As I would tell my spouse, you may be over-thinking the problem. Need to remember that "stuff happens," and its happening more frequently in the era of COVID-19. Remain flexible, go with the flow and carry-on as the Brits say.
We have only had good experiences with EZAir on international flights. Their agents have worked with us to rearrange travel when airline schedules were unworkable. One case they were able to reschedule flights from the US east coast to OZ through ATL when the original booking came back with an ATL connection time of 45 mins, "legal" connection in airline parlance. Generally unworkable during summer thunderstorm weather if trying to connect to an ATL-LAX leg of the flight SYD. They found us a much better connection and saved us $500 each! On the other hand, Celebrity Air once provided a 4-leg trip between TPA and YQB via stops in Texas, Chicago and Newark - with one flight leaving before the other arrived. Rebooked and overnighted at EWR - two leg trip.
We are also on the 12 March Sky sailing and watching conditions closely. We have follow-on travel planned into the Netherlands flying back to the US from AMS. Staying positive but also looking at alternatives, to include flying home day of arrival Southampton. The Netherlands segment is still three months away...and a lot could change.
I cancelled my 1/19/22 cruise to Hawaii at 35 days and my EZ Air flexible flights were refunded in the form of a FCC.

Here's the scoop - $100 a test https://www.princess.com/plan/cruise-with-confidence/cruise-health/frequently-asked-questions/us-cruises/ I think you get charged even if you are a no-show.
I hope Princess extends the port testing option past January 9th since my wife and I are flying from Syracuse, NY to Los Angeles, CA for our Mexico/Hawaii back to back cruise on February 3rd.
We would prefer to It would to simply schedule a test at the port on embarkation day.

I tried to book shore excursions on the Princess website but the 10% discount was not applied for my elite status. Does anyone know how the discount works?
My understanding is we will receive the 10% discount in the form of an onboard credit.

Latest email from Princess for my 2/13/22 cruise to Hawaii on the Grand Princess.
We have been advised by the State of Hawaii there is a possibility that entry requirements could be modified. Modifications could include a COVID-19 booster requirement 14 days prior to arrival or additional COVID-19 entrance testing regardless of vaccine status. If the State of Hawaii revises its protocols, Princess will work to minimize disruptions to your experience and communicate the best information available.

In my opinion the cruise lines are going to require all passengers to be vaccinated and have boosters by January.
In addition I anticipate the cruise lines being required to utilize an approved CDC vendor to do testing at the port of embarkation.

It looks like Princess will have to utilize the Island Princess and Coral Princess if the want to include stops in Bora Bora on cruises in 2022 and beyond.
Notices were sent out today to passengers that the Grand Princess would not be stopping in Bora Bora in 2022 due to the ships size/capacity.
In late September, French Polynesia's government announced that cruise ships with a capacity greater than 3,500 passengers will be banned from making port calls in the country as of January 1, 2022. Ships with capacity of more than 2,500 passengers will be limited to calls at Tahiti and two other ports with sufficient infrastructure to accommodate them. Bora Bora, the country’s top tourist draw, will further limit daily cruise passengers to 1,200—effectively barring most large cruise ships from docking.

My wife and I switch from the 1/19/22 cruise to Hawaii to the 2/13/22 voyage.
We had the Haleakala National Park & Maui Ocean Center excursion booked on the 1/19/22 cruise but when we search the 2/13/22 cruise Princess does not offer any excursions to the Haleakala National Park.
Has anyone heard why Princess is not offering excursions to Haleakala on the 2/13/22 voyage?

Not trying to steal this thread, but was the excursion worth it? We're looking to book it.
TIA
My wife and I really enjoyed the Road To Hana excursion with stops at a state park, black sand beach, and a waterfall. It is a long day in the car and beware if you get car sick due to the 600+ curves (the guide let my wife sit in the front seat and she was fine). The only disappointment was we did not get much time in Hana but could have been due to the traffic at the outset of the excursion in town.

In 2019 we took the Road to Hana excursion thru Princess and hit a traffic jam which delayed us getting back to the ship. The guide mentioned this is the reason why you don’t want to do a private tour since one accident can cause long delays and you will miss your ship.

We've decided to cancel a cruise we had booked for April on the Enchanted. Today I went on our Princess page and cancelled about $2000 worth of excursions we had paid for 6 months ago. How long do we have to wait before seeing that refund? I assume it will be credited back to the original credit card.
I did the same thing last week and have not received a refund to my credit yet. I assume it will take about 10 to 14 days to process thru my credit card company like in the past.

I bet Princess now wishes they did not invest in these mega ships since cruise ships with capacity like the Island, Coral, and Pacific (sold) are the perfect size for cruising in the COVID19 era.

Like many of us on this board I have quite a bit of money tied up deposits and shore excursions on cruises from 2022-2023.
The news about the omicron variant coupled with the fact Princess is operating ships with 200+ passengers onboard is very concerning since they will be facing bankruptcy if things don’t change soon.
