I hope someone on here can assist

A family member, who we gave money for the Cruise, through the Casino at Sea program with NCL booked a Western Mediterranean cruise several months ago and it's past the deadline for refund.

However, unbeknownst to us, the family member has an issue with their US passport and cannot travel to Europe for the Cruise. We are booked to leave Barcelona on May 26th 2024.

At the moment, the other 3 members of the cruise's names are already logged into NCL website and our passport documentation is fine, can we still board the ship without the Casino at Sea family member, who had originally received the free cruise certificate?

I am wondering if anyone else has ever encountered something like this, since it's an odd situation. We paid for the cruise ourselves, but we took advantage of our family member's Casino benefit to receive the free Balcony room. We know that there will be losses now from Hotel and airline tickets for the one member who cannot travel to Europe, but we do not want to cancel the entire trip on account of one person's documentation issues. We do not mind losing some money from a lack of refund, but we're hoping not to lose the entire $10K with excursions.

Thank you for any help in advanced

OP, please come back and let us know if you managed to board.

As long as you book a dedicated solo cabin…Studio, Solo Inside, Solo Oceanview, Solo Balcony…you will have access to the lounge. I have noticed that NCL allocated some of the less desirable locations as solo cabins. If I want to book an Inside cabin with lounge access, the Solo Inside cabins will likely be on Deck 5 where it might be under the theater, in which case, no thanks.

I'm in a solo inside on deck 11, how do you get access to the Studio Lounge, do they give you a special key card?

On the Excel ships (Celebration), Cucina del Capitano, Chibang, and Guys Pig&Anchor are available at no charge the first time you dine there, then I believe it's $8 for additional visits. One "caveat", is you must have Your Time Dining if you want to dine at those spots before 7:30. Those with set time dining must wait until that time to dine at those restaurants.

Last year we did a B2B, ok, side to side from the RCI Harmony of the Seas to the Celebration in Miami. We went a different "route" and debarked the Harmony as soon as we could to get down to the Celebration. Walking was really not an option, or at least a safe option, so we took a cab from the Harmony terminal down to Celebration. With all of that being unknown, we did things as soon as we could. We did wait about an hour to be let into the terminal and start checkin, We were under cover so no sitting in the hot sun, and chatting with others passed the time. We had a great time!!

Thanks for the info, I was hoping that Guy's Pig & Anchor was one of the free for the first time ones and yes we've got Your Time Dining

    Hi,

My wife and I did the same side by side cruise your doing last year a lot of fun and first time for us. Carnival uses a few different terminals during docking days so it’s hard to tell which one you will return to? As far as getting to the celebration after the horizon cruise you will be on your own, the cruise line doesn’t make any special accommodations for this.

We waited until 930 ish before leaving horizon and walked to the terminal F gave porters our bags and started another 7 day trip awesome.

I will caution you that it is VERY crazy busy with trucks, buses cars coming and going so be careful outside moving to next terminal there are no sidewalks on the dock side and the opposite side of street had some walk ways but some were closed for construction. We enjoy lunch the first day at Pig and Anchor restaurant it’s free and nobody there, unlike the buffet which is a mad house. Enjoy

Thank you for the info.  We thought since we were flying in from Europe and the dates tied in we would do both cruises at once and save flying over a second time, having said that we've booked to go from Miami at Christmas too

  5. I wonder if you can help me? We are disembarking Carnival Horizon on 5th May then walking along the pier to board Celebration.  I can see that Horizon is due into Miami at 8am but how late can we get off the ship and what is the earliest (non priority) check in time for Celebration?  We don't realy want to sit in the sun for a couple of hours by the terminal waiting to board.

Next question does anyone know which terminal Horizon will go into and which one Celebration will go out of? I assume it's D and F which according to Google maps is just a 9 minute walk.

Final question, I read somewhere that a couple of the speciality restaurants on Celebration are free for the first visit but now I can't find that post, could someone please enlighten me.

Thanks everyone, we're just doing the final organising/packing this week before flying to US on Friday

  6. I am boarding Horizon in a couple of weeks and following it up with Celebration straight afterward, I can see that the CDs are Lee Mason and Georgia Craig.  My previous two cruises were both with Felipe Couto who was great fun, we kept seeing him around the ship always with a smile on his face and involved in entertaining the guests, what do you think of Lee and Georgia, will I be disappointed?

  7. Just a note, I am on Horizon at the end of the month and Celebration from 5th May, both are showing CT at $119 per person (plus grats)

It does say "Sailing on Panorama, Firenze or Venezia? Your ship has an upgraded Chef’s Table experience! Enjoy an elevated menu with premium options for food and wine"

  8. Last time I sailed with Carnival if you were booked in for the speciality dining on nights 1 or 2 you got a free bottle of wine per table but based on the wording on the website today it looks like you only get it on night 1 now but it is one bottle per couple.

  9. We're doing the ABC itinerary in April on Horizon, we have booked an ATV for Aruba with cliff jumping, in Bonaire we are land sailing and then a semi private tour of North and South Bonaire, for Curacao we are doing a semi private tour to swim with the turtles then go to a nice beach.

    Hello,

We're going on the Horizon in 4 weeks out of Miami, doing the ABC islands. Does anyone know what time the embarkation night Welcome Show is? We're trying to plan a specialty restaurant dinner to coincide with the show. Thanks in advance.

We're on the same sailing, good luck getting an early reservation for the steakhouse on days 1 or 2, fully booked until 8pm

  11. After a few years of being loyal to NCL I recently tried Royal again. The entertainment was on a par with NCL but the organised parties were better,  the food was slightly better and the service was outstanding.

I have been disappointed with NCL cuts to entertainment but the food and service are, in my opinion, still generally good. However on NCL I have noticed that the crew seem a little more downcast these days.

I am now booking my cruises for this year and next and I regret that none of them are with NCL. Perhaps if NCL reinstate the production shows or have an itinerary that I particularly want I will go back.

Well, apparently, the butter has been delicious for years!😂 I was just searching for what type of butter Royal Caribbean used and found this thread from 2006. We just cruised a few weeks ago and thought the butter was the best we’d ever had!

I was on Ovation of the Seas last week and it was Lurpak spreadable

  13. Still having a great time but there have been two more Alpha calls today, I do hope those guests are OK as we are still a good few hours out of Sydney.

Apparently there are over 100 people with covid onboard and they have run out of anti viral medication. We do have 4300 guests onboard though so 100 is still quite a small percentage

  14. I'm in the same cruise and have had no real complaints regarding the food, there is a good choice of fish, beef, chicken, pork and vegan options. I agree there is no turkey but it's not Christmas.  The crew are friendly and helpful.  It was disappointing that we couldn't get off in Auckland but sometimes these things happen.

All in all I would come back on this ship happily and am looking at booking my next cruise already with Royal Caribbean
