I must say it was really different being on a cruise where this happened. We were notified at 1 pm that the crew member went over at 9am. We had to back track the four hours where the search started arriving at approximately 5 pm. At about 9 pm they told us the search was over and he could not be found.
We met a server who knows him and said he worked in the aft galley of the ship as a dishwasher and only had two months with the Company.

were very sad and my Wife and I cried with them also and gave them hugs.
That was a very sad moment I will never forget as we headed towards Miami.
I went out on the balcony at 11 pm and the Captain was I guess you would call it "hauling ass". We were moving as fast as the ship would go.
We are thrilled that he was found and just as happy for his co workers who were
so full of sadness.
I did not use any of the names of the Haven employees that knew him or we shared those moments with to protect their anonymity. They know who they are and they know who we are.
If anyone wants to pick apart this post about the schedule of events this post is not about that. It is a post about human dignity that spreads across cultures and countries and shows that people do care about others.

Does anyone know where to get a list of the amenities that Haven cabins have.
We want to see a detailed list if there is such a thing for the Getaway we are booked on.
For example
I was looking for binoculars and couldn't find that NCL provides them.

Can anyone tell me what time you are allowed to board? Any other general information about getting on the ship and leaving taking your own bags is appreciated

Ok since everyone did so well with the balcony........what about the inside of this room on the NA? Even HAL web sight doesn't have one. They only have vista spa suite? Does this room look like a Neptune suite?

You people are awesome!!!!! Ask and you shall receive. Picture from the outside with a rectangle around it and one of the balcony! Now my wife is only 5' 2. Is she even going to be able to see? One last thing anyone know the square footage of these? Are they considered Neptune?

Has anyone ever stayed in one of these spa suites. Only two staterooms 10005 and 10006. The information on the net is varied in size etc.... I know the fitness center us below and the crows nest above. Just wondering if anyone out there has stayed in one of these or knows someone who has? Any information us appreciated. Thanks

Bags are taken at beginning of the terminal at yacht club canopy and check in is a seperate area

They had baked Alaska one night in le muse but dont light it at the table.
It was not on the menu any other night.....not sure you can order it we never tried.

Boat leaves at 7 can you check in at 2?

It's my understanding that you can eat in those dining rooms but drinks there are not complimentary because that is outside the YC area

Haven Embarkation - NCL put you in a tiny room and then took us upstairs to a holding area similar to an airline gate area. The small room is tiny and the new terminal will take care of that lame first impression.
Disembarkation - Very unfair to NCL to complain because this cruise was the one where the crew member went over and could not be found at sea when we went back to look for him. We were late getting back to Miami and it was everyone leaving at once and not staggered so NCL did the best they could.
Food - NCL won big here. The Haven restaurant is not good..... it is excellent. The people who work there are great and the ladies who seat you and Gabriel a server are exceptional. Ask for him if you go in the Haven for a great server.
The Ship - Getaway is very unique and seems to have something for everyone. Let me tell you about Deck 16 and seeing four ships from one deck. Ship 1....The Haven which was mostly peaceful except for a few times some parents decided to let their kids scream at the Haven pool. I dont ever blame the kids because they do what the parents allow them to do. As you walk down deck 16 you look down to deck 15 at Ship 2 and see what looks like Spring Break or Animal House with hundreds of people packed in and around the small pool. Walk a bit further and you see Ship 3 where all the kids are playing in the water park and then a bit further is Ship 4 where H20 spice is and people can lay out in the sun and cool off with the waterfall area. To me this was amazing that all styles of getting some sunshine cruising were happening at once and could be seen with a walk down Deck 16 front to back.
The atrium seating area size wise is inadequate and the chairs in the comedy place will give you a nice back ache. Elevators are enclosed and stop pretty much at every floor. Million Dollar Quartet and Burn the Floor were good shows but we did not care for scheduling the show times ahead of time.
Conclusion - Not sure i could do any other class but Haven. Not just because Haven is so great but because the rest of the ship is just not our style. Outside the Haven It is a party ship for the most part. Tropicana is very unique with the dinner and dancing. Ropes course is cool. That is all that we saw outside the Haven that we thought was worth mentioning. If you are a couple looking for a quiet cruise and you dont want to pay Haven price I couldnt recomend the Getaway. I give the overall cruise a 3 which is average but if it were just the Haven it would be a 4 meaning very good.
