Wishing you all Happy Mother’s Day. Had lovely flowers from my wonderful daughter. My lovely daughter-in-law has just been round with a plant and a card. It’s 13 years since we lost my precious son suddenly. She still thinks of me as her mother-in-law for which I am very grateful. Difficult day for me though.

This type of issue is always a difficult one. My first reaction was that if I was in a cabin that had fumes in I would have insisted at once that I was moved. I have mild asthma but I am very wary if it suddenly worsens. I had an unfortunate episode several years ago (not on a ship) and finished up in hospital. On the other hand no cruise company should ignore the issue of fumes in a cabin and should have investigated it thoroughly, we don’t know if they did. It’s very sad for this family who just want to know if there could have been a different outcome.

Pete, so sorry to hear about Charlie, he was such a handsome boy. As a cat person, I know how hard it is for you to have lost such a beautiful friend. They worm their way into your heart which it makes it so hard when they pass. My daughter is a veterinary nurse, when we lost our beautiful Tilly 2 years ago she persuaded us to have a rescue cat who had been brought into the Vets to be put down as her owner had died and the family didn’t want her. Here she is now (name changed from Edith to Cassie).

Many thanks for all the replies, yeah I know nobody really knows that far ahead just didn't want to go through the disappointment of another cancelled cruise so I haven't actually booked yet. Will leave it late I think, there must be some point when the government will give the green light for the September cruises.
Like you, we have had 3 cruises cancelled and have another booked for September. It was to replace the May one that we assumed would be cancelled and is a similar itinerary. The price had increased considerably but we have wanted to do this cruise for some time. We are hopeful that it will go ahead but in these strange times, who knows. We are looking forward to the release of the round Britain cruises and, if there is anything we fancy, we will book that. We have two booked for for 2022, surely by then we will get to cruise again!

We are booked on Azura on 13th May to the Eastern Med. Quite some time ago I decided to book a similar cruise for September as I didn’t think the May one would go ahead. Admittedly it is more expensive but we got a better cabin and more OBC. I will use the FCC from the May one as part/all of the deposit for a cruise late 22. For me, I just want to get back to cruising as soon as it is safe.

Jean, sorry to hear about your accident. Our wonderful NHS will have you back on your feet as soon as is sensible. In the meantime, enjoy a rest and being pampered.

Beautiful photos of Dubrovnik. We booked our Azura May cruise to the Eastern Med mainly because we wanted to see Croatia. Expecting that to be cancelled, I booked a similar cruise in September. Don’t even think that will happen unfortunately.

Are the umbrellas part of a bar that you can’t see? They look like they should have high stools round them.

I think you are right Scriv. We are already booked up for two cruises next year but would consider using FCC for a 2023 cruise. Just hoping our cruise in September this year happens.

Just had an email from out TA about our May cruise. It said that currently this is still going and did we want any help with anything. We won’t be going anyway but are waiting until P & O cancel it so as not to lose the deposit. I think the point of this email was to encourage us transfer to a later cruise.

My daughter had a surprise call from our GP yesterday. They are having their jabs next Friday. Jen is only 48 but is registered as the carer of my grandson who has Autism. Her husband is only 50. Obviously they are both very pleased and relieved.

Hi Steviej, we are booked on Azura in September, going to the eastern Med. we would like to think that this will go ahead, although it will be different to the norm. Had 2 cancelled and probably another one soon, so really hoping we manage September.

Wowzz, we watched Amazing Hotels last night. Loved the story of the resort and it is truly amazing but I know we will never be able to afford it. Perhaps if we never had another cruise ever and sold the family silver!!!!!!
Whilst Monica and Giles looked like they had a brilliant time, I’m sure their time there was quite limited. Good entertainment though.

Fantastic photos Aulanis. We are fortunate to have a wood and farmland to look out to at the back of our house and we see cows, sheep, deer and the occasional fox. After nearly a year of looking out to this though, it has lost it’s magic. We yearn for the sights that have been shown on here.

The Times has the same article about over 65s starting being vaccinated from next Monday. My husband is 67 and he had his on Tuesday.

I am also with LV. The increase in December was about £25. My husband rang them and they reduced it by £20 instantly.

Lovely morning with light flurries of snow overnight. Glad we haven’t got the snow as my very young husband (I am 70 and he is 67) is going for his jab after lunch. Last night, when the weather forecast was on, it looked very hit and miss where the snow was going to land, he was concerned we may be snowed in as we live in a cul-de-sac and our house is at the bottom of the hill. All looks fine currently.

Arlowood, I just checked on my SystmOnline page but I do not have access to my records. There was just a message saying that this is currently not available. I will keep checking however. Thanks for the heads up.

I hope Jean is not upset by this comment from kirkiht. Years ago I had a negative, unpleasant comment and it put me off posting for a long time. The majority of posters now, like Jean, are really helpful, supportive, kind and oh of course some are very funny. I don’t post a huge amount but look at the comments posted most days to keep updated with things.

Raining quite hard here in Bolton and has been overnight. This is a problem for us at the moment. 6 years ago we had our glass conservatory roof replaced with a solid one. There are 4 large Velux windows in the roof and last week one of them started leaking. We had to move the dining table to the lounge end and the floor is now covered in towels and a bowl under the leak. The ceiling around window has some damage. The 10 year guarantee covers the windows but, to cut a long story short, the company that did the roof and Velux arguing about who should take responsibility. On the positive side, the forecast for the next few days here is quite good (snow is not shown for us). Even better news, my 67 year old husband has got his vaccination on Tuesday. You have to take the positives where you can in these crazy times.

Day before definitely for us. We can have a relaxed day before sail away. Sometimes we walk into town, sometimes not. Last year, we went on the Saturday and it was all too hectic. One year ago tomorrow (15th) we returned from our Britannia cruise and into lockdown. Love Azura because of the balconies on C deck but would happily do Britannia again.
