I found the posting on here, where Harrys email was shared, and I emailed him my thoughts.
I booked this cruise specifically for the stop in Bermuda.
I'm not a big cruiser; in the past I did Alaska, and a Pacific coastal one.
Welcome to Cruise Critic. I'm trying to "do the math" here. You are flying all the way to Rome to take a 16-night cruise just to go to Bermuda?

The airport transfer from the ship… if you buy on NCL it’s $27.00 PP of you buy it at the terminal is $20.00 PP same bus ! Go figure!
So, if we're not in a hurry to get to Seatac, do you suggest we go outside and check out the NCL bus hoping for a cheap price. If no vacancy, then we just Uber? We're carry-on only so it's not a luggage issue for us.
Thanks again for the awesome review!

It’s the amazing Wi-Fi speed!! I don’t need to perform different holding positions to get a signal … it’s jaw dropping!!! Yes… definitely see Sitka … just prepare for rain and the chill!!!
Thanks for the excellent review! We sail Sept 10. Are you using ship's wifi to post all these pics or do you have good cell service in the different ports?
Thanks, Denise

And I would take almost anything rather than a non-stop 3 hour flight in a CRJ 200.
No way could I get my husband on that aircraft lol.

Original poster here! We switched up our plans and decided to fly direct non-stop JFK-PHX. We live near Tucson and we'll just do a one-way car rental from Phoenix to Tucson.
We flew to Cabo San Lucas with a connection at Lax in February. The day of our flight, Delta notified us via early morning text that one of our flights was cancelled. We're still feeling the burn from that. A huge hassle (if you've ever had to change planes @ LAX you know what I'm talking about!). Anyway, the direct flight became our priority but thanks for all the feedback!

Could someone recommend a specific pair of binoculars (Amazon link?) We are headed to Alaska next month (have been multiple times before but always enjoy). Our binoculars are old and clunky so would love to upgrade with something lightweight and reasonably priced if there is such a thing! Thanks!

We're cruising NCL to Alaska and a search for ONPOINT here pulled up this thread. Here's my question...
For those of you scheduling an Onpoint online test, how far ahead of time did you schedule your appt? Did you have any issues with their schedule being full and not getting your desired Zoom appt time?
Our cruise is Sept 10 and I don't want to schedule Onpoint quite yet on the off chance Canada changes their requirements. Thanks.

Our Escape transatlantic departing from Rome on Nov 1st has also disappeared. I did an online chat with NCL and the rep said she could see no itinerary changes or cancellations. so I'm betting on a website glitch.

We are platinum and are entitled to a 10% price reduction. It doesn't show up when I try to book online. Do I need to call the shore excursion number and book through them in order to receive the discount? I don't recall if I did that previously or had to go to the shore excursion desk once on the ship and get the discount there. Thanks.
Did you actually put the excursion in the cart and review the checkout $ amounts? We are also platinum and I am able to see the 10% discount plus the $50 off the first name on the booking.

When we do port excursions, we usually use independent tour guides so pardon my ignorance here 🙂
When I book a shore excursion at NCL.com, I know I put it in my cart and pay for it then. If I decide to cancel it before sailing, does NCL just refund back to my credit card? And can I cancel myself online or do I need to contact NCL by chat or phone?
Also, if I want to book a ship's excursion, is there a sense of urgency? In other words, do they sometimes fill up and NCL does not add additional tour buses?
Thanks!

Hi. I don't have the answer to your question but I'm curious what the benefit is to having NCL choose a hotel for you? We chose a hotel largely based on on what other cruisers here had to say about their stays.

Can someone help me with a little math 🙂
We're in a Club Balcony for 16-day transatlantic. Both of us are Platinum. So do we get a total of 4 bags of free laundry - 2 for Club Balcony perk and 2 for Platinum perk?
I guess my question is, do we qualify for any additional bags because the cruise is long? We're coming onboard with dirty laundry from a pre-cruise hotel stay lol.
Thanks!

