  1. I was told that even after the cruise is paid in full, you may request your deposit be refunded to your credit card and you may then use the gift card to pay for it. Worth a try right? :D

I assumed by "final payment date" they meant the final payment deadline...which is 2 months prior to the cruise date in my case.

Thank you both! That's always good info to know!

  2. According to posts 60 and 61 in the below thread, if your cruise is paid for you can still apply gift cards towards your cruise fare and get a refund on your credit card. Then you wouldn't have to worry about losing them between now and then.

Just checking...Is that just "until final payment date" as stated in post 60 since OP stated her cruise is already paid in full?

  3. Everyone definitely answered the 1st two questions, but I wanted to respond to the third question...we only have 2 kids and have booked the connecting staterooms before where they have their own room with bathroom and so do we. We always kept the door in between the rooms open at all times and it worked great in regards to us 4 having plenty of space. But you would certainly have to book early enough to be able to choose those rooms as I believe they seem to go pretty easily sometimes.

  4. I am having a heck of a time finding where these are available on Verizon's site. Can anyone post a link please?

Log into your Verizon Wireless account-->From your home page, click on "Redeem Now" under your VERIZON SMART REWARDS points (not sure how it looks if you haven't joined it yet; it's free to do and you always start out with points)-->Go to Gift Cards/Travel. You should see the Carnival gift card selections there along with the other Travel gift cards.

Like someone already mentioned, the $500 gift cards are sold out, but there are still $100 ones left so far.

  5. I definitely don't know from experience, but saw this on the VIFP Club terms & conditions site...hopes this helps (http://www.carnival.com/loyalty/termsandconditions.aspx):

Notwithstanding the foregoing, in the event a Member books a Cruise in which such Member will attain the necessary VIFP Points to reach a new Level during or by the end of such Cruise (a “Crossover Cruise”), CCL may, in its sole discretion, offer such Member the Benefits offered to Members of the higher Level during the Crossover Cruise.

I'm sure someone with actual experience will chime in on that soon.

    Also from the Q&As:

Can I select my own preferred airline?

Absolutely! You can select your preferred airline, travel dates, time and fare.

Reading the pre-booking Q&As, I saw both airlines mentioned: For Jet Blue, Southwest, Airtran and Frontier....

So, looks like they are also used.

  8. We're on the Valor on the 15th. Does anyone know if it's part of the upgrades being done right now?

I don't see it on the dry dock schedule, but may not mean it isn't going to be available?

    Carnival Valor Dry Dock: 4/23/16 - 5/08/16

    Confirmed upgrades will include:

    • Guy's Burger Joint
    • BlueIguana Cantina
    • Redfrog Rum Bar
    • BlueIguana Tequila Bar
    • Redfrog Pub
    • Alchemy Bar
    • Skybox Sports Bar
    • Cherry on Top
