The tip amount on a 7 night cruise is $130.91 currently. My husband and I don't feel like that is adequate gratuity for the great service we always receive so we give an extra buck at least on every drink we order.

Does anyone know what the recent theme events are for 5 night cruises? We're on Sunrise and I remember a white/glow party in 2017 that was fun to dress up with the crowds.
Is that still around or are there others we should plan for? we're sailing 2/22/20 if that matters. thanks.

I'm going to pack waffle cones in a sealed package for use at the ice cream machine. 🙂

Is October the only time you can go? Seems like a stretch to bank on wifi working for your sports fan to keep up with the playoffs. We were on a ship when football playoffs were on and the connectivity to the sports bar tvs kept going out. I wouldn't plan on anything working perfectly so if they need to watch the games or be a sourpuss all trip, book another time.

Thanks for the replies. I'm thinking I will take a collapsible cooler we have, put ice in it, then put my ice packs into ziplocks to keep them pretty cold. We have a soft sided cooler that keeps ice for at least 24-36 hours so I think we will be fine.

Does anyone know if there is a freezer, even if just a small one, in the cabin fridge on Sunrise or Panorama in the spa balcony cabins?
I require a gel/clay ice pack sometimes so wondering if I can bring one or if I need to use the ice from the ship with a ziplock. Thank you.

we typically book about 18 months+ in advance for all cruises.
I've never seen the price go down really since we book as early as we can.

Yeah, that doesn't make a lot of sense. I just looked at the FTTF pricing and the 109.99 is for the 7 day Panorama cruise.

When did FTTF open up for the panorama? I've been looking for Sunrise in FEB 2020 and Panorama for March 2021 but nothing is listed for either sailing yet. boo.

I fill my own cup up with ice on lido and then ask for my drinks without ice from the bartender, then pour it into the cup.
I prefer the SWIG brand because they have smaller, sleeker bases so i can hold it better.
Not really cheaper than YETI, works great!

We're booked for FEB 22, 2020 and I was thinking the people complaining cruise during peak family season so the cabins are at higher occupancy. It's never the case when we cruise in winter so I was hopeful the lines and seat situation was just because of the summer madness with all the kids. Thanks for the review.

Thank you for the replies. Looks like there are a few not on lido deck with all the madness so we will head to one of those.

The search function isn't very good on this site so sorry if this has been asked before.....It's very likely user error...lol
I'm looking for info on what food venues are open for embarkation day lunch and if there is a fee or if they are included. We typically like to avoid the buffet/lido area that day.
Thanks for your help!

I checked the menu for the pig & anchor BBQ place on Sunrise and burnt ends mac n cheese isn't listed? There's something called mac daddy mac n cheese though. Which eatery did you get the burnt end mac n cheese?

Depends on the ship but I avoid deck 8 because it's under lido and there is no end to the noise from above.

$500 gift cards are typically available so those are the ones I buy to save time entering.

We drink at least twice as much if not triple on first day compared to other days. We tend to cruise with friends we haven't seen in a while so that first day is big! We would spend about $300 for 2 of us on alchemy bar drinks that first day so no Texas or NY for us. We also live in high altitude so when we get down to low altitude, we can drink much more. It all factors in but if you just have 4 or 5 drinks per person on day one, it's not a big deal.

I'm not sure why it matters what you want to bring on the ship. As long as you can carry everything you bring yourself, bring it all!

I was curious about the timing of activities in the evenings on the Sunrise but was also wondering if I get a copy of the current itinerary, if it changes based on the departure port or the ports of call. We will be on Sunrise out of FLL in FEB. Anyone have any current Sunrise Fun Times? Thanks for your help.

Thanks everyone. I think we will pass on it.

lol, I wonder where they get those tiny lobsters. look more like jumbo prawns.....I was with someone that ordered 7 of them and he still got a steak. There's maybe 2 bites on each one. Oh Carnival! You get what you pay for I guess since Carnival is such a cheap vacation.

Does anyone know what cut of beef the wagyu beef is on the new steak house menu? This is the only description listed on the online menu.
australian wagyu* The Highest Quality Japanese Beef, Unparalleled In Flavor & Tenderness
Thanks.

I'm curious what time you head to breakfast with the buffet so busy. We aren't early risers so I'm assuming that we won't have any trouble since we have breakfast around 10am or so if the buffet is even still open, can't remember.
We tend to eat all meals at non peak times for most cruisers so I'm hoping this ship isn't just crazy for us too with all the lines.

I would never book a cruise during hurricane season. We like to cruise in Jan/Feb when there aren't many kids on board and there isn't typically any weather issue during those months. Good luck to everyone that does gamble on hurricane season, especially in the Atlantic. Stay safe and bring motion sickness meds cuz I'm sure the seas are rockin'!
something you quite enjoy about your cruise vacation...

I enjoy not having to drive, navigate or park. Also, cruising is really cheap compared to land based vacations at about $450 per day all in for the two of us!
