  1. I will join as well. We are cruising in December, April 2015 and October 2015. About a month ago, I joined LA Fitness. I have a treadmill at home and do anywhere from 3-4 miles 5 days a week but I wanted to add variety and do strength training. I meet 2-3 days a week with a trainer and have added eliptical and bike before meeting with the trainer as a warm up. They also have aqua aerobics, yoga and spin. I love the aqua aerobics and do that 3 days a week. I have only lost 5 pounds but have definitely gained muscle and I don't have too much to lose. I have met some nice people and really like the social aspect of it as well.

  2. Next week I'll be on a 10 day mediterranean cruise. The ship has a very nice fitness centre I would like to try out. But let's face it: I probably won't work out every day. Now I wonder about shoes: gym sneakers take a lot of space in the suitcase and I can't even wear on the street. To bring or not to bring?

If you are seriously planning on going to the fitness center, definitely bring, you could get hurt wearing inappropriate footwear at the gym. I've seen many in the gym without sneakers and I don't understand why they are allowed to be on the equipment. Have you considered wearing them while traveling?

  3. Oh my goodness! Thank you, Ladies! Thank you for all your kind words, prayers and well wishes. When my husband was in college, some psychic told him "your marriage is going to be long, but you won’t be happy until the end". My husband was married for 35 years. He believes I am it; therefore I have to be OK. I beat it nine years ago. I also survived the accident and able to walk again. I am tough and a fighter. I believe this is just a bit setback for me.

Again, thank you and please continuous to pray for me.

Take care and have a wonderful day.

All the very best to you!

  4. We have only been in Britannia Club once and really enjoyed it. The service was excellent, food hot and the ability to choose your dining time is a real advantage in my view.

However, if I remember rightly, it was a great deal more expensive (it was a silver wedding trip so we splurged) and I can't be sure it was "worth the money".

I think it boils down to how much disposable income one has.

I agree with this comment. We did Britannia Club once and booked it really because of the open seating and loved the smaller venue. The food is basically the same, however there are several more choices each evening. For us, the main dining room is fine, on our last cruise on the QE the food was very good as was the service. The biggest issue is that 6:00 is too early and 8:30 is getting to be a little bit late. We choose 8:30 but I would really like an "anytime" dining option which is currently not available.

  5. Hi CateW. I just received an e-mail from Cunard announcing the World Club pre sale of 2016 World & Exotic Voyages. To quote in part:

"...We are pleased to announce your VIP access to our 2016 World Voyages. As a valued World Club Member, we invite you to take advantage of this one-day pre-sale access 9 September starting at 12:00 a.m. PT. You will have access to the best itineraries and staterooms for your world adventure before sales open to the general public on 10 September."

No prices were mentioned in that e-mail, but maybe the fares will eventually appear on the Cunard web page :) -S.

You are right, I will be checking every day. Hopefully, we can make this happen.

  6. I am lucky, there is a Tadashi store in South Coast Plaza. Its a bout 30 miles from here. Also, their warehouse is close to here. I usually receive my order the next day.

Yes, I do love his dresses and gowns :).

    Happy Shopping

PS. I found the black gown online, but they did not have my size. I called the Tadashi store in South Coast. They found it. Its being ship from Shanghai store.

Happy for you; I am still looking!

  7. I had a look of the Tadashi website. OMG! All the dresses look so beautiful and the price is reasonable! Since I am not living in the States, it will be difficult for me to buy any of them without trying out the size. Can anyone tell me where I can find them in NYC? I think I will be in the US in a couple of months.

And, do they have sales? It would be good to buy a couple of dresses when they are on sales. :D

Saks and Nordstrom's has them and sometimes Lord and Taylor will have a few but a very limited selection. Tadashi is my favorite and my collection is growing.

  8. I was shopping today and I tried on this dress. I initially rejected it, but thinking back on it it might just work. I have never worn a white evening gown on a cruise and I am wondering about the white with my white/blonde hair .. What say you ?

(Must do some reading, I don't remember how to post pictures other than the thumbnail you get when you attach it.. sigh)

I love Cache and have quite a few of their dresses but I haven't seen this one. I also can see why you are reconsidering, it is stunning.

  9. Where did you acquire this piece of fiction?

You don't follow this board permanently?

"How much spirit/wine can I bring on board?" is certainly the most frequently asked question here.

    You are generalizing!

  10. We got back last Sunday from a 7 day cruise to Bermuda on the Summit and I lost 2 pounds. We ate in specialty restaurants 5 nights. My husband likes room service for breakfast. I had oatmeal or yogurt every morning just like home with some fruit. Walked one hour every morning and took the stairs all the time. Stayed away from all surgery alcoholic drinks. Had proseco (sp) at the cocktail hour and wine with dinner. If we wanted dessert, we shared one; and drank at least 100 ounces of water a day. Went to Horseshoe Bay 2 days, the waves were amazing and burned a lot of calories. Did I feel deprived? Not a bit, and felt great when I got home. Contemplating 12 days on the Queen Mary in September but our next confirmed cruise is 21 days in February and I will try and follow the same routine. Best of luck to everyone!
