  1. I don't know the exact answer to your question, bc we only took a taxi FROM Mountain Top back to the pier. But the taxi to the gardens from pier was $10pp, and the taxi from Mountain Top to pier was $10pp, so I think it's safe to assume it'd be $10pp?

We don't drink, but it looked like they're famous for those banana daquiris! Also, the shopping there was the best priced stuff we found on the cruise. Got our kids trinkets and a new bathing suit cover up there.

Ok that'll give me an idea on price. I don't drink either so I asked them to make me a virgin daquiri. It was soooo good!!

  2. I stayed at the Comfort Suites Miami Airport North, 657 Minola Drive Miami Florida back in September. They offer both airport and port shuttle for free. They also have a really great breakfast. Hotel was affordable. The only problem was not much to do in the area. It didn't matter to me since we arrived about 9pm so we were just looking for a place to sleep.

That was one of the hotels we were looking at for our cruise in a few weeks, however, the price jumped by $100. So we ended up booking La Quinta East. Another good thing about the La Quinta is that it's on the bus shuttle to the Dolphin Mall and the Miami international mall.

  3. Thanks for doing this. Not sure why you didn't get the attention that it deserved right after you posted. I will be sailing on the Glory in December and just found this thread. Did you enjoy your cruise? Any tips for folks who have not cruised on the Glory before?

I was just going to say that! I will be on Glory in December too and I have been looking for everything on Glory and I don't know how I missed this thread!!!

  4. We had a cabin right underneath the mini golf and did not have any issues at night since no one played at night. We did get a little noise from the Aqua Theatre but it stopped at about 10ish at night. It was great for movie watching! During the day, it was noiser but it was fun to people watch and watching the people on the zip line! We had an AWESOME attendant too!!!!

  5. I will be going on my first Carnival cruise (this will be my parents second Carnival cruise), and it will be on Glory December 12 to 19. It is a week before Christmas. I know the decorations will be up by then. Just out of curiousity, will they have any special activities, etc for the holiday because it is SO close to Christmas? Or will it be on Christmas only?? I am thinking not....

  6. Unfortunately Glory won't compare to Oasis or Freedom ....apples to Watermelons once again.

Oh I know. Oasis was my first cruise and then going on the Freedom was differently different. I know Glory is a smaller older ship. And I know it will be totally different the RCI but I am looking forward to it! I am going with an open mind :)

  7. I'll let you know in December when I cruise on Carnival for the first time.

My first two cruise were on Oasis and Freedom and LOVED both cruises! We chose Carnival this time because of the itinerary and price.

Although my parents' first cruise (was probably about 10 year ago or so) was on Carnival and they had a wonderful time!

  8. To the OP - if you are visiting CocoCay or Labadee (their private ports), the package will cover for a Coke on those islands.

I was on Freedom last year and had the Replenish package. And loved it! My brother had the Refreshment and liked it. I find it's well worth it so you don't have to worry about the costs at the end of the cruise.

  9. Well Helllooo Miss BritBrie!

Let me just start off with a thank you! I appreciate all the time and effort you put into this forum, and even all the time replying to comments and questions. It took me awhile to read everything you wrote and posted, so I can only imagine how much time you've spent creating it all.. It seems like everyone else in here appreciated it as well. By the time I was done looking thru it all, you became a Carnival Glory forum celebrity lol.

I'm going on the Glory Dec 12th, and for the last couple months i have been searching all over the internet for any good reviews, chats, info, pics, etc. relating to the carnival glory cruise. And now I finally found what I've been looking for, for the most part, all thanks to your post. Beforehand I couldnt find much info and pics in one spot. So good job! I doubt I'll have the patience to try to do this when I get back from my cruise.

I too will be on the same cruise! And i have to agree that finding pictures and reviews are hard to find on the Glory.

  10. You need a card with a magnetic strip on the back to close and open the safe that's in your stateroom. They discourage the use of your Sail & Sign card for that, so we always bring an old card for that.

Behind the Fun costs $95 per person and the duration is almost 4 hours. You can sign up at the shore excursions desk once you're onboard.

Oh ok! If they discourage you from using your Sail & Sign card, why the magnetic strip for the safe?!?! Ahh well....good to know in advanced....I don't have an old card since this will be my first Carnival cruise.....

    Thanks!
