Thank you for posting. We are always going on oasis class ships and love the entertainment. We are expecting the worst with this ship. We are on the march 5th sailing. Are there any comedians? How has food been. Another issue with this ship is having to eat in windjammer for breakfast and lunch. I dislike the windjammer on all Royal ships. I hope you are having a great time.

You have to eat in the windjammer but dislike it and booked anyway ... good thing you are prepared for the worst

We might cheat a bit.  We are staying the night before in the Hyatt Place that is just at the entrance to the port.  While I don't like the idea of walking down the road between the airport and the bay, if the traffic is backed up, it might be easier for us to just hoof it down to the terminal.

I've never known buckeyes to be the sharpest tools in the shed

We are going on 4/1 to these ports. Would love to hear anything 😁

Trying to get enough interest in Mystic Man eco-adventure catamaran on St. Lucia.  $99/pp and need 10-12 total people for the 4/1 Voyager sailing. Let me know if interested.

I’ll pay RCI prices not to sail with Carnival!!! Although I’ve heard that Carnival is not cheap anymore

When we started sailing with RCI in 2004 menus were much weaker than now.

Also I remember when Classic section was not a thing on RCI, but also on Celebrity or Holland.

And that was without huge inflation we are having now. Do you know how difficult is hiring abroad is now?

It's probably been a while since you cruised Carnival as I think it has evolved quite a bit.  Their MDR food is on par with RCCL and their casual food is much better than the typical RCCL ship.  Their comedy club is excellent.  Carnival's main shows are not very good.

I once asked my TA," Should I contact him if I see a price that seemed significantly better than what we acquired?" He said absolutely because it is easier for him to change the price if the price is currently available. He admitted that he could not keep track of all of the deals for each customer on a daily basis and the request for price comparison would only take a few minutes.

I tend to not bother with the $0 to $50 increments but once it approached $75 or more, I notify him. In some cases, he explains that the decrease comes with the caveat that my $200 next cruise deposit needs to be increased to $500. In some cases, he explains that in getting the lower price, I could lose the negotiated OBC that was not associate with next cruise. Many small disclaimers which limit the application of the decreased price to my specific cruise.

I have hit the jackpot and saved over $400 per cabin on some cruises by checking them every day. Some of the decreases only occurred for three days or less and it is best to do it immediately. The prices then went even higher than my original price one week later. He stated it is hard to try and negotiate if it is not current.

Like @Biker19noted, most of the time, they try to get the discount for you. It seems like your contact was more interested in not giving you any breaks which might cost the cruise line goodwill. Your comments suggest they left a bad taste in your mouth, and this is not good sales.

Engineroom Snipe, I have a question for you and I was unable to send you a message.  Could you send me an email at soccercummings@cinci.rr.com

  6. We just booked 1st time on Celebrity although we've cruised on Royal many times.  Can I switch our booking to a travel agent for additional perks/OBC?  Where do I find a good TA?  I had a good one and since he has retired, I can't find a good one with good perks and one that will reprice when there are price reductions.
