Princess has morphed into a cruise line that is nothing like when we started cruising. Every time you turn around there's an additional charge from the moment you book a cruise to the last day you depart the ship.

We're among the cruisers who are shopping around for better value since their loyalty benefits have eroded to practically nil lately.

Interesting, let us know who you come up with as a solution

Someone in our party did have a towel charge once.  It was removed but they still had to trek down to customer service and talk to someone.  So it does; happen, watch your billing.

Wow, never ever heard of that on Princess

Honestly, although we love the US we have had to stop travelling there as the tipping culture seems to be so out of control and it would totally stress us out to the point where we would not be able to enjoy ourselves. We've heard stories of serving staff chasing people out of restaurants if they have left less than 25%. Probably just myth but when I read stories like yours I'm tempted to believe them!

Such a shame, ignore the tipping culture, the only person who needs a tip is wait staff 15% is perfectly adequate, don't believe the hype.

You don't check them out and you can get more than one.  I usually get two.  It's also easy to return them in various places near the pool deck.  If you keep one in your room or take one on shore, be sure to return or you may be charged.

There is no tracking of pool towels, so never a charge

  5. No one expects to be tipped in Europe, so don't worry about it, everyone is paid a reasonable wage, if have the local currency that's fine, but don't bother with the wrong currency in the pkace you are in, you will just look like an ignorant tourist

I haven't cruised yet but I watched a bit of the Princess shows on YouTube. I must say I was HORRIBLY disappointed in what I saw from both Princess and Celebrity.

Someone commented that there really isn't enough time to "tell a story". I couldn't disagree more simply because DCL has production shows that TELL A STORY!!! I'm absolutely uninterested in a bunch of song and dance numbers loosely pigeonholed into a so-called show! I happen to work as a professional pianist for a very major ballet company. This doesn't mean I necessarily want or need to hear great symphonies or operas or ballets on a cruise. It DOES mean I want to be ENTERTAINED! I'm not entertained with some so-called singer or dancer screaming into a microphone while a dozen young idiots dance behind going from one monotonous, two chord pounding song to the next unrelated monotonous, two chord pounding tune!!

Who the hell makes these ridiculous decisions?? Give us a show!! Give us a story!!

Very very rude, the crew work really hard on these shows
