I never disagree with Bob, since he is always right; however, we were on Serenade in October and had the dreaded shower curtain.............

The post was referring to the outside promenade on deck 5.
Oooops......my bad. I forgot about deck 5, even though I spent a good amount of time there as well!! Thanks, Bob.

There is no promenade on Brilliance.

I was on the Brilliance for a 13 day repositioning cruise (I am now hooked on longer cruises), and found the Colony Club to be very quiet during the day. It is a very large venue, and even if there is something going on, like trivia at 2 pm some days, there are chairs and love seats at the aft that are quiet and comfortable enough to sit and read. I spent many an hour sitting there reading and napping.......

You can request the same table but you may not get it........

I sympathize with the poster. I am now diamond plus and never received a pin or any other "goodies"....no crystal block....nothing. I DID receive the balcony price discount, and that was certainly nice! I spoke with a c&a spokesperson on the phone on November 10 and was told I would receive pins, etc. by mail. I have yet to receive anything.

PS. That hotel will probably be about the least expensive you will find. Others are in the $300 - $700 range (yikes!!). We agree with you......we just want to rest our heads and have a bite to eat.

The big picture?? The two of us...Oct 1st....one night...would be nice to sight see,but may be time prohibitive,so not a concern.
We know nothing about the Silver Line and quite apparently about Boston,or else we wouldn't be asking for help.
We stayed at the Best Western Adams Inn in Quincy the night before a cruise. The shuttle to the hotel was slow, but the traffic was terrible. The shuttle to the cruise terminal was packed - luggage next to the doors and up to the roof - but was a quick 10 minute ride. You have to specifically ask for the shuttle when you get there, or even better, call a week or two ahead to confirm. The breakfast was good. We also had dinner in the restaurant......great chowder and huge sandwiches (we could have split one). We knew we didn't want to explore, so that didn't figure into our decision.
Hope this helps! And hope to see you on another cruise!

I can tell you that some tables for My Time Dining were reserved.......but we couldn't get a reserved one.

Enjoyed the repositioning on the Brilliance so much last month, that we signed up for it again! That means the next cruise is over 300 days away:'(

If you do a b2b and change status, it will show up on the 2nd cruise . This happened when we sailed last year, we were Emerald going into the Transpacific and made D at the completion 0f the Transpacific going into the Hawaii to Vancouver.
Is this really true? My sister and I are doing a back to back next October. She only needs one point to go to Diamond. Are you saying at the end of the first cruise she would be Diamond??

Does that include repositioning cruises as well?
Thanks!

We asked for a fan on our repositioning cruise, and were told by our cabin steward there were none for passengers to use. Of course, this was the worst steward we ever had!!! I'll contact special needs prior to our next cruise.
Thanks so much for the helpful suggestions!

Thanks, everyone. I take medication that makes me so terribly hot. Could I take the battery-operated one in a carryon?

What type of fan can you bring on board?
Barb

What kind of fan did you bring? I am accustomed to a ceiling fan.....

There is great specific info on cruisedecks.com. It shows cabins to avoid, etc. Can you tell me who the Captain is of Brilliance? Cruise Director? Thanks lots!:)
Thanks for the tip! Will post the names of the Captain and Cruise Director when I get back.

I won't ask if anyone has stayed in this cabin since I am sure many people have!! However, I'd like to know if anyone has pictures of the balcony? The deck layout indicates the balcony is a bit larger than 8600. Does anyone know if this is true?
Thanks!!

Would I be able to get a can of diet coke or a bottled water instead of mixed drinks?
Thanks~

Does anyone know of an inexpensive but safe hotel near Bayonne? Are the hotels on or near the airport noisy? How much would a cab to the pier cost?
Thanks so much,
Barb

Are there cabins on deck 6? I would only worry about noise from below.....

Amen, Marci!

You can't get both the C&A balcony discount AND the onboard credit, though, right?
