  1. My family and I booked 2 inside Bella cabins before the drinks on us promo. My travel agent repriced our cruise when the drinks on us promo came out and it would have been about $200 more pp.....so stuck with our original booking.

  2. I found the Bubbles program to be worth it. I like being able to order a soda in the MDR, showrooms, bars, etc and not having to pay over two bucks a pop. Sure they drinks are severed from a warm can but I can live with that. Sometimes the wait staff when they realize you have the Bubbles card are not always Johnny on the spot to serve you like they are for those paying full price for booze.
I agree. I like the convenience of it. But I never had the issue of a server or bartender not wanting to serve me. In the MDR, my Coke was usually already on the table or brought to me within a minutes of sitting down. And the atrium bar, they were always quick even when the bar is packed......

  3. Yes, I said that I know that currently not everyone has to get it, but did this CHANGE in the past year. I need to know if we were that dumb that we didn't realize we could just click the "remove" button!!!
I don't think so. We did the same about 2 years ago where only 2 of 4 is us got the Bottomless bubbles........

No fountains. You will need to go the bar, etc for a drink.....

  4. Okay a NEGATIVE coming up!!!

Not the best day in ST Thomas!

We booked through MSC the Peaks Pirates and Plunder tour.

    Biggest waste of money ever!

You got taken to the top of the Island for the Peak bit, then comes the Pirate bit

Assume the Plunder is this gift shop at the top of said peak?c43999398ce7a77a8ddb925dd0449604.jpg

We then got dropped off in the main shopping area about an hour later approx 10.30 and was told there was a boat back to ship at either 12 noon or 1pm!

Absolute waste of money and time on the island!

Also was a pain being harassed at every shop we walked by!

We did an island tour with Royal Caribbean and it was awesome! We did stop here and I got a non-alcoholic banana daiquiri and I must it was the best thing I have ever had. I was with my mom and she took a sip and she complained that I didn't get a big enough size lol.

But it's too bad the excursion wasn't what you were expecting........

  5. SnowManBob - this will also be our first MSC and have some of the same reservations when reading the reviews. But I'm taking all of it with a grain of salt. Because I think people will have an expectation and will compare one cruiseline with another.

But for those who have cruised with MSC, Is there anything that might surprise us for first cruisers with MSC? Example I keep reading that they used to charge people of water in the MDR, Is that true?

  6. Fort Lauderdale airport has a free shuttle to downtown and for a small fee they have a shuttle going by the beach, a mall (can't remember the name of it), and a touristy part of downtown with plenty of shops and restaurants. And the airport has luggage storage for the day until about 5pm. We had a late flight on our last cruise and that's what we did......

  7. My first Carnival cruise was in the Glory. It was definitely smaller than what I'm used to since I have cruised on RCI's Freedom and Oasis. But loved it! Met some really nice people and got to know some of the entertainment staff because my brother and I went to a lot of the trivia. And we cruised two weeks before Christmas and the ship was decorated for the holidays.

We are booked for Magic in 3 weeks :)

  8. I'm going to add that they don't necessarily change the sheets and towels everyday unless you ask. If the towels are on the floor in the bathroom, they replace the towels. And I think I read in another thread that they change the bed sheets, etc every other day. Plus if you don't let them in, how else are you going to get your towel animals every evening?!?!

  9. My parents and their friends LOVED Oasis. And they are in the 70's. It was my brother and I's first cruise ever. We sailed on her about 4.5 years ago. There was so much to do and see. What they really like compared to Carnival was the different venues for live music with different styles. They have sailed with Carnival before this cruise and they it was much better. I do find the food on RCI better in quality and variety (as in ethnic foods like Chinese, port inspired food, etc IN windjammer). However, we have cruised on RCI's Freedom and Carnival's Glory since then, and have a cruise on Magic this December.

Unfortunately to the OP, only you can make the decision as you know what you like and don't like. But do give Oasis A chance as it's like try it definitely once. Especially if it's the same price as Sunshine.

  10. I'm traveling with my 70 year old parents and their friends and my older brother on a cruise in December. We plan on doing this. There is no kids with us....lol...this post made me feel better about booking this breakfast since there are no kids in our group....lol
