  1. A little under 3½ years ago, I had the opportunity to job relocate from Sacramento, CA to the DFW area, something that I very enthusiastic in taking, both in hating what the state of California had become especially in quality of life aspects as well as the opportunities that DFW area would bring. One of the appeals was the travel opportunities that both Dallas Love Field (home field of Southwest Airlines) and DFW International (home field of American Airlines) offer in comparison to Sacramento "International". Also, I'm looking at doing more than just "cruises".
  2. Cruise excursions to avoid? Two categories I would fit these in: Excursions you aren't fit for. Excursions you aren't interested in. Excursions you simply can't afford. From my perspective, anything that has to do with alcohol or golf is an automatic no. The former because I'm a teetotaler, the latter because I'm no good at the sport.
  3. I prefer a balcony to an inside cave, thank you, but not at the two person price. Having said that, it's a minor issue since all I have to do is get out of my cabin and just go to the main deck and, voila!, problem solved. It should be noted that the Pacific Princess (aka Love Boat) which was in service from 1971 until scrapping in 2013, didn't have balcony cabins.
  4. What bothers me is how the cruise lines are against the solo traveler. On my last cruise in 2018, I got a inside cave, but still had to pay for two people.
  5. I took the Celebrity Cruises Alaskan Cruise in 2017, and enjoyed it tremendously. Back in the pre-Covid world, I would say "whenever possible, cruise out of Vancouver instead of Seattle" because of the mandatory "foreign port stop". If you cruise out of Seattle, that stop is Vancouver Island, and it's a extremely short port stop.
  6. I'm starting to plan out what I'm going to do for the 10 Night Ultimate Southern Caribbean this fall. According to the itinerary, these are the ports of call: Day 4 - St. Johns, Antigua Day 5 - Castries, St. Lucia Day 6 - Bridgetown, Barbados Day 7 - Fort De France, Martinique Day 8 - Basseterre, St Kitts & Nevis Of these ports, Celebrity isn't listing any excursions for Fort De France, Martinique at this time. Maybe I shouldn't worry this much, but with the cruise just over 140 days away, I'm surprised that there aren't any offerings for this port of call.
