Loved it too. Actually could see the fireworks from our balcony! I don't remember who are steward was. Did you book the same cabin for your Getaway cruise? We are movin' on up to the Haven :) Can't wait!!we did! I loved it! Did you? Did you have Joemar as your steward? He was fabulous! I loved our balcony. And our robes. It was quiet down there and only heard the glow party one night from Spice, other than that it was quiet. Loved loved it. You???~Denise

You're making me so excited for next year! LOL
Youngest, not to hijack the thread, but... I think we had the same cabin on the Breakaway (different dates lol). 11910? How did you like it?

Loving this! Keep the pics coming :)

Sailed the Breakaway in September with family. We had a solo traveler in our group who originally booked a studio. As the cruise got closer, she was able to upgrade to a BX (balcony guarantee for one person) for the same price as her studio booking!! Anyway, she was assigned cabin 8754. It was awesome!
Yes, it overlooked part of the waterfront area, but made for great people watching. When we docked in Bermuda, she overlooked the port, also great people watching. While it might seem really far away from the pool, etc., it was actually such a convenient cabin, just a short walk down the hallway and you are super close to other public areas.
The only downside, you will hear a little "boom boom" from the theatre. But it doesn't go on real late, so not a big problem.
Hope that helps. Enjoy your cruise!

Probably not -- but it is something more than a plate of chocolate dipped strawberries, and my family is ready to move on with enjoying the preparations for vacation.
I'm putting this here so that if others are trying to get compensation from NCL, they at least know what's possible. But hey -- if anyone wants to pick up the battle and fight for more OBC for all of us, go for it!
Wow, what a great attitude. I don't know if I could be as gracious had I been in your situation. Thanks for the updates here and enjoy your cruise!

The only way they can change is if they want to pay for an upgrade. The risk you take when booking a guarantee.
Hmmm, okay thanks. I had read in another thread where somebody successfully was able to switch cabins. Maybe they had extenuating circumstances and NCL was feeling generous.
Okay so even if they cannot do anything about it at this point (which is fine), anybody out there who knows anything about theater noise issues on those Deck 8 balconies?
Thanks!

I'm posting this question for a friend who booked a balcony guaranty cabin on the Breakaway. The cabin number has finally shown up on the booking. It's #8756, a Category BB (regular) balcony forward.
The big question - will there be noise from the theater right below? I've read that the M6 balconies just forward of 8756 don't have an issue with theater noise and it's primarily the interiors on deck 9 that have the problem.
Any thoughts on whether they should *try* to change the cabin to something further away from the theater noise? They like the idea of being on a public deck, near the Waterfront, etc., etc.
Thanks!

We have that cabin on the Sept. 15 sailing. I'll take pics and post if there's nothing reported by then :)

Excellent review! We sail in September, have never been to Bermuda, and I found your tips perfect. Thanks so much :)

me too!
We sail Sept 15! Hopefully by then, lots of pics will surface. But if you don't see what you need, I'll get some pics for you :)

Here's a picture of my B1 on deck 12:
. . . .
Decks 9 and 12 are believed to be the largest, deck 14 the smallest.
We have 11910 booked. If it's anything like your deck 12 balcony, I'll be very pleased :)

Love reviews with pictures! And the pic of your sister with the chess piece is hysterical. Waiting for more!

we chose 9320 bigger balcony and bed by the balcony
I am looking at the deck plan and trying to figure this out :) Also, when we sailed the EPIC, it was easy to tell which cabins had beds by the balcony because the curves showed up on the deck plans. What is the clue on the Breakaway deck plan? Thanks for the help!

.... decided to relocate to deck 11.
Good luck.
I was actually considering 11910. The balcony looks a tad larger, but who knows if those deck plans are accurate.
Thanks everyone for the comments so far.

We are booking the Breakaway and I am trying to decide which AFT balcony (cat B1) to book! I am driving myself crazy. For the sailing date we have picked, the selection is pretty good. What to do, what to do?
We've sailed the EPIC (B6, extended balcony) loved it! Have also been on the Pearl (loved it too!), but I know the Pearl has nothing whatsoever to do with the Breakaway lol!
So my question is really for those of you who struggled with the same dilemma... how did you decide which AFT balcony to choose? (Not the suites or the handicaps, but the regular B1's).
Many thanks for any thoughts!

Your little guy is adorable, your pics are great, and I love the details you include in your review (train info!) We have been on one Med cruise but plan on going back this year and I've bookmarked your review for future reference. Great job so far :)

I have a little battery operated fan I take EVERYWHERE. Bought it at Walmart, it runs on D batteries and I always take extra batteries. When we cruise, I always tuck it in my carry-on for fear if I put it in the checked luggage, they might rummage through my big suitcase and find my smuggled wine! Back on point... never have had a question with that little fan in my carry on bag.

Excellent review so far! We were on the Hawaii cruise prior to yours, the one immediately following dry dock. We had a great cruise despite the hiccups (horrible embarkation and dining room fiascos come to mind). Anyway... can't read to read the rest of your review :)

If it hasn't devastated them by now I doubt its gonna. I cannot really see how taking a ham sandwich and some chips is gonna devastate anything.
I think the main concern is fruit since it can introduce pests into an area that are invasive and not indigenous to their eco-system. It can have tragic results (thinking back to fruit fly fiascos, etc., in southern California).

Exquisite photos! Thanks so much for sharing. We are doing the Chef's Table on our Jan 20 Hawaii cruise. Very excited, especially now that I've read your review :)

Too much money for a family: $75pp + $15pp ($360 for us)
We've never done the Chef's Table so I need to ask... I know it costs $75pp. What is the $15pp for?

I can confirm this is true. We parked at the Miami port in November and again in December, 2010. As others have stated, the person who qualifies for the handicap tag, placard, plate, whatever, MUST be in the vehicle. When you enter the garage pre-cruise, take your parking ticket and proceed to a handicap spot. When you return from the cruise, hand your parking ticket to the attendant at the exit gate and let the attendant know you qualify for free handicap parking. They will have you complete a very short form and will also ask for your registration (or some other official documentation) showing that the handicap license belongs to the vehicle's occupant.

How do you see the confirmation of points for each of those line items? Do you need to request an amenities confirmation from NCL or can you view it on line before your cruise?
Thanks!
