  1. We took our 13 month old grand daughter on the Glory in May. Our PVP told us a crib would be provided for her in our balcony cabin. It was there and set up for her when we boarded.

Thank you. Was it an actual crib or was it a pack and play?

  2. Just curious for those who have sailed with a child under 2 where did they sleep? We booked an ocean suite anticipating needing the added space for a pack and play however my daughter has recently decided she's not down with that. Are children of age already sleeping on the couch/bed?

  3. Was the salon open day of embarkment or did you have the stylist and make up artist go to your hotel? Once you got onboard, what did the rest of your guests do until the ceremony? Did the cruise give you options or allow guests who were sailing to go to there rooms?

The salon wasn't open but I'm a makeup artist so I did my own and then I winged it on the hair. Guests were allowed to walk around or grab something to eat. They were also able to wait in the chapel if they wanted. We didn't have any sailing guests so I can't speak to the other rooms from experience however I've read reviews about people requesting other rooms ready and they were.

  4. How was your embarkment day wedding? Me and my Fiance have been considering this option but it seems as though it could be either a really good experience or a really bad experience.. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!

We did an embarkation day wedding and it was great. It worked for us because nobody wanted to sail. What's funny is after my parents an grandparents who didn't want to sail saw the boat they ended up booking a cruise.

We did the time to celebrate package and didn't feel rushed at all. We had a great time and then went and took pictures before the muster drill. I liked it because I feel like we got to enjoy our cruise in its entirety rather than feel like we are losing a day because of getting ready and taking pictures.

  5. I love the sea day brunch. I don't eat eggs so typically there's only so much I'll eat on a breakfast menu and it can get repetitive really quick (not to mention if you're not in the mood for something sweet you're basically stuck with just sides) so I like having the lunch options as well.

  6. Do any Jewish brides know if there is an option for a chuppah at the ceremony? Thanks!

I'm not sure about that but I would definitely call or email and ask. We got married on a carnival ship and I know when we got our papers from a wedding for you (the company they work with) they had an option for the glass breaking so I don't think it would be out of the realm of possibility as they're clearly taking people's religious beliefs into account.

  7. We used cash on our last cruise and I have to say that the biggest perk was at the end of the cruise when we were able to cash out at the kiosk rather than guest services. It saved us a ton of time. I'm not sure if there was a limit to how much you can cash out because we were adding as we went along so there was only about 60 dollars on the account but it was still super helpful to be able to cash out this way.

  8. How long does it take got obc to show up? We booked on October 30th during the time when you got $50 for booking. The 50 shows up but the $100 still hasn't. My parents ended up booking with our friend voucher thing once we returned and they have $150 available.

  9. Thanks so much. I'm sure I'll have a million questions. My party will be around 30 people. You think the piano bar is too small? I am also the only wedding so I have options. Also glad I did the 2 hour package. I would love to see more of your pics! How much are you thinking my picture budget should be? I was hoping to keep it around 500, is that unrealistic?

500 is the price for the smallest package. We didn't go in with a set budget but ended up with that one because we were able to get all the pictures we liked and at least one in every setting.

  10. I don't really understand parents who don't handle their babies. Maybe it's just me but if I'm in a public place and my baby starts crying I want to remove her to calm her down when you can solely focus on calming her down and not what's going on around her. I will say that I'm really lucky to only have a baby who cries if she's in pain or overtired and if she's overtired I wouldn't bring her their to begin with.

  11. Someone made mention of it in another post while it was going on but didn't go into details although I remember someone saying it had something to do with sand. We had sailed on her the week before and didn't have any issues.

  12. While I definitely agree that if a child gets overly loud the parent should take them out of the dining room I'm appalled at the notion that they shouldn't be allowed in to begin with. To me that's far more selfish than many of you are claiming the parents are. It's a company geared towards all families not just yours.

  13. I honestly don't understand why parents bring babies onboard a cruise ship. When our children were young we planned appropriate vacations that allowed them to enjoy and have fun in the setting we were in. There is nothing for a baby to do on a cruise ship. Sometimes as the adult we just need to make the best decision not only for ourselves but for others around us. In today's me-me society it doesn't seem to happen to often unfortunately. :(

We will be taking our daughter who will be one and a half with us in September. We weren't planning on booking a cruise but after getting married on a cruise a couple weeks ago we decided that she would enjoy it. For us it works because I tend to do more while on board and he prefers to kick back and do more on excursions while I'm a chill on the beach girl. It works out well because no matter what either one or both of us would have no problem hanging back with her so she can stay on her routine.

  14. Why oh why do people insist on bringing babies & toddlers on cruises..... Leave the little ones with Grandma or Auntie.

Do yourself and your fellow cruisers a favor and leave the little ones at home where they belong !

It's a family friendly line. We just went on our honeymoon on the pride (without the baby) and saw a lot of things that I thought she would enjoy. When it came time to book our next one we decided she would come along even though we originally planned on waiting a few years.

  15. I think the reason why some of the replies got to me is because I know I would both apologize and remove my child so at that point someone saying something to me would offend me. I don't understand how someone thinks it's ok to leave there child to sit there and cry. Even if you take the other diners out of the equation removing the child from all the stimulation is also what's best for the child.

  16. I'm honestly shocked that people think someone should eat somewhere they don't want to or away from their family over something that may have accumulated to 2 minutes of your overall nightly dining. Don't get me wrong I would try and quiet her down even if it was a happy screech but to me that and a crying baby are two totally different things.

  17. I am bringing my daughter on a cruise next year and she will be one and a half. If she acts out I will remove her like I would anywhere else because it's in everyone's best interest hers included. That being said if my daughter let out a super quick happy squeal and someone asked us to leave over that i would have more than a few choice words.

  18. Here's a little review while my daughter is napping lol.

I was cutting it close with getting there on time but they made boarding a breeze and it actually worked out perfectly because the rest of my party had just boarded so my husband didn't see me until I walked down the aisle.

I did my hair and makeup myself so when I got to my cabin I just had to change. Then the photographer called and asked if it was ok if he came up and took some pictures before. He was great and very funny. After a few minutes we all walked down to the library where I waited until it was go time. After the ceremony we took some more pictures in the chapel and then it was time to head to beauties for the reception. We did the time to celebrate package and I was worried that an hour would seem rushed but it really didn't. The food and cake were a huge hit and even with an open bar everyone still chose to only drink the signature drink (blushing bride) because they were really good and packed quite a little punch. As for food I think the biggest hit was the chicken balls on fire (soooo good) and the only complaint was on the stuffed mushrooms. I have to say that we had only been on one cruise before and noticed how friendly all the crew was but after working with them one on one like this I can't even put into words how amazing everyone really was. One of the first questions most of my family asked when we got back (we were the only ones who sailed) was if we saw certain people again and how they were doing. They really left a wonderful impression on everyone. After everyone left we went around the ship and took more picture and got back to the room just in time for the muster drill. The next night we met up with the photographer to go over pictures and I was floored. Everything was so beautiful. He truly did an amazing job and I was floored at how quickly it was done.

Overall it was a perfect wedding for us and I'm so happy that we decided to a carnival wedding. If anyone has any questions I'd be happy to answer them.
