  1. Android app has just updated, it allows you to tab between cruises under the Profile tab at bottom. Check your dining reservations though, not all of ours were transferred and had to reinput. Correction, now it has thrown me out and I can't log in at all via either password or seperate booking. But my husbands works ok and it does say both ocean ready even though no landside credit card details given. so they do listen apparently. except for me not being able to log in

Hopefully the Android version will have an update soon. I did manually check and didn't see an update. We don't sail until April and also only have the one cruise booked so it's not critical for me to get an update. I've just been wondering when they would fix things - like the multiple voyage listing - that have had people unhappy. It's good to hear they addressed that issue.

Edit: It just now popped. 😁

Yep, understood. Strange that @lorri111 Travel Summary apparently doesn't have that wording.

Yes, I remember that text from previous cruises, but this only says refer to app and I can't find it there.

The bounce online payment is processed in $AU at an overseas bank, hence the charge. It is your bank that charges the fee, not Bounce. Bounce is charging you in $AU, and are not required to advise the payment will be processed outside of Australia.

We will drop all luggage we won't need and that leaves us travelling light. It is more than just valuables, electronics & documents though, as we hang on to anything we will need till dinner in case of delayed luggage to our cabin.

ACCC consider it would be a misleading practice not to inform consumers ...

If you process payments outside of Australia, you should alert your customers before entering into a transaction with them if they are likely to be charged international transaction fees.

It seems strange that Bounce payments would incur a foreign transaction fee unless those payments somehow go though an overseas bank. That may happen if the Bounce storage system is an international set-up, working through local shops/cafes, and payment to Bounce are processed overseas.

You can drop-off baggage at the cruise terminal from around 8:30am. However there is no storage facility there for things like hand baggage that you would wish to retrieve before boarding. All baggage handed in to the baggage drop-off is taken onboard and delivered to your cabin. You will need to keep your hand baggage with you. Perhaps minimize what you need to carry on with you - valuables, medical needs etc - so they are easy to take with you while sightseeing.

As someone pointed out, their website is ".com" not ".com.au" so I suspect it is an international set up. I am glad I found out as I would have been annoyed if I had found it out after paying online. I figure I don't need my hand baggage (which is all I am taking) before boarding, so if I keep electronics on me it might be safe to leave with ship drop off.

  5. Will be getting early into Sydney prior to our cruise so looking for possible storage of hand luggage for a few hours. I was looking at Bounce but it seems to be $22 for 2 bags (online bookings only apparently) and reviews from last year indicate it was charging a foreign transaction fee for booking even though local card used. I am bemused by this, does anyone have recent knowledge? Sounds very dodgy to me if so, and not sure it is secure storage, just in cafe? Another option, what time can you drop off bags prior to a cruise, and does this include hand baggage (with tag)?

Fortunately they still leave a paper version of the Patter on the bed every evening/afternoon. It's not called Patter anymore, it's the Event Listing but it's the same. I much prefer it to the App version which I still referred to occasionally if I didn't have the paper version on me.

Good to know, I used to love carrying the Patter around with me with bits highlighted (how old school!)

The way we do it as well. Before the cruise starts I look at the ship schedule to see in general terms what's on but once on board use the paper copy Events Listing to mark what we will do for that day.

Which reminds me, I guess they don't do paper Princess Patter anymore? Or is it on the app now?

It's not just the quality of the wines by the glass that annoy me, it's the very limited selection. I can't drink most sauvignon blancs as they affect my reflux problem. I dislike young oaky chardonnays. I can't drink most cabernet sauvignons either, as that grape variety gives me headaches. That doesn't leave me much to choose from on the Plus list which is why we now budget for bottles of wine. We still get good value from Plus as we enjoy cocktails, after dinner drinks, coffees and bottled water, plus the internet of course - must have my daily Wordle fix!

Yep, gotta do Wordle every day!

@OzKiwiJJthank you, you can hear my sigh of relief. I can handle $1 a time. It's not that deBetoli is a bad vineyard, and many moons ago I purchased it by the good old cask, but several decades later, its a whole other story.

I remember those De Bortolli casks, that was some ways back! They were great value and I still think their current wines are good value at their price as quaffers!

It should be there. It's usually in bold print just after the cabin details etc. Anyway if it says Depart at 3pm I'd be getting there around 11am if you want to board early.

My travel summary for april cruise doesn't list embarkation time either, just says  departure time 4pm

  11. This has never come up before for us as we have always absorbed non refundable OBC via excursions and drinks and gratuties, but for next cruise they won't come into play so we will both have OBC which might only be used by one party. We are on the same credit card and I know the accounts will be combined in my name at the end, but I don't think the non refundable OBC is treated this way. If one of us spends above their OBC will it be absorbed by the other party's allowance or will they pay the excess and the other party lose their OBC?

I don't have a price list but last week on Coral a glass of wine started at $14, beer $10.50  & cocktails about $16. We did have the plus package  & even though I'm not a big drinker...5 drinks most on one day, I think it's worth it with water coffees & wifi.

Am coming to that conclusion myself. Now of course since I have decided to upgrade they are having technical problems putting the package on my booking -sigh

Is there a specific reason you are trying to purchase Plus before your cruise?

It’s reported all over this site what a nightmare calling Princess is. There is no financial discount to purchase Plus before the cruise so why not just avoid this “annoying” calling Princess and just book it when boarding?

    Cheers

Actually here in Australia we seem to get through immediately, it is just the time taken to fix the problem. No reason to think it would be easier doing it on the cruise and that would be time really wasted.

When and where is your sailing? You normally are offered to purchase plus or premier on Day1 or 2 of your cruise. If sailing soon, call Princess to verify or check if any current passengers doing a ‘live’ and ask there.

My understanding is for sailings down under, the packages for passengers in the Oz market, do not include crew appreciation since your cruise fare already has that component baked in the fare. For passengers  buying a down under cruise not using a Oz TA such as US passengers buying from Princess direct or a U.S. TA, your fares do not have crew appreciation baked in so you will be charged for CA on board.

It must be something specific to this booking (which is for April) because I have the option showing ok for doing the same for the Sept cruise. I rang them this morning and no luck so will try again later but it is annoying to wait on phone for 20 mins while they try to sort it out, so wondered if anyone else had encountered this.

  15. Tried to upgrade to Princess Plus on both app and web last night and this morning and it said "something went wrong, try again later". So I rang Princess this morning and after 20 min of waiting she came back with tech problem at her end too. Wondering if this is an overall systems problem or just something specific to my booking.

You should check on a regular basis as many bartenders will put both drinks on one tab if a couple are ordering together because it is easier for them. We always ask them to put one on each account. In the past we have ended up late nights with one of us ready to max out and the other only half way through their 15

What happens if you want one of you to go to bar to get drinks for both of us (the other being elsewhere), do you have to take both medallions to buy them or will they both get put on the one account?
