  1. Agree 100% on this comment. Sad part is it seemed at no point in time something wasn't setup in the middle. Only real solution if trying to get from on end to the other was going up the stairs outside of Guest Services and going down the set outside of Izumi.

Same thing on the Explorer all 5 times we sailed on her!!!! It is really an accident waiting to happen since someone is bound to trip or fall with all the madness going on by passengers pushing and shoving who think they are getting such a real bargain.:(

  2. If your online documents are ready, toward the end of the long document there should be luggage tags. As the date gets closer, there will also be a separate link in your reservation to print the tags.

I can see the link to have cruise docs sent via e-mail but it is not accessible! :(:(:(However, I was able to print boarding pass. My on-line docs are only 2 pages?????

    On 10/28/17 sailing as well.

  3. If RCL put their employees on a ship, you can bet there is a large concern over their safety rather than worrying about maintaining their reservation system during a devasting hurricane to affect most of the state of Florida. TAs were notified of the shut down.

    Really!!!!!

I am sure if it is absolutely necessary to get notices out regarding upcoming sailings, they can do so from the ship's internet system.

Let's pray that Florida comes out better than the dire predictions being made about damage and that residents remain safe.(yn)(yn):ship:(yn)

  4. You may still be able to take your children on the sailing if there has been a cancellation by another passenger.

NCL may send your sailing up to Canada, shorten it or just cancel. No way of knowing but definitely keep on top of it with your TA who will probably know before you. I would just hang in there until you find out what NCL decides to do about your sailing. Otherwise you may lose out on a future cruise credit and getting money back on your current sailing.

    Don't give up yet.:)

  5. Yes, the crepes station is whole section on its own so it might be also available for lunch and dinner as well

The temps in public places including shows were comfortable about 68.

    Thanks.

  6. Well if someone who needs this would stock up before the WJ is closed. You can't think RCCL would keep the whole WJ open for the few who needs this. It's called personal responsibility. If you need it , figure out a way to be prepared.

Why so angry a reply if you yourself suffer from diabeties?

I've sailed with 2 diabetics in the same cabin and everyone's severity of the disease is different. One of my cabin mates actually started to crash in the MDR whille waiting for our appetizers to show up. Medical came and took her out to the doctor's office. She was kept there over 4 hours until she was stablized. We learned later she did not eat enough prior to taking insulin to balance her levels since we arrived back later from a ship's shore excursion than expected and buffet was already closed down. The hot dog she managed to get wasn' t quite enough. It was a very scary situation and really put a damper on the whole sailing.

  7. What about someone who is diabetic and needs to eat throughout the day/night with at least a small snack to maintain their proper insulin level? Without something to balance the insulin they could crash and go into a diabetic coma/shock. Not talking about a full meal but a snack and some fruit.

On other lines when the ship is in port, buffet hours are normally extended so those returning from excursions can still have lunch instead of depending on snacks.

Does not seem unreasonable to have longer hours or some other option available once buffet closes down.

  8. I really hope that someone answers this! I asked about the character breakfast and dreamworks awhile ago and didn't really get an answer. We leave Oct. 28 on Anthem with a 5 year old granddaughter and she would love a character breakfast! How do you sign up and can you do this more than once?

We are on the same sailling! I even tried asking on our Roll Call was told Dreamworks characters. But I would like to know which one(s) before I make the reservation.

It is now available to book through your reservation.

Someone must have done this breakfast!!!!!!:(

  9. Say you book your own travel insurance, and the cruise is $5k.

Can you only insure it for say, $2.5K? Yes if you need a refund of the fare you're only going to get that $2.5k back, but I'd assume you still get all the same medical coverage as if you insured the full rate?

Obviously you can't do this with NCL's insurance, but on sites where you have to enter the amount of your cruise, is this an option anyone has ever utilized?

Yes you can. Our TA did it for us in May. TA always uses a 3rd party insurer. You do not have to include port taxes and fees in your total cost. Also, if you prepaid tips or took either drink or food package that can be excluded as well.

