Here is a different question for well dressed around town.I have received an invitation to a niece’s wedding all good so far.
The wedding and reception will be held at a farm that has reception facilities. Looks nice. It is near Margaret River,, beautiful. Outside wedding, inside reception.
Date is mid-January. Hmmmm, could be a touch warm. Dress code is listed as formal.
Hi
So, should I be flying across the country with my Cunard uniform?. Is it my be black thongs and Stubbies? Something in between?

This is the MCG Rle in action (actually a contract between the Victorian dominated league and the MCG😞
With the competition having rebranded itself as the Australian Football League (AFL) at the start of the 1990 season, West Coast finished third on the ladder at the conclusion of the home-and-away season, and progressed to the preliminary final before losing to Essendon, having been forced to play four consecutive finals in Melbourne. By rights, all those games should have been held in Perth. Brisbane, and I think Adelaide, also suffered from this.

It is unlikley that Cats will play Collingwood at GMHBA Stadium. Part of it is a construction site at the moment and the capacity is much lower. The AFL will want a capacity crowd for a qualifying final.
Correct.Announced as MGG.

I was going to dinner with my son and just about 6 there was this amazing sound from the Railway Hotel in Yarraville. It took me a little to think of looking at the footy score.
Anyway, next line up:
Geelong vs Collingwood. Possibly at Geelong
Melbourne vs Sydney. MCG
Fremantle vs Western Bulldogs. Optus Oval, Perth
Brisbane vs Richmond, Gabba, Brisbane.
Locations subject to the whims of the Victorian overlords.

Safari suits could sometimes cause little problems. When I was working for the health dept in the kimberlies (WA), A doctor was asking about some communications difficulties he was having that we who wore shorts of trousers didn’t.
In his khaki Safari suit, the elders would want to sit down with him and discuss issues of law, where he want to talk about health and medicine. We had t gently explain that he was wearing a very similar outfit to the police uniforms and suggested powder blue would be better.

The black-necked stork is often called the ‘jabiru’. However, this name actually refers to a large South American stork that is quite different to our black-necked species.
You learn something everyday.
I, like others, assumed that jabiru was an Aboriginal name for the bird. Seems not.At a photography competition, the bird presenter said this was not correct. Jabiru is the South American bird and language of the name.
Some bird people can be very strident.

I wonder if there was outrage when the name of the jabiru was changed to black necked stork?Or if people know why?

lots of arguments around a tassie (or NT, ACT) team Most come down to $$$$
Tassie has a small population, so question about the size of potential supporter base. It is also a state with a north-south divide -- so the location of the team is an issue. The size of Tassie is also reflected in the potential sponsorship $$ available.
Suitable stadium availability is a big point. Blundstone in Hobart would require a substantial rebuild and capacity increase.
Relocation is an unhappy concept. Sydney are the relocated South Melbourne. It took some decades to get reasonably established. Fitzroy in Melbourne was merged with Brisbane -- severely disaffected fans. The chatter out of Tassie is they want a dedicated team, not a poorly performing team being relocated. Both North Melbourne (Hobart) and Hawthorn (Launceston) play several games in Tassie each season, underwritten by the Tasmanian govt. Neither has any desire to relocate - -- and the Tassie govt is not prepared to underwrite a relocation.
The number of teams in the competition has impacts on the fixture. How many teams? How often do they play each other? Currently 18 teams play 22 games in the home and away season.
Add to this is the television rights. There is 1 broadcast contract for free to air, and that is shared across cable. They are all unhappy. unlike the NFL, the teams do not have their own local arrangements.

Sadly, Manly aquarium has been closed for some time now.
Well, that is very inconsiderate.-

As a non-Sydney person, Manly is my preference of those 2.
Beside this things mentioned, I have enjoyed the Manly Aquarium.
On the other side of the Harbour, there is the Bondi to Coogee ocean front walk.
The Sculptures by the Sea (Bondi to Tamarama segment of the walk in late-October to early November is an interesting outing.

Fort Gellibrand is on the shoreline in my suburb, Williamstown. It was one of a series of forts built during the Crimean War in case of Russian attack (1860s--). Over some years it was equipped with cannon and associated works. A little still left, with some renovations in recent years.
Photos from outside the fence as it is still a reserve regiment headquarters, so no normal entry.

Somewhat inedible, and unpalatable to many, is the Coronation Stone — the Stone of Scone. Now in Edinburgh Castle.Pronounced Skoon.

The National Library has a lot of genealogy resources. My father had chased up ancestors through their records.I am not sure how recent or comprehensive they are, but worth a look.

It sounds like a mole negro in a pie🤷♀️minus the chillis, though he did say it was peppery so perhaps they substituted the spice.
I am pretty sure all mole sauces are made with some amount of chilies.
Mole negro uses smoked chilies. Helps with the dark colour.

Hans, Matt Gilbertson.
He is a pretty well known cabaret performer from Adelaide.
I presume he was a guest performer on the cruise ship.
