobes on right, bathroom on left, bed straight ahead.

I second Salisbury. Train from Southampton, visit the cathedral and grounds and you could visit Stonehenge too by bus.

Misread that post...t&c's won't help :) usually faqs can help

Looks like the likes outweigh the dislikes :-)

Ps I actually do quite like it and am hoping to cruise with p and o this year.
-
At least you'll know you're getting on the right ship. No doubt it will stay there for the ships life at p and o and then disappear when it gets sold on.

There appears to be lots of tweets saying people have entered. Do a search and see. Looks like it might be ok

If the Scottish lady was called Myra please tell her Karen said to say hello!!!

I was on QV in November and librarian was hoping for some new books. There is a book swap area so if you have any at home going spare and don't mind leaving them for others that might be an idea!! Enjoy your voyage :)

Have a great cruise!!! Envious of you all :-)

To all of you about to set off, I really hope you will be posting comments on the forums. Just wish I could afford to do another cruise. Have an absolutely brilliant time :-)

Some nice cupcakes made for the celebration. Not sure if they were on board or at Carnival House in Southampton. Few links on twitter @cunardline

Did the QM2 sail at midnight last night (1/3-4)?
00.30 it sailed away :)

I am recently widowed and have just booked my first solo cruise. Are there any other solo's on this cruise? I love to cruise, but not sure how much I will enjoy cruising as a solo. Any advice?
Dave
I went on my first ever cruise in November as a solo. I met so many interesting people and had the most fantastic time. Just be yourself, don't be afraid to just say hello and smile! Conversations soon strike up. On my cruise there was a solo meet and greet on the first day, it was good to meet with them however I just did my own thing and found lots of people who wanted to talk to me if I wanted to chat!! At ports I just initially went off on my own but ended up walking with others that were on the buses from the ship. Just hung around with them for a few mins and then toddled off on my own. You'll have a blast.
Ps sorry about your loss :(

I was going to pay my account in £'s cash but it worked out more expensive than paying cc or $. Purser advised against it due to extra costs.

We board 11 dec and sadly she will not be on board then ... Disappointing. As, have heard good reports about her...
She is brill and reverses that brute of a ship into dock brilliantly!!!

Captain Inge is great!!! I hope I get to sail with her again. This is her last cruise before she's back on QV again in Jan and then joins QE in May
