I am a lurker to this thread but thought I would jump in. We just booked our longest cruise to date; 45 days to Hawaii and the South Pacific for October 2015. I am retiring early next August and thought this would be the perfect retirement cruise. We leave in less than a month for Bermuda and I am watching what I eat in preparation for that cruise. We had a very long winter here in the Northeast and I am a few pounds heavier than my ideal weight.

The port charges and government taxes are really high.

Nordstroms, the return policy is second to none and free shipping for returns.

We seem to have a communication problem. I told you about 10 days ago on another thread that the full itinerary for the world cruise 2016 is OUT already and.... since the 3rd week of April. It is published, do you want a copy ????? There is also a thread on the roll call showing the FULL itinerary Under AMSTERDAM WORLD CRUISE 2016.
Give me your email, I will send you the full itinerary that was provided and published by Stein Kruse's office.
Would you be kind enough to send it to me? My email us sunlover124@yahoo. Com. Thank you!

We were in a category E on Lower Promenade. It was a great, convenient location. There was plenty of storage with a wall of closets with 4 doors and shelves that can be lifted up or down to create more hanging space.

Thank you for getting back to me.

We are considering this cruise for 2016, the itineraries aren't out yet. May I ask what category cabin you selected and if the storage was sufficient (this girl has to have lots of choices). Thank you!

We are Elite Plus with Celebrity and have sailed Princess before and really enjoyed it. We just booked a transatlantic for October 2015 (Spanish Passage) the ports are fantastic. Enjoy your time with your Dad, I am sure it will be a great cruise. We are not really loyal to any cruise like anymore; we change it up between Celebrity, Princess and Cunard.

If it's any help, while Britannia Club is indeed shown as sold out on Cunard's U.S. web site for your round trip voyage (M517A: Aug 19-Sep 4, 2015), availability is pretty much wide open in Britannia Club for both of the individual one-way voyages (M517: Aug 19-27, 2015 and M518: Aug 27-Sep 4, 2015).
I'm not sure why Cunard is showing Britannia Club as sold out for the round trip, but you can rest assured it is not in fact sold out. It appears the staterooms in the Britannia Club category are perhaps being held for the individual one-way voyages at the moment.
Regards,
John.
Thank you! I didn't even check that.

We are thrilled that the back to backs are leaving from New York! Booked today but how is it even possible that the Britannia Club is sold out for the 8/19/15 sailing so far out? We are #1 on the wait list and I think we will clear it but it seems strange to me. We did this cruise in 2011 and booked the BC 4 months out. I guess I am not alone about being happy that this is back!

Should not be a problem. We have done this cruise 4 times. We live in Connecticut and drive to the port; last 2 years we were home by 10; 90 minute drive. I would suggest walking off with your luggage if possible.

We just booked a back to back for March/April 2016 Sydney to Vancouver; I was a little concerned but I am sure it will be fine.

We booked the Transpacific March 29, 2016 Sydney to Honolulu, my dream trip! It is such a long way away but we have several cruises between now and then. Crazy excited!

We have done this cruise in May, July and August and never encountered rough seas. We are doing it again on the July 13th sailing this year in AQ1 aft 1140; we were in 1141 last year. Love the location and the larger balcony but it does get a fair amount of sun.

Does anyone know when the 2016 Australia itineraries will be open to captain's club members? Thank you!

I love the red ones. I am heading to the mall later, even though I don't need a thing.

Prada Candy, Shalimar, Cashmere Mist, alternatively.

Happy Valentine's Day :).
Hope all is well with everyone. We are four days at sea and will reach Papeete, Tahiti in five days. I am trying to get over a cold.
This is Tadashi gown I wore tonight.
Take care, ladies :)

You look stunning! I have the same dress in dark navy (almost looks black). I wore it on the Queen Elizabeth cruise that we just returned from. I also love the black Nicole Miller - amazing!

The pass on the QE for the full cruise is $1700 for a single; I believe it is $3200 for a couple. It can also be bought for a single segment. I paid $380 for the NYC to SF segment. Best money I spent. They limit the passes that they sell (so they say) but I can confirm that there was never more than 5 or 6 people when I went, and I went every day. The SPA on the Queen Mary is superior IMO but I still fully enjoyed the QE. They should tint the windows because it is kind of like being in a fish bowl.

We also boarded in NY; missed the meet and greet. Sunday was such a lazy day, stayed in bed until 1:00. I cut the ball of my foot in the spa today. They wanted to charge me $123 for some athletic tape because this didn't happen between 8 and 9 this morning when the medical center was open:(. Other than this, great trip so far, everything could not be better.

Have a wonderful cruise, I can't wait to see all the dresses. We board the QE on Saturday for the NY to San Francisco segment. I bought a dozen new dresses, yikes!
-
Thank you for the wonderful photos. We board Saturday for 19 days! How was the shopping in Shanghai?

We are thinking about a Seaborn cruise for next January, your post convinced me to give it a go. Thank you for your insightful experience!

We spend about $150 a day, excluding gratuities. We have a cocktail before dinner and a bottle of wine with dinner. I also drink a lot of bottled water.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes! It is with mixed emotions, my husband has been retired for 9 years so I kind of feel like I have to. I will try to find something closer to home, part time. My commute is 2 hours each way door to door and I am definitely done with that:)
