  1. With only one sea day they wouldn't even really get much of a chance to use all of the extra things that the sunshine offers so I wouldn't put too much stock in that.

I'm in my late 20's and actually got married on the pride in October. We had a blast. There was always things to do and we never had a problem finding a pool that wasn't crowded so that was a definite bonus.

Im jealous. I heard so many wonderful things about him but when we actually sailed it was his time off. We are sailing the pride again in September but I'm assuming he will be on the vista by then.

  3. We were married on the pride in October. I emailed the maitre d (ken) in advance asking for a table for 2. He emailed me back the same day saying he would take care of it. When sailing time came we had a table for 2. I guess it depends on the maitre d but in our case it worked out great.

  4. So glad everything worked out! I had a similar experience however in my case it was partially my fault. I found out I was pregnant the day after booking so I literally went into baby planning mode and completely abandoned wedding planning until she was a couple of month old. At that point I would call when she napped and be told she'd call me back which she never did and I wouldn't follow up because of the baby. Eventually I was able to get a hold of them and hammered out all the details. Everything the day of was perfect and exactly as discussed. Even the little details such as decorations I bought for my cake (the week before) were handled seamlessly.

  5. We will be sailing the end of September. It will be my husband, myself, a 16 year old, a one and a half year old, my parents, and my grandparents. What would you recommend doing in Freeport? We were there once before but that was pre-baby and honestly right now my thoughts are shop and get back on the ship but that doesn't sound like much fun.

  6. Does the freedom do Seuss at sea? My husband and I caught it on the pride and will be doing it with our daughter when we sail in April. They do a little parade and story time and then have a doctor Seuss brunch another day. They have people dressed up as characters as well as dr Seuss themed foods.

  7. I would stick with the balcony. We are doing a suite for the first time in September because we will be taking our daughter who will need a crib and wanted the extra space however from seeing pictures and video the space and the bathroom are the only difference. It literally looks exactly like the other rooms but bigger. It may be different in other ships and I can only comment on the pride.

  8. If you have a suite does Fttf add any more perks?

From what I understand the only perk with a suite is priority embarkation. It's really just a matter of if the other perks of fttf are worth the money to you. We have a suite booked on our next cruise and my parents and grandparents will be sailing in ocean view rooms. Since we will all be arriving at the same time they wanted to be able to board earlier so they got it. We ended up getting it as well because we will be stopping at a tender port and will be traveling with a one year old so for us it was totally worth it even if we already had priority embarkation.

  9. We were married on the pride this past October and from your worry list I couldn't help but think "is this the same boat?". We had a wonderful and relaxing time. We didn't pre plan any activities on board and if we went to one that didn't seem like us we would just move on to something else. We had wonderful service in the main dining room and ate at the steakhouse twice where the service was great as well (and delicious...the main dining room food is good but the steakhouse is wow). We had requested a table for just the 2 of us in the mdr to have some alone time but loved sitting with and meeting new people at breakfast/brunch. Just go with the flow. The great thing about a cruise is if one thing isn't for you than there is plenty more to experience including doing "nothing" which is just as great.

  10. I can't comment on an island wedding because I've never been to one but I got married onboard the carnival pride and can honestly say I wouldn't change a thing. That being said if your daughter wants a beach wedding then an onboard wedding might not be for her. I loved it but it was definitely more traditional. As far as my experience the staff was AMAZING. We had our reception in the nightclub with a dj. They passed around signature drinks as well as had an open bar and the food was delicious. Our pictures came out great and I loved that try photographer was included and you just paid for the pictures based on what you wanted.

  11. Thank I think you both read my mind but figured I'd check to make sure I wasn't missing anything cool. I read that the beaches in gt can be rocky so I think we will do margaritaville. The only one I'm iffy on is Freeport. If we aren't able to find something good to do there I think it might just be a shopping port for us.

  12. Our cruise in September will be our first with fttf and I didn't even know about the gs thing. Do you wait on the platinum/diamond line instead of the regular one?

We have a suite so I wasn't worried about getting on the ship early however we will be traveling with a one and a half year old so getting off the ship will be great. Also we are booked for half moon cay so the priority tendering was a huge draw. We will also be traveling with my extended family so they got fttf as well so that way we all board at or around the same time.

  13. Most the ships have cribs. Not the type we have in nurseries but more similar to a daycare crib. They are a little smaller, but work just fine.

I'm definitely going to call and ask about that then. I just assumed it would be a pack and play and I'm thinking her issue with it is that she so used to sleeping in her crib now that she want able to sleep without the mattress.
