  1. I agree, Santa Barbara Beach Resort was amazing! The included transportation was at the pier with a sign, so easy to find them. It was a bit of a drive to the resort, but I enjoyed being able to see more of the Island, and once you got to the Resort area it was beautiful. The beach is a lagoon style with a walking area that you can walk all around it, it was a shaded private beach area. The day I visited there was no one else on the beach. The pool was very large, and had a beach bar/grill that was more casual but all the staff was friendly. Also had lunch inside the restaurant and they were all friendly, pleasant, and lunch was delicious. I have visited many different Resorts on the Islands, and this one is my favorite. I would like to go back and play golf on their course.

  2. Has anyone been to any of these beaches? Trying to pick one. Have been to Playa Mia, looking for something else.

    3 adults ,2kids 10&15

Mr Sanchos sold out our week.

Iberostar beach is a limestone beach so a bit rough entrance, resort is gorgeous with many animal habitats to enjoy, but it can get a bit crowded. Occidental has a more adults only feeling and a very long walk from the entrance back to the pool and beach area, not many kids activities. If you have not yet checked out the Allegro, that might be a great compromise. The Allegro is right between the Iberostar and Occidental, they have many children activities, and a gorgeous white sandy beach. All Inclusive pass was $60 per each adult.

  3. Is it too cold to consider spending the day at the Beach if I'm coming to Bermuda in March?

Was thinking of doing the Elbow Beach Day Pass, but not sure if it is still going to be too cold

to enjoy the beach and Ocean in March. Has anyone else cruised to Bermuda in March?

  4. Horsehoe Bay is a popular, nice long beach area, but with 3 cruise ships in port and that being Bermuda Day week, that beach will be busy. I'm not a fan of crowds, so I like going to Elbow Beach less crowds and clean restroom facilities right on the beach.

  5. Thank you for the review! We sail in February on the Jewel. Hope all is well with the hotel situation in Feb. We will consider spending time at the hotel for the day before flight departure as you did. How long was the cab ride from the ship to the hotel? Thanks Michelle

It was less than 15 minutes from the pier, and less than 15 minutes to the airport.

  6. I know the OP had just carryon bag, but was there an option to have your luggage delivered to the airport for you? We fly out on Delta at 4:50pm so we are also considering the Day Pass for Marriott Stellaris on Nov. 25. We will be sailing on the Nov. 18th cruise.

Thanks so much for your wonderful review and I am so very sorry you got sick on your cruise!

When I flew home the airport was only allowing checked luggage 4 hours before flights, so I took my bags with me to the Marriott and they stored them with the concierge desk, I just gave them a $5 tip for keeping my bags.

  7. My flight departed at 3:30pm. I arrived at 1pm check in and TSA was fast n easy and got to the gate by 1:30pm. So 2 hours of sitting on the floor waiting to board flight. But, thankful that it wasn't delayed and it was overbooked so I'm thankful that I was able to keep my seat. Made it back to Ohio last night and spent today at the Columbus zoo with the family.

  8. I apologize for the lacking review the last couple of days, I actually got a horrible cold, most likely from keeping my stateroom like an icebox and everywhere else was in the 80's. It started off with waking up on the second day with a sore throat and then by the third night it turned into exhausted with stuffiness. I bought some NyQuil on the ship fearful that they would quarantine me to my room, but all was good. Ordered room service of chicken soup and hot tea to and kept to my room for the evening. The NyQuil definitely helped with relief if the stuffy and sore throat and I changed the temperature in my room so it wasn't so cold. Disembarking was very quick and easy as I did self assist. I was off and in a taxi to the Marriott by 7:10am

  9. Can’t wait to hear about your last few days onboard and your day at the Marriott.

We are booked at the Marriott in a month and saw online the other day that their generator failed and were now dark. Hopefully you will be able to confirm that they are back up and running! Pictures of the pool area would be great, too!

Thanks so much for your great review. The week went way too fast!

The San Juan Marriott was back up and running this morning. Lobby was busy with relief workers, but the Cafe and gift shop was open and televisions in lobby were on. Pool was open and slide is working. There is also another Cafe out here by the pool that is open and a few customers having breakfast. CVS next door is open as well.

  10. You can get the drink card on the first day, just go to any bar and request it. It's $80 for 10 drinks plus the 18% gratuity. By day three it was discounted to $75 but I never saw it less than that.

Another great reason to do the San Juan Marriott Day Pass post cruise. The airport will not allow you to check in any earlier than 4 hours before your flight. Ship docks at 7am, so we could either sit outside the airport check in counter until 11:30am or enjoy a relaxing day at the Marriott by the pool. There is like no one else here.

  11. I've always booked through resortforaday and it depends on the date you're docked. Right now it's just $129 per each adult. You have access to the 10 pools 3 beaches all the water slides, lazy river and 2 aquariums.

  12. Santa Barbara Beach Resort was better than I could ever imagine!!! Absolutely gorgeous and I was even able to get a tour of their golf course. I wish I had more time to play but hopefully next time I'm in port I can play the greens. The Day Pass is All Inclusive and includes roundtrip transfers. Plenty of restaurants and bars available here by the pool or on the beach. It was raining but it was since cleared up to be a gorgeous day.
