  1. We have a suite booked more than 9 months out with a latitudes offer. Here is a breakdown of our OBC and points for our 7 day cruise...

    28 points

    • 7 for each cruise day
    • 7 for the suite
    • 7 for more than 9 months out
    • 7 for latitudes offer

How do you see the confirmation of points for each of those line items? Do you need to request an amenities confirmation from NCL or can you view it on line before your cruise?

    Thanks!

  2. we did! I loved it! Did you? Did you have Joemar as your steward? He was fabulous! I loved our balcony. And our robes. It was quiet down there and only heard the glow party one night from Spice, other than that it was quiet. Loved loved it. You???
Loved it too. Actually could see the fireworks from our balcony! I don't remember who are steward was. Did you book the same cabin for your Getaway cruise? We are movin' on up to the Haven :) Can't wait!!

  3. Sailed the Breakaway in September with family. We had a solo traveler in our group who originally booked a studio. As the cruise got closer, she was able to upgrade to a BX (balcony guarantee for one person) for the same price as her studio booking!! Anyway, she was assigned cabin 8754. It was awesome!

Yes, it overlooked part of the waterfront area, but made for great people watching. When we docked in Bermuda, she overlooked the port, also great people watching. While it might seem really far away from the pool, etc., it was actually such a convenient cabin, just a short walk down the hallway and you are super close to other public areas.

The only downside, you will hear a little "boom boom" from the theatre. But it doesn't go on real late, so not a big problem.

Hope that helps. Enjoy your cruise!

  4. Probably not -- but it is something more than a plate of chocolate dipped strawberries, and my family is ready to move on with enjoying the preparations for vacation.

I'm putting this here so that if others are trying to get compensation from NCL, they at least know what's possible. But hey -- if anyone wants to pick up the battle and fight for more OBC for all of us, go for it!

Wow, what a great attitude. I don't know if I could be as gracious had I been in your situation. Thanks for the updates here and enjoy your cruise!

  5. The only way they can change is if they want to pay for an upgrade. The risk you take when booking a guarantee.

Hmmm, okay thanks. I had read in another thread where somebody successfully was able to switch cabins. Maybe they had extenuating circumstances and NCL was feeling generous.

Okay so even if they cannot do anything about it at this point (which is fine), anybody out there who knows anything about theater noise issues on those Deck 8 balconies?

    Thanks!

  6. I'm posting this question for a friend who booked a balcony guaranty cabin on the Breakaway. The cabin number has finally shown up on the booking. It's #8756, a Category BB (regular) balcony forward.

The big question - will there be noise from the theater right below? I've read that the M6 balconies just forward of 8756 don't have an issue with theater noise and it's primarily the interiors on deck 9 that have the problem.

Any thoughts on whether they should *try* to change the cabin to something further away from the theater noise? They like the idea of being on a public deck, near the Waterfront, etc., etc.

    Thanks!

  7. We are booking the Breakaway and I am trying to decide which AFT balcony (cat B1) to book! I am driving myself crazy. For the sailing date we have picked, the selection is pretty good. What to do, what to do?

We've sailed the EPIC (B6, extended balcony) loved it! Have also been on the Pearl (loved it too!), but I know the Pearl has nothing whatsoever to do with the Breakaway lol!

So my question is really for those of you who struggled with the same dilemma... how did you decide which AFT balcony to choose? (Not the suites or the handicaps, but the regular B1's).

    Many thanks for any thoughts!

  8. I have a little battery operated fan I take EVERYWHERE. Bought it at Walmart, it runs on D batteries and I always take extra batteries. When we cruise, I always tuck it in my carry-on for fear if I put it in the checked luggage, they might rummage through my big suitcase and find my smuggled wine! Back on point... never have had a question with that little fan in my carry on bag.

  9. If it hasn't devastated them by now I doubt its gonna. I cannot really see how taking a ham sandwich and some chips is gonna devastate anything.

I think the main concern is fruit since it can introduce pests into an area that are invasive and not indigenous to their eco-system. It can have tragic results (thinking back to fruit fly fiascos, etc., in southern California).

  10. I can confirm this is true. We parked at the Miami port in November and again in December, 2010. As others have stated, the person who qualifies for the handicap tag, placard, plate, whatever, MUST be in the vehicle. When you enter the garage pre-cruise, take your parking ticket and proceed to a handicap spot. When you return from the cruise, hand your parking ticket to the attendant at the exit gate and let the attendant know you qualify for free handicap parking. They will have you complete a very short form and will also ask for your registration (or some other official documentation) showing that the handicap license belongs to the vehicle's occupant.