  10. You're welcome.:) They do make it a challenge, when we did the Escape Room, we booked through the Royal IQ app and it did not say where we were supposed to go. I also hadn't done too much research online before we sailed and had never seen where we were supposed to go. We checked the deckplans, couldn't find it. We decided to go to guest relations and ask since we didn't want to miss our reservation. Ahead of us in line was another group who also were trying to figure out were to go too, they had the same reservation time. The person who was walking the line asking what people needed help with, told us all to head to Fuel and we had passed the first challenge in our escape.;p

    Wow!!

We are definitely going to try our best to do the Escape if we can sign up and find the location for it since we missed out on the Breakaway this May/June.

    Thanks for the information.

  11. If you can not book in your cruise planner, it is best to book day 1, as soon as you can, either at the box office or with the Royal IQ app. I did not see the Escape Room in the app the first time I tried to find it. Once I went into activities and scrolled down the pictures, I did not see it, if I clicked a button in that screen that said all activities or something similar, then I was able to see the listing for the Escape Room.

Thanks for the info. RCL really doesn't make it easy do they? Almost like a challenge in itself to find and book!:halo:

  12. I went from 1 or 2 cruises a year to 7 the year I retired, and took everyone of them. I book 5 to 7 cruises, when the itineraries first are released, and plan on taking every one of them. If something comes up, family wedding as an example, I don't think I should be penalized, just because I booked more cruises.

While you may have actually followed through and took the cruises you reserved, many did not and even boasted about it on CC. To be fair, it takes cabins off the market for someone who really wants to sail and is ready to book and follow through.

Not the same thing as travel agents holdng blocks of cabins until final payment due date.

Agree that a passenger's booking history should be taken into consideration when a cancellation is necessary.

  13. First, get some idea of prices before you sail from home. Second, the best thing to buy in Mexico is silver. Just make sure the piece is stamped with 925. Bargaining is expected in shops in Mexico and you will find that unless you are so low a reduction from the asking price will be yours. Enameled pieces are their speciality as well as anything made from onyx. None of these items will break the bank but will be treasured for years.

If you want some cheap trinkets, go to a local craft market in Mexico rather than buying from someone selling items on the street.

  14. Yes. They offer the escape room in the anthem. It is never listed in the compass. You have to try to sign up through the Royal IQ app (it did not show up on my app until later in the week and it wasn't available to book) or get on the box office line to sign up the first day.

So, can you book the Escape Room on day one once on board or not?

  15. Hi All,

I just wanted to share something with new cruisers (and old if they do not know this).

As I am sure you are aware each cruiser will have gratuities & tips added to their SeaPass account every day (unless you have paid these in advance with your booking).

I don't actually agree with these automatic tips, as I feel that I should decide who has earned this & most importantly how much I wish to tip.

As a family of 5 travelling the cost per day @ $13.50 for 7 days will be quite considerable at $472.50! Now I can honestly say that I would never tip this much during a weeks land holiday so will certainly not be forced to pay this at sea.

Now for those of you not in the know, please take note. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY. That's right, there is not obligation on your part to pay. The booking information and website will not highlight this as RC want you to pay. When reading their information is does make you feel like this is obligatory, however if you read the very, very small print you will note this is not the case. All you need to do is go to reception on Day 1 and ask that these gratuities & tips are removed from your account....and voila!

You can then reward the staff members that you want to reward.

    Happy cruising.

While "you do not have to pay", I will ask you these questions..."Do you not tip your waiter/waitress when dining out?" Do you not tip for drinks served to you? Why would it be any different on a ship where you are eating up to 5 or 6 times daily and having your cabin serviced?"

  16. Some of the photo backdrops are quite casual -- beach scene where you can sit on the floor and become part of the scene or even a small boat dock. Formal wear would look out of place with this type of background.

Again, ask the photographers what backgrounds they will be using each night.

  17. No mini golf on Anthem, sorry! But the Sea Plex has so much! At different times there are bumper cars, trapeze school, and roller skating scheduled. Ping pong set up always.

:(:(:(Oh no!!! Say it isn't so -- no mini golf!!!! We have always had so much fun playing on RCL's ships. On one sailing the non golfers actually beat an almost pro golfer!!!
