I just checked the St Maarten webcam and there are only 3 ships in port.  That's a slow day....most of the time when we are there the port is packed.  Will you get off the ship or does that mean missing out on too much Flower Power fun?

Wow, I didn't realize David F was 85!  Amazing his voice still sounds so good.  I'm so happy it was an amazing concert. I look forward to hearing the clip tomorrow if it uploads.  The internet connection on the Edge was great, I could get used to that.  Wish it was on every ship.

Yes, we will see Jefferson Starship tonight and Silver will see Gary Puckett. We all see all shows. The Tommy James show is off the ship in San Juan at the Pan Am terminal right next to the ship. We all will see one show.

I love Jefferson Starship!  I have a recording on our TV of a Starship concert in Los Angeles (looks like a studio setting)   and they interviewed the band.  Here's what Kathy had to say. Kathy (the female vocalist) said she grew up as a fan of Jefferson Airplane/Starship.  As far as Grace Slick being a female rock singer, she is up at the top, like royalty. She's the queen. The first time Kathy heard White Rabbit she said what is that?  It blew my mind.  She bought a vinyl record and played it over & over again.  Her mom knocked on her door to asked if she was OK.  She had to keep playing it 'cause it's too short.  

Kathy's first encounter with Grace was when she was on vacation in Maui and Grace was selling her art, as she paints now.  Walking down the street she saw the sign about the art signing and when she met Grace she was intimidated and it was an awkward encounter.

The following year Kathy went back with some friends who bought a painting.  She was doing the Love Janice Joplin show and friends introduced her to Grace and it was really weird.  She felt like she was talking to an older version of herself.  They talked about how you're just cut from the same cloth and fate brought her to this place and time. 

She's getting to know Grace a lot better and she's coming around. Since Paul Kanter passed away she's really stepped up to give us the blessing to keep going.  She gets choked up because Grace's music meant so much to Kathy and now she became the singer of her band.  They want to keep the music alive as it's still so great.  

Grace gets fan letters from people in their 20's that are so into the Airplane.  It doesn't matter what generation you are, the music just speaks to you, Kathy said.

I'm loving your trip report.  I appreciate that you're writing so much as it sounds like a very busy cruise.  You are going to need another cruise for R&R after this one.  On the daily I see that Gary Puckett is playing at 6:30 for the Gold seating and Jefferson Starship is playing at 9:00 for the Silver seating.  Will they switch the next night so each seating gets to see both groups?  

I love that the party and music started right away!  Best sail-away party ever!

Ah, there's where all the action is!  On the pool deck.  I was wondering where everyone was as I didn't see a lot of people waving and they didn't zoom the camera in on the ship.

I am glad you finally got a resolution.  It's ridiculous that Celebrity wouldn't give you proper compensation while on-board.  Then you had to waste time and be aggravated after your trip.  sheesh  Very poor customer service by X.  We sailed on the Edge B2B and smelled "the odor" several times as we were walking the hallways.  Thank goodness, never had the odor in our cabin.  Take care and I hope your next cruise is odor free.

I loved reading your review lol!  Thanks for taking the time to write it.  We did a B2B on the Edge (in Aqua & S3) so I could relate to a lot of what you said.  

For those asking about the exercise equipment name...the Exercycle is made by TechnoGym. I don’t recall if the weight machines are by the same company.  There are also a few Peloton bikes that are supposed to be for classes and suite guests.  But if you go into the gym when there isn’t any employee supervision such as a port day, you can try the Peloton.

The Edge has neutral colors but now I’m looking at patterns in my pics. This tile floor in the Thermal suite was nice.  It could be a little slippery with wet feet.  Those crystals are beautiful.

This is a tile wall in the Thermal Suite area.  Busy but not a stomach upset like the cubes.

Maybe I'll buy some lottery tickets and if I win, I can do a review!

I agree with you about the cube tiles, they make me slightly nauseous.  Those tiles are popular right now.  I see them on the remodeling shows.  I enjoyed the neutral color palette on the Edge.  I saw the cube tiles somewhere else on the ship, maybe when we toured the spa?  I had to look away. 

I would like to know how rough the water is when you sail around the horn.  Have a wonderful trip!

Marilyn,   Off topic...I hope you will do a review of the music cruise.  Would love to go on that cruise but it sounds like it's difficult to get a cabin as people who have cruised before get first preference.  Did you get a cabin the first year you tried?

Here’s the view of the IV cabins from the balcony.  I did notice that one of the IV cabins seemed to have their window open all the time. They must have enjoyed hearing the sound of the waves...so relaxing.

Great information for everyone - thanks! I felt the same way about invading privacy when I was in a side S3. One person who was in one of those IV's talked about it in his review. Did you feel that you were in a fish bowl (since the windows aren't one way)? 😉

No, I didn't feel like I was in a fish bowl.  But I don't know who was looking my way!  I made sure I was dressed properly before going on the balcony lol.  I guess if you want more privacy, it would be better to book one of the middle cabins.
