I chose 12:30, but I guess it doesn't really matter when you do a pre-cruise tour and arrive with their transfer.

I booked the river excursion for us and Denali flights for our friends at 6:30 (latest available times) in Talkeetna, so I really hope we get there on time.

For the check in time, we can always change it but I believe you are right that our check in doesn't matter.

We are supposed to receive more details from RCL soon.

I noticed looking through my AMX Everyday Blue card there is a $200 statement credit on $1000 spent on NCL expiring in early June.  I made a $1000 payment on booked cruise and saw statement credit of $200 already.  Check it out on any AMX card as these can be hit or miss depending on what type of card you have.  Have additional card holders on our account so can do this 3 times and save $600.

check the terms, it should just be one per account

Glad you got a reply....I had asked for input but got none. I heard of people using it on board but am not willing to risk it.  ....I did buy s9me for a different cruise line using them to pay for the trip. That is fairly easy.

The ones that can be used onboard are the full priced ones issued/sold by RCL.

I'm looking at a cruise for myself and 3 children.  NCL looks suitable but when calculating costs, WiFi looks very expensive.  They're teens so want to use their phones every day - not all day of course but it seems I'd have to pay $30 + gratuity + tax for myself and then $16+gratuity+tax for each of them so it's around $100 per day, which, over a 10 day cruise is $1000.  That's kind of putting me off NCL as it increases the cost so much.  I can't find any 'full cruise' package so is that $1000 my only option ?   ( And that's for the basic service, no video calls/streaming).  Is there a cruise line which includes WiFi or has a whole-cruise package that's not so crazy priced?

Second question;  if I pay for just two packages, can I share them - i.e. I log off and then another device can log on?

Finally, according to this:  "Norwegian Bliss, Breakaway, Dawn, Epic, Gem, Getaway, Jade, Jewel, Pearl, Sky, Spirit, Star, Sun, Pride of America, and Prima. While the remainder of the vessels in the NCL fleet offer wifi to guests only within the Internet Cafe. "  Is that correct?   We will only be able to use the package by travelling to an Internet cafe every time ?  Not in the cabin or lounge/deck/restaurant areas?

I guess in protest I can have the 'gratuities' removed (I wish everyone would do that in order that they change the pricing model so it's more transparent and prices are fully inclusive).

    thanks,

    you misinterpreted this line:

Norwegian Cruise Line offers specific spaces onboard its ships for guests to access the internet, in addition to offering wifi packages to purchase.

You need to go to the cafe and use their computers if you don't buy wifi or have your own device

Thanks....I just did that on a random cruise that they've offered me, and was able to see the available cabins.

Now...I just have to patiently wait for a cruise I could actually take!

You will probably find that these free ones last minute are going to be the least desirable cabins, which is why they are still available.

Learned something new today. I don't like ginger beer so never looked too closely at it and didn't realize it's like root beer in that it doesn't have alcohol.

There are also ginger beers with alcohol.

John also replied in comments that if it were for quarters, he would have let it go. Another

example of carnival picking and choosing when they feel like enforcing rules. If its so illegal, why would they not enforce it regardless of how much money.

a few years ago, 4 of us were playing LCR with quarters, (on NCL) and security did ask us to stop but said we could continue playing as long as we didn't have real money. I was surprised since it was only quarters. We were on the outside deck so the we did have to stop playing since the chips we had kept blowing in the wind.

Sailing to Alaska in July. Is there still a Captain's Night, dress your best nights? Any way to find out in advance which nights these are? I had read about "themes" on other nights (ugh not my thing) so we might book specialty dining but I haven't been able to find out which nights are which.

Wait till the first sailing of the season similar to yours and then set the app to that sailing (not yours). The info in the app should be pretty accurate and be similar to what you’ll experience in July.

My cruise is 6/21 (Southbound) and most of the menus are already available in the app-

    Fri-Welcome aboard, Sat-French, Mon-Italian, Wed-Caribbean

You cannot make phone calls with WhatsApp. You can call other WhatsApp users, but you cannot make phone calls with WhatsApp.

It may be different at sea, but I've used WhatsApp over WiFI  to make calls to a contact that are not WhatsApp users, but not direct dial phone calls

That's not a huge problem. It makes the bookkeeping a little more complicated, but nothing says they can't just collect it up front and give it back to you even if you cancel or are a no show. That's kind of how port fees work, right?

Yes, but then its "not included in the cruise fare" and would be a separate item and some people will still complain
