  1. We (2 adults) are flying into Boston 2 or 3 days precruise in late May. DH wants to walk the Freedom Trail....allowing lots of time since he will stop at every site, read every historical marker, etc (what can I say the man is thorough :o).... the only time I ever go to Boston is for work and they send a driver to pick me up, I stay at the Westin Copley Plaza/Back Bay and go back to the airport.

Can anyone make suggestions for hotels or locations that would let us walk most/all of the Freedom Trail? I don't have a problem using Priceline or Hotwire and we are not particularly picky....clean and safe are my primary objectives. I looked at rates for places downtown/waterfront and all were over $350/night....I was hoping for about 1/2 that (probably wishful thinking on my part)

We are happy to use public transportation if we need to stay a bit farther out, but being able to walk would be my first choice.

Also would appreciate suggestions for getting to terminal on cruise day.

    Thanks

  2. Doubt if they would allow use of the service elevator...but I have seen someone that used a walker and could not manage the incline on the ramp...they had a transport chair for her that she got in at the ramp, they rolled her down and stowed the chair until she returned and then they got it out and pushed her up the ramp again. I am sure the arrangements had been made in advance and I do not know if the transport chair was hers or the ship's though.
