It varies by length and room booked, as well as the cruise you're booking, I think. They generally have an "up to" price. On an upcoming cruise in a B4 we got $400 per person for a total of $800. It really does depend on various factors though. I have another that we only get $300 total, but it was a lower category. There are some promotions that the onboard discount doesn't combine with. You have to decide what is best.

Orv unfortunately they dont make it easy..some day someone is going to figure out an easy way to have us book!! I just hope I am still cruising..

Dear Oceania; How about this as a reasonable compromise? If you don’t want to go into a port for political reasons, I have no problem with that. Your ship.  In this case, the whale hunts are scheduled and advertised years in advance. Just don’t advertise you’re going into that port, on that cruise, during that period!! How hard is that?

However, imo, it’s totally bull crap to schedule and advertise a port, during a period you want to skip, then cancel the port on the cruise without early notification. It’s unprofessional and borders on fake advertising.

    FYI

No one from O is reading this board....send any messages to them directly

Also have a GTY D -- on a fully wait-listed voyage in September.  So I'm interested in your comments.  FP was in June.  Don't really expect a higher level cat.  Will be happy just to be back onboard.

Seems like cruise is oversold, so patiently waiting to see when/if I'll be assigned.  T&C's says they can bump you, but don't think it's likely to occur.  Assignment could be up to and including embarkation day.

If you have a GTY they will NOT bump you..you WILL be on the ship in a D or above

Interesting reading these comments about how Oceania handles stateroom assignment.

In 2021 we booked a cruise on Vista for a concierge cabin with an extended balcony. All correspondence with Oceania reflected that cabin until we received our sailing information notebook. It showed a different cabin without an extended balcony. Since we never requested a change and we were never asked if we would give up the extended balcony, my travel agent and I asked Oceania why, when, and who made this change.  After weeks of no response, Oceania said they have no answer to those questions, but offered a $500 ship board credit.

I am appalled.  We book in 2021 and they boot us out to accommodate someone who comes along at the last minute? And we lose the extended balcony on a 18 days cruise with only $500 compensation?  Why don’t they give the new occupants the $500 credit and give us back the stateroom?

This will be our 17th cruise with Oceania, plus we are booked for a November 2024 Penthouse.  Unless someone higher up on the upcoming cruise gives us appropriate compensation, I will do enough cruises on this cruise line to get my free cruise and then walk away for good.  I have sailed on no other cruise line since I first stepped foot on the Regatta the first year oceania started sailing.

the worse thing is it seems no one at Oceania cares.

Please get on touch with me before going through all of the above and let me see what I can do..

You would think, BUT, make sure your cruise is not on the Summer Sale. I had the Ultimate promo also, and Simply More is hands down a better deal for me. We're talking thousands, not hundreds. I still have everything I had before and more, at a much better price.

Nope, I mean Influencers paid for posting.

    It’s a business.

Wow if you are right please tell me where to sign up because Oceania does not do that or I would be one whatever they are...

There has seemed to be an influx of negativity to this site lately. Seriously folks, life is good, we can afford to take nice vacations, look on the bright side, not everyone is out to trick you or steal your money.

Oh Orv, said so well..I try not to even read this any more and certainly do my best not to write on here unless it is fluff..no more help..the new people on this board dont appreciate it or believe what I say..

Hope you have lots of big O points..

    Regards,

    Jancruz1

P.S. I personally love Simply More from the name to the way you book it no more questions about what goes with what..so easy!

    @grifdoglover

Perhaps someone on board dropped the ball regarding the Mid Cruise follow up but I can say in the past 5 years and over a dozen cruise segments sailed, we have never not been followed up with due to a critical issue on board. In fact they have followed up multiple times by multiple staffers to the same issue, especially if it was under the purview of the F and B Director.
I recall dropping by the Concierge desk in our Lounge and he was doing follow up by a list provided him by his boss AND CALLING EVERY GUEST. They do take things seriously so if any guest has a significant issue, it is in every guests best interest if they would make the issue known, be it in the Survey or to Reception or a Concierge. There is nothing worse than a disgruntled guest, IMHO. THEY WANT YOU RETURNING, believe me.

As for uninvited guests at the O Club Ambassador’s Party, I must say I am guilty of extending personal invitations or just having new Oceania guest friends join us in line. I will often clear it with the Ambassador before the party and have always been told it was OK to bring them along. Our new friends have been amazed at the number of guests at our Party and the numbers of cruises guests have taken.  Perhaps I get away with it because we are at the Platinum level but we did it long before we reached Platinum. Nothing to be concerned about and there is “No Secret Handshake” needed.

    Enjoy,

    Mauibabes

If we are on board you can have someone take our place, I have been to one repeaters party in 20 years and that was when I got my first pin....I was in the medical center when the GM came running in and said you have to come to Regatta Lounge you are the only couple getting a pin..so of course I left the doctor and went to get our pin.

    LOL

I would be much happier with that than excursions, but of course excursions is where there's money to be made.

If there's a lack of availability on shore excursions, what then?  You can bet the money won't be refundable.

    Correct not refundable

    This is correct!

One of the current great unknowns is whether the credit can be used for ANY shore excursions, or any shore excursion  from a short list as is the current OLife program.

    Only 3 more days! 😂

I can tell you for sure you can use your money toward ANY tour they have..

@Jancruz I will give it a week or so and see what happens.  You know when sometimes you hear something that is to good to be true.  The original number was to good to be true.  Easy to let that go and call it a mistake.  Pressing it in a situation like this could truly negatively effect a new team member.

However, I totally get your point.

Cruise well and enjoy every moment.

IMHO if that team member made such a big mistake he/she should be negatively affected that is not right..Good luck..I will not post on this any more..if you need any advice contact me..

On the Topic of Guarantee Assignments, I took some advice from many of you here on CruiseCritic.com.  I have a PH3 Guarantee for a November 9, 2023 sailing on the Riviera.  The ship is ALL "Waitlist" including all three PH categories.  Above the PH, the Oceania Suites is a Guarantee for new bookings.  The Vista Suites has two available and the Owners Suite has three available.

I reached out to my Travel Agent last week.  I asked for her to let Oceania know, I was open to a "Paid Upgrade".  Thank you for the advice to share this information with my agent.  Today, my agent called me with Oceania on the other line.  She shared the "Paid Upgrade" offer.  I immediately said "YES".  My agent verified twice verbally on the phone. I ran to get my wallet to give my agent my credit card.  Side note, my final payment is NOT due until August 11, 2023, yet I paid in full two weeks ago well ahead of the deadline.

In a matter of thirty seconds to get my AMX, the Oceania Agent changed the upgrade cost to several thousands of dollar per person more. As normal, my agent asked to speak to a supervisor and asked me if she could call me back. The outcome was a hard "NO" to the original offer but the situation is in my records.

I am sharing this with this board because I want you all to know my feeling on this.  Mistakes happen.  The Amount Given was so reasonable I could not believe my ears.  I thought for the briefest moment that the "Paid Upgrade Fairy" was alive and well.  These kinds of situation happen with all brands.  They hire new folks, those folks make a mistake.  Do I wish it was my "Lucky Day", sure who would not.  Just happy to be cruising to Europe for the first time in my life.

Cruise well and enjoy every moment.

I sure would find out what happened and not let it go so fast but thats me..
