Yes, you can use OBC to pay for the transfer (if it is not already included.)

Taxis are readily available and about $75 from the port to LGA

Uber/Lyft also easy to get and maybe a slight discount over a taxi.

Mariner is a nicer and newer ship, and larger. For those 3 reasons I would choose it.

CGM's use bluetooth, not wi-fi.  so no charges.

What do you mean by "separate lounge"?

I don't believe that Regent has a Concierge-type lounge on any of their ships (unlike Oceania)

destination services will tell you if you need to carry off your own luggage, or if it will be available for you in the terminal.

Scout16 explained it better than I could.  In any case, it was a pleasant place to sit outside, as it was heated (from above), had comfortable furniture, and there were blankets available.  Also generally not crowded.

just got off Explorer Tokyo - Vancouver and while not perfect, was an excellent cruise. The service was outstanding.  Agree with MrLevin above.  

as far as the negative reviews - I don't want to be dismissive of other's opinions, but frankly there are quite a few who will never be satisfied, or have unreasonable expectations, IMHO

yes it is on the starboard side, deck 11, just aft of the pool "buffet" area (across/aft from the cookies and coffee machine)

I seem to remember reading something about taking an elevator up to do luggage drop off then going back down to do check in and boarding?

the taxi should drop you off inside canada place, right at the luggage drop off.  you will walk inside (a short distance) to the check-in counters.

Was on this cruise also.  Had a wonderful time.  I agree with Forgap (above) that the food was not as good as previous cruises.  

I would say that about half of the mains that we ordered in Compass Rose were just "ok".  We normally had the Chef's recommendation, or what the waiter suggested.

Also the curries (tried all of them) in Pacific Rim were "off" (I fancy myself a curry expert).  The rest of the food in PR was very good.

Best meals we had (2) were in Chartreuse. Did not eat in Prime 7.

As a comparison, we recently got off the Mariner on a World segment, where the food was universally exceptional.

 In any case, the service on the Explorer was outstanding.  

Agree that the Veranda was packed at lunch on sea days - a few times had to sit outside at the pool grill, which was fine due to the heaters.

take a taxi - both ways.  easier and cheaper.

There was only the option to make specialty dinner reservations on the "first" April 20.

It is a limitation of the computer system.

When we boarded, we were able to make a reservation for the "2nd" April 20 (which was wide open)

It is now snowing!

Expect it 3 days prior, give or take

if you are just going to MIA airport, a taxi is the same price and easier (it can be a challenge to find your ride-share, or there can be a LONG wait for one.)  Taxis are readily available and the line (if any) moves quickly

i mean this will all due respect- if you are that thin-skinned, perhaps cruising (and travel) is not for you.

Lots of variables,  but in general you should have plenty of time.

5-10 minutes to go thru Canada immigration (most times they waive you thru)

5-10 minutes to get bags

5-10 minutes to get a taxi

30 minutes to drive to airport 

30 minutes to check in

20 minutes for US immigration and customs (bring your global entry card if you have it)

10 minutes to walk to gate

so 90-120 minutes from ship to gate

(I have done it in less than 90 but that is conservative on the low side)

There is a “review” section or you can just post it in the specific cruise line section 

my parents are currently onboard (go home tomorrow) and have had a fabulous cruise.  I only wish we had been able to join them

another alternative is to overnight in Vancouver prior to flying home.

A beautiful city with great restaurants and lots to see.

Then catch an early flight the next morning.
