Oops, accidentally hit the create button. So we have already been to orient bay and great bay. Want to see something else and not sure which beach would be a good fit. We will have our 16 month old, DH looooves to snorkel, some amenities would be great, and not too crowded. Which beach would you suggest?
Friar's Bay
Le Galion
Little Bay
Or another one?
Thank you!

Anyone recommend a car rental company at or near the terminal?

Thank you everyone! :-)

Thoughts on this line? About the same as Princess? Thank you!

The other day he was opening old ones in the Princess forum, annoying to say the least. :-/

First off, I would say take the kid on the cruise! We will be taking our 16 month old on the Ruby in a few months. I posted a question like yours awhile back, search the forum with '?s for bringing a toddler.' I can't figure out how to copy it on my phone to this. But so many people were helpful with suggestions on how to make it a fun family trip. If you are really set on wanting to cruise don't let the naysayers discourage you. Happy travels! :-) let me know if you can't find the thread I am referring to, I will get on a computer and try and figure out how to copy it.

Hubby and I just saw the one with the dad carrying his daughter. We looooved it. So sweet and sentimental both of us thought. I am sure it helps that we just booked our first Princess cruise and will be cruising with our little daughter. I like the "comeback new" slogan. I want to come back refreshed from my vacations, not like I need to take another few days off of work to recuperate. Totally ok if it attracts a more mellow crowd. I don't really want my daughter amongst a big party scene anyways. :-)

Go HAWKS!!!! Beast mode!

Thank you all! I am certain I will have LOTS more questions over the next 10 months! I am a planner so yes, I agree, planning is half the fun! :-)

Officially booked our first Princess cruise! December 20th on the Ruby. Let the countdown begin!!!!

Ideal would be...
Shuttle from airport
Shuttle or walkable to cruise port
Free breakfast
Grocery/drug store close (walk)
$100-$150ish

And yes stoneharbourlady, we will be playing a lot in the sea! :-)
-
I would appreciate that lulu! :-)

Also, will my daughter who will be 16 months and probably not potty trained be able to go in the kiddy pool there? I know she won't be allowed in any if the ship's pools.

I am sure this has already been asked and discussed, but I can't figure out on my iPhone how to search without searching every board...
Anyways, how is this port? Do you have to pay for the lunch?

Thank you!

Port side are even number rooms, correct?

So looks like the port switched from Grand Turk to Nassau on the Ruby Christmas 2014 cruise... Ugh! Been to Nassau and stayed at Atlantis before. What is there to do on Nassau other than Atlantis? The day pass is pretty spendy. I am kind of bummed, I was really looking forward to Grand Turk.:-(

Thank you all for clarifying! :-)

So I am the vacation planner for the family and have been given the green light to book our family's Christmas cruise this coming December. We have been on 5-7 RC cruises and want to try a different line. I keep flipping between the Emerald out of Houston and the Ruby out of Fort Lauderdale. Both are a long way for us to fly (Washington State) we already are committed to fly a day or two before and there really isn't much of a difference in airfare costs. So which ship and/or itinerary would you go with and why?
Emerald - Houston, Cozumel (been there before), Roatan, Belize, Houston
Ruby - Ft. Lauderdale, Princess Cays, St. Maarten (been there), St. Thomas (been there), Grand Turk, Ft. Lauderdale
And just for another option...
Regal - Ft. Lauderdale, Princess Cays, St. Thomas (been there), St. Maarten (been there), Ft. Lauderdale

Yes it said caribe cafe is open, is it a buffet that has a lot of options? Haven't cruised princess before. I was thinking that horizon court is the main buffet like windjammer is on RC?

Read on the CC ship review for Ruby that horizon court closes at 5:30pm? So that isn't an option for dinner?
Princess Cays Clamshells?
in Princess Cruises
Posted
Hi all,
Our cruise will be stopping in Princess Cays and I was wondering about the clamshells. Any info is much appreciated!
How much is it to rent one? Are they worth it? We will have our 16 month old and are thinking it would be good to have some shade for her for playing and napping.
We are a family of 6 adults, so we would need 3 shells, correct? Can we arrange to have them all next to each other, or is it a first come situation?
Thank you!
