On the Glory you will not need a card for the lights, but you will need one for the safe that is in the rooms.

What do you mean by using a card for the safe? I'll be going on my first Carnival cruise in December on the Glory (Eastern).

Also, how much was the Behind the Fun??? I would love to do this!

Our first RCI cruise was on Oasis and we signed up for an excursion in Cozumel for the boat/submarine tours. And the waters were very choppy. We met up with the excursion group and the guide said you have the option of going or getting a refund if you think you can't tolerate the waters. If you went on the excursion they made you sign saying that you agreed to go on the excursion even after you were warned about the choppy waters. We opted for the refund. We went back to the excursion desk and got a refund no problem.

The excursion tour/guide should have given you the same option especially if it was raining.

Assuming they have qualified stylists, that doesn't seem too outrageous at all. Not far off what land based salons charge.

It's probably a sale announcement since I got the email, and I have yet to take my first Carnival cruise (which is in December).......

I have worn jeans in the mdr (not on formal nights) and had no issues.

Did you hire a taxi or just walked around? I hear San Juan is pretty much walkable......

St. Thomas is an awesome place!! Did you do Magen's Bay last time? I love that beach as well!

We did an island tour. It was awesome! It was an open bus and went to different places. We stopped at this huge store where they had the famous banana daquiris. The most delicious banana daquiri ever! I'd take taxi there just to get one again!! Lol

This will be my second time to St. Thomas.....love it!!

My wife and I are also flying into FLL and then we will take a private transfer via Go shuttle to our hotel in Miami. We arrive the day before embarkation . We are staying at the Marriott Courtyard airport south . There is a supermarket 1.5 miles from the hotel . We will walk to the market. We will pick up our canned soda, bottled water then take either public transportation back to the hotel or have the hotel shuttle pick us up at the super market. Courtyard Marriott also has a free shuttle to Miami ports for their guests.

Free shuttle to the Miami port?? Hmmm I'll have to look into this hotel.

Keep in mind that the Replenish package does not include Starbucks kiosks (like on Oasis and Allure). But if the Café serves Starbucks brand drinks then it's included (like Freedom, where the Promenade Café only serves Starbucks brand).

I had in on Freedom last November and loved it! It was definitely worth the money!

My hubby and I will be sailing with you on Halloween! We are so excited! As for the seasickness I would suggest ginger pills. I found them on Amazon and worked for me till I got my sea legs. I'm thinking after 14 days I'm going to get land sick ha ha ha!

Gravol does have ginger pills and it works! I also hear green apples are good for seasickness......my last cruise in November on a RCI cruise, our waiter says green apples work too. We had rough seas on our last day and a lot of people had gotten seasick. Funny i had green apple flavoured candy when I was feeling a little on the cruise, and it worked!

Tell me about it! When I sailed on the Valor back in 2005 - way before the 2.0 upgrades, the Fish and Chips was the first place we headed when we sailed on her the second time! I didn't know about it the first time!!

 

Now we are in a situation of what to try first when we get on the ship. The fish and Chips, Guys Burgers or Blue Iguana Cantina!!!

I have been checking everyday for the fttf. I booked a month ago for our cruise in December, so naturally all the fttf is sold out already. But i keep checking.

BUT, it has a taste bar and lots of other great dining options such as:

 

Guy's Burger Joint, Blue Iguana Cantina, Burrito bar, two different buffets, two different sit down restaurants, a steakhouse, four separate bars, a pizza place, fish and chips, a deli and several 24-hour froyo machines. Oh, plus room service at anytime of the day or night.

I know!!! Looking forward to Guy's, burrito bar and the fish chips!!!! Actually I'm just looking forward to the entire cruise lol

There isn't a Sushi Bar anymore.

NOOOOO!!!!! Lol

Oh well.....there will be other foods to try!

I booked Glory for a December cruise. This will be my first Carnival cruise! This is making me excited!! I didn't know there is a sushi bar on Glory!! Whoohoo.......

Other non-alcoholic mocktails covered by the BB sticker are:

Roy Rogers - cola with grenadine syrup (much sweeter than a cherry coke)

Cranberry Kiss - club soda or seltzer with cranberry juice

Cinderella - ginger ale with lemon, orange, and pineapple juices

Afterglow - orange and pineapple juice with grenadine syrup

Virgin Mimosa - orange juice and ginger ale

Virgin Mary - tomato & lemon juice accented with Worcestershire & Tabasco sauce

Virgin Sunset - lemon-lime soda slowly poured over orange & pineapple juices with a grenadine base (when done right it will be a layered mocktail)

 

Basically any combination of juices &/or sodas with modest additions of bar syrups or sauces should be covered as long as the blender is not needed to make them.

Unfortunately many of the bar tenders do not know some of these by name and you need to instruct them when you order the drink.

I was actually going to ask about soda and juice combos! This totally answered my question. Too bad they don't have a package like RCI where it included specialty coffee/tea, virgin cocktails and bottled water......

My mom has a Chinese legal name (passport, driver's license, etc) but goes by an easier English name. The waiter, assistant waiter, and room attendant just asked what our names are and she just gives her English name and never had a problem. She doesn't really care, but it's easier to use the English name, and she doesn't bother changing the name on the set sail pass.

In November, we boarded around 1ish. Windjammer was a little busy (not too crazy) but they did open up Giovianne's and Chops for extra seating. We sat in Chop's and we had a nice view of the port and the other ships!

About 10 years ago or so, my parents went on a Carnival cruise (their first cruise) and had a great time! That's when they got hooked onto cruising.

Two years ago, we went on a family vacation on Oasis of the Seas (my brother and I first cruise, my parents second cruise) and had an awesome time! We chose Oasis because of the TV show, Might Ships, and it was the biggest cruise ship to date when the show aired. I asked my mom which cruise she liked more. She said even though she like Carnival, she like Oasis because there was always something to do or see.

We are now going on our third family cruise in December on Carnival Glory. A smaller and older ship. But looking forward to it!

Replenish for me! I don't drink alcoholic drinks. But this package is great as it included the soda, bottles water, the specialty coffees/teas/hot chocolate, freshly squeezed juice and virgin drinks!

I definitely made it work while for me to get it....since I was on Freedom the Café Promenade served Starbucks brand drinks, I had like two a day with a couple of bottles of water thrown in. Juice in the morning, and soda and virgin drinks throughout the day....AND that you can use the package on CocoCay and Labadee is great!

They leave the same day. That would be a little hard to do. [emoji16]
