NCL is not a leader but a follower. They were the last one to do it before and they are the last one to do it now. They might wait till a day before your sailing to announce the cancellation so you have to keep the FCC instead of getting a refund. Totally screwed by them in March and will likely get screwed again in May.

Can you please post the link to your source. I went to NCL's website and see nothing new since the 13th. Thank you.
This was emailed to the TA's. Copied and pasted directly from that FAQ.

Right?! I have never lived through a pandemic before so I am not sure of the protocol. I will say this, if this country doesn’t start testing people (but keep spouting this crap that only 129 people in the US have this virus) I think I am going to scream. Third world countries are testing 1000’s of people everyday and the strongest nation in the world can’t get enough tests out to test a large high school. Unbelievable... We could have a million infected already and not even know it...
Well if our president said that there is no such thing in this country, how can we not believe him? I think we have missed the stage of containment, since we have allowed everyone into this country without screening.

And what about those Vacations that start before March 10th? We’re due to leave on This Sunday March 8th out of NYC And I’m really starting to think twice.
What are they thinking really? Making these changes but excluding people who are set to sail this weekend. Princess is also starting 3/9...

Just got this from HAL:
For Existing Bookings: To give your clients peace of mind, Holland America Line is introducing a new Short Term Cancellation Policy on select cruises. For all departures between now and May 31, 2020, we are allowing guests the option of cancelling their booking no later than March 31, 2020, with a minimum of 72 hours in advance of their departure date. However, this new cancellation program will apply to sailings departing through and including March 9, 2020, which are now within the 72 hour window. Any cancellation will receive a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) for the amount of their cancellation fee that can be used for another cruise in 2020 or 2021. The FCC must be booked by December 31, 2020. This applies to bookings on spring 2020 Land+Sea Journeys and cruises for all destinations. FCCs are nonrefundable, non-transferrable and do not have to be used on the same destination that was cancelled. FCCs are non-commissionable; however, we will offer a $50 bonus re-booking commission per person. We have also made the decision to give your clients longer to make final payment for June 2020 sailings. For all June departures, final payment will now be due at 60 days prior to sailing date.
We also know that there are people with specific individual health situations that impact their ability to safely travel during these times. For those guests who are able to provide supporting documents from their health care provider, Holland America Line will issue them a Future Cruise Credit. For information on submitting a request with documentation under this “Compassion Policy,” please contact our Reservations Department. This offer is available for guests booked on any sailing, regardless of departure date.
As a thank you to currently booked guests who join us for their cruise as planned, up to and including departures through May 31, 2020, we will provide an Onboard Credit of US$200 per stateroom/US$100 per person for voyages longer than 7 days and US$100 per stateroom/US$50 per person for voyages less than 6 days. This credit will be automatically applied to each eligible booking so you do not need to take any action.- 1

I think this is what HAL has:
On bookings made from March 1 through April 30, 2020, for sailings up to October 15, 2020, your clients may cancel for any reason and receive their full deposit and any fees back as a Future Cruise Credit (up to 30 days before departure; additional restrictions apply). In addition, this offer combines with all of our promotions, including the “Pack These Values” promotion, giving them even more reasons to book their cruise vacation with you today!
Pack These Values! Book select 2020 cruises or Land+Sea Journeys and receive valuable offers*:
Free gratuities
Free or reduced kids’ fares (taxes, fees and port expenses are additional)
Deposits from $99
Suites get up to US$300 onboard spending money
Book an ocean-view stateroom or better by March 22 and receive a Holland America Line Gift Card, up to US$200 per stateroom.
Nothing about those who already booked and are in cancellation penalty...

- In order to enhance our guests’ cruising experience, we are pleased to advise our current penalty schedule will be adjusted to allow flexibility leading up to final payment.
- Currently our penalty schedule requires final payment at 90 days prior to sailing. The updated penalty schedule, will now permit final payment date at 60 days prior to sailing for both refundable and non-refundable deposits.
- Our new penalty schedule effective February 28, 2020 is being enhanced to allow even more time for our guests to fully commit to their upcoming cruise vacation.
- Guests who have obtained travel protection with Celebrity Cruises will continue to receive the same benefits and coverage. Those guests who purchased travel protection independently, will need to contact their coverage provider.
- New Penalty Schedule effective on February 28, 2020 through March 13, 2020 and applicable for European sailings departing May 1, 2020 through June 6, 2020. North America Bookings Only (US, Canada, Puerto Rico), cancelling between 2/29/20 through 3/13/20, FIT and Groups Bookings.

Travel insurance might not be the answer...this is from Travelex:
It is important to note that fear of travel, travel advisories and destination being inaccessible due to this illness are not covered risks under the Travelex Insurance policies. In order to cancel or interrupt a trip due to quarantine, the traveler or traveling companion would need to be physically quarantined themselves .

That's been my experience quite a few times as well, though only inside NA or to Europe. I'll do a search, find great flights on the EZAir booking engine, then start the booking process. I get all the way through and it then returns the "Flights are no longer available" message, even though they showed up as "available" a few minutes earlier. I also notice that I can keep trying the same booking process and run through 2 or 3 booking iterations until the system finally shows the same flights as available, but at a MUCH higher price. I never could understand why it shows flights as available then two minutes later says they're not.
I believe you have to pay for seat assignments. I have a flight that is code-share between AA and Qantas, the AA flights I can choose seats without paying, the Qantas one, I have to pay on their website for seat selection. If you are booking flexible air, book it and then go on to Qantas site using the record locator Princess provides and you should be able to see the ability to select seats from their website (which requires payment).

Did you book a guarantee initially and was assigned a higher category cabin you are in now? Or did you get a complimentary upgrade at some point?
If you booked the specific cabin you are in now, there should be no reason why you cannot change to another one in the same category...
It's a very simple thing to do in Polar Online for your agent.

Hi:
We will be sailing out of Kobe, Japan next June. Can anyone tell me what airport I should fly into from Canada?
Thank you.
You can either fly into
Itami (ITM) or Kansai (KIX)
KIX is probably the best bet flying from Canada as ITM is for domestic...

so, if you buy a card do you get it in the mail? How do you use it to pay your travel agent for your trip? (sorry in advance for this stupid question, but want to know what to do). Thanks.
I got the e-card, so not sure how it works with physical card. As for travel agent, you just need to tell him/her the gift card number and pin...

What sort of rough budget would you set to do this in a balcony cabin. Nothing specific just a ball park figure. Sorry if that is personal just wanted to know if it will ever be attainable.
This is the price (per person) for the 180 days cruise for 2020:

When reading the terms, it seems that the $1000 gift card does not expire but the $50 promo gift card must be used by July. Is that how you understand it?
Yes, apply the free $50 card now before July and the $1000 one you can hold on to if needed.

I purchased two. Separately and was able to get the $50 both times. I did get one email with the link. Still waiting on the other - see if I get the denied email.
So do I just call my big boX TA and they will apply to account? They are EXtra big and online.
Yes, they should be able to apply it. Give them the amount, gift card number and PIN, that's all they need.
