  1. i booked my cruise with an online canadian TA.

     

    When i look my reservation in MYNCL i don't see anything that tells me the UBP is included.

     

    I see it on my other reservation direct with NCL.

     

    Is it normal or is there a problem ?

     

    Anyone booked with a TA and UBP can tell me if they see it or not on mYNCL ?

     

    i don't want to learn when i will be oboard that my UBP is not in my reservation.:(

  2. just an update for canadian fellows.

    i just booked a cruise for 2018.

    for canadians who are interested to book in CND$ the current exchange rate was 1.266 on base cruise price and 1.333 on everything else (tax, service charge for the free beverage package, insurance & everything else available on my ncl).

     

    I could not resist to the free drink package available for inside room in the new promo (cabin is 849$ base price per person while drink package is 790$ per person for 10 days) almost free cruise fare :D

     

    i will look forward for a last minute upgrade later if the price are dropping.

     

    otherwise it will be my first inside after 2 suite cruises. :eek:

     

    have a nice cruise ! :)

  3. If you bought it in more than one order then that could be why. Especially if in two names. In that case I bet they gave each person USD500 and will return the excess in two sums of which you have received one.

    Well according to the amenity invoice i received just after calling, the lady has refunded more than needed and then put back some OBC to come back to $1000. (I was on hold for 25 minutes when she did it).

     

    Hard to believe but i had Only 10*75$ (750) on my own name and now it shows $900 on my name and only 100$ on my wife name. So she added 150$ on my name that i never purchased by myself.

     

    So confusing :confused:

    amenity invoice now shows $1000 OBC total

    NCL.com vacation summary shows $1300 OBC total

    NCL.com Payment summary page shows $850 OBC payment

    NCL.com Make a payment page shows only $225 (gift & more)

    Just half of the extra $900 has been refunded yet.

     

    How could they be worst ? :eek:

  4. I just called to get my 900$ extra OBC back (i had 1900$ OBC for 5 persons).

    I will probably prebook more shore excursions instead.;)

     

    But looking at my NCL account after the call and the new amenity invoice they just sent me everything looks wrong. The numbers are not good and are all different. Anyway i'm getting used to the NCL website glitch. I will wait to see if the refund on my CC is for the right amount and then ask again for a new amenity invoice to see if everything is back to $1000 OBC.

     

    I'm disapointed from NCL for this situation but I will forget it and enjoy my cruise. But I will certainly consider another cruise line for my next cruise. Not saying I will never cruise with NCL again but they lost my loyalty.:(

     

    But the worst is what I have read on forums about that situation where many where bashing canadians because of that. It leaves me a sour taste...:(

     

    I just got only Half of my refund on my CC today

     

    Again Im very unhappy with NCL :mad:

     

    I will have to call again, very frustating !

    It really doesn't matter much, as there is plenty of time but I don't understand why NCL keep shooting themselves in the foot like this. They gave the dates a few weeks ago and they just never seem to meet their own schedules.

     

    Still nothing at 8 this morning. Another mistake from NCL. :(

     

    When i started reading NCL forum a few years ago almost every thread were positive about NCL, these days it's bad, bad and worst.

    Every week or so there is another negative problem that popup.

     

    I just opened an account on celebrity cruise website. Unless i see a great deal on NCL, i Will probably switch for next cruise.

  6. So the lower rate? If so, why not purchase all the things you can prior to the cruise, that way you get the lower rate on many of the things, that is unless one was only interested in cashing the $'s in at the higher rate.

     

    I am in the same situation but prebooking a beachday excursion if it's a rainy day is not so good. I would have prefer to have more OBC and book shore excursions at the last minute.

    I will disembark the Dawn at New Orleans January 2017 with my wife and my 3 teens.

    Looks like we will be out of the ship no later than 10 AM.

     

    I will book an hotel for an extra night after cruise but will probably not be able to check-in before 3 pm.

     

    How can we spend that 5 hours (with a lot of luggage:eek:) ???

     

    I don't want to wait in the lobby of the hotel but i don't see how we could do some activities with 5 large suitcase and 5 backpacks.

     

    Any suggestions are welcome.

  9. Your written English is very good and I bet your spoken English is better than their spoken French so no apologies needed.

     

    Do you have a PCC? if so, you can communicate with them through email, I do it all the time.

     

    Yes my written English is much better. No one speak french when you call ncl.

     

    On my first reservation i didn't have a PCC. I booked directly by phone with NCL. Having problems, i asked for a PCC but when i called him he said he could not do anything for me since i didn't book with him. By two times he listened to me then transfered me to NCL. Not helping at all.

     

    For my second reservation, i decided to give it a try, i called him but he was on vacations so i ended booking directly with NCL.

     

    This being said, i have often received an excellent service by calling directly NCL but not always. The trick is when you didn't get what you want. Just call again and you will randomly speak to another person. ;)

  10. If you click on "make a payment", your balance due is correct. Mine was...

     

    Payments are missing on my reservation too. :mad:

     

    And when I click on Make a payment I get this famous message from NCL :

     

    UH-OH.

    Looks like our site needed to take a short vacation.

    400 - Bad Request

     

    FDR should take care of that now! IMO, it is worst for the corporate image then trays left in hallways.

     

    It is not my first problem with my reservations.

     

    On my first reservation two years ago, i had :

    - missing OBC,

    - the penny problem (paid in full but still showing a penny balance and because of that can not print EDOCS).

    - not able to book the Cucina online (had to call)

     

    On my next cruise reservation i already had :

    - missing OBC again ( i had to call, cancel them and purchase again to have it appears on myNCL)

    - and now that payment missing

    - what will be next ???

     

    I'm not excellent in English speaking (I'm french canadian) so every call to NCL is hard for me and they don't offer email communication that would be so easier for me.

     

    I seriously consider another cruiseline for next reservation. I'm thinking to try Celebrity now that they offer more relax dressing code.

  11. It is possible to ask for it if the price of the upgrade cabin goes below what you paid and you are before final payment.

     

    On my frist cruise, I have got a free upgrade from balcony to mini suite after price drop. (i called to get that).

     

    I ended paying an extra for another upgrade to a suite (i also called for that).

    At that time they were on my vacation summary (for dec 30th).

    (They are now charged on my CC.)

    But i don't see them anymore on my vacation summary and when i click on "print booked items" i see one 100$ OBC (not 5) for dec 29th (day before my cruise) :confused::eek:

     

    I think i will call and ask them to refund me. i don't want to fight on it when I will be onboard.:mad:

     

    It was still all mixed up this morning on the 'make a payment' page showing only one OBC amount instead of 5 and 5 on the other summary payment page:confused:. I will not take a chance and I just asked for a refund. I will buy it again later hoping it will be right next time.:rolleyes:Now i just hope i will see that refund on my CC ina few days !!!

  14. Even if they keep the same itineraries, I Would be interested in longer cruises where the ships stays at port overnight. (I will have one like this in Istanbul next month).

     

    It's win-win IMHO.

     

    Passengers have more time to visit and can have evening or late night activities without the stress to come back in time at the end of the day.

     

    Cruiseline save fuel and can sell more shore excursions.

  15. Stewards that service suites do not have as many total rooms as those who do not service suites.

     

    Larger room = more service required.

     

    If a suite steward does 4 suite/day 2 hours each he works 8 hours.

    if a balcony steward does 8 balcony/day 1 hour each he works 8 hours also.

     

    Now the question is do they get DSC by number of rooms or by numbers of hours worked ? I believe they get the same share of the DSC !