I was concerned because we have a lot of the free "orange tests" with expired dates. But a little research and I learned that the expiration dates have been given an extended shelf life so it shouldn't be a problem. Here's the list:

The question was asked but overlooked... Did On Point verify or care about the expiration date on the test? Like others, I have a bunch of the orange iHealth tests that are a few months beyond the expiration date.
Thanks.

Thanks everyone. We booked this cruise kind of late and many of the on-line dining slots are picked over. So I'll just keep the 4 I have and do my best to tweak once onboard.

We're booked on the Escape Transatlantic which is 16 nights. So that entitles us to 3 dinners with the dining package. We are also Platinum, so that's 2 more dinners. I have 4 of the dinners booked. When I try to book a 5th, NCL wants to charge me.
Any tips on this?
Thanks!

What airline are you traveling with?
My vote is Atlanta. I wouldn’t want to do O’Hare unless you have a decently long layover, rit’s huge and isn’t the easiest to navigate quickly if need be.Edited to add: sorry I just read it’s delta. I would do Atlanta as that’s Delta’s hub. I feel like they do connections, luggage moving etc really well there, maybe they do well in general…but I feel like if you had any issues there’s plenty of other delta flights to get on in Atlanta just in case.
Hi, thanks for replying. Our choices are Delta in Atlanta, or AA if we opt for ORD or DFW. United is IAH. All are similar prices so the layover airport is really the deciding factor. I am tracking the pricing of a few through Google flights.

We are arriving at the Manhattan cruise terminal following a transatlantic cruise In November. We need to get from New York to Tucson. We have pretty much decided to depart out of LGA. Obviously there are zero non-stop flights but there are many one-stop options. Assuming all of them have similar departure times and layover times (we have plenty of time to make connections), does anyone have opinions on layovers at ORD vs ATL vs DFW? Where would 2-1/2 hours be least painful?
We are familiar with ATL and comfortable with it, but it's Delta and tends to be pricier. Every time we've been routed through DFW we've had issues. I know nothing about Chicago/ORD. We do have a fourth option with United via IAH if anyone wants to chime in on that airport.
I realize this is a huge open-ended question, but I appreciate any feedback from all you frequent flyers!

We are on a transatlantic cruise, arriving Manhattan cruise ship terminal on Thursday, Nov 17. I have a few different flight choices, none are that great but "it is what it is". All of the flight options are after 1:00 pm. The airport choices are the usual... JFK, EWR or LGA.
So based on airport alone, is there a preferred departure airport?
Thanks!

We're sailing the Bliss out of Seattle and have the same problem... flight has been changed a few times. I've been reading the West Coast departure board. General consensus is that any flights before 11:00 am would be stressful and iffy. It also depends on if you have TSA-Precheck to speed things up at the airport.
Seatac's port valet service is highly recommended, but it's only available for flights departing after twelve noon.

Here are a couple previous threads and a pre-filled search of this forum in case you want more info..
thank you for taking the time to reply to my post. I've been on these forums for over 16 years so I'm familiar with searching. I see the key word you used is "refundable". I have no idea if stockholder credit is refundable or non-refundable so it wouldn't have occurred to me to use that keyword. I am used to CCL on Princess so I'm not familiar with NCLH on Norwegian. I do not own the stock, thinking of buying on the dip for our upcoming cruise. So I still have the same questions. "Will it cover any upcharges at a bar or in a restaurant? Can I use it in the casino for gambling? Can I apply it to upgrading our internet plan? What about the spa?"

You should have this PDF available in your shareholder documentation, but I found it with a quick Google search (it was the first result when I searched for 'ncl shareholder benefit'). It seems it's non-refundable so it would carry the restrictions associated with that, some of which are spelled out in the document.
Thank you. I'm still confused on what it can be used for. Will it cover any upcharges at a bar or in a restaurant? Can I use it in the casino for gambling? Can I apply it to upgrading our internet plan? What about the spa? Interested in the experiences of others. Thanks!!

I posted this question in the stockholder thread and I guess it got buried, so trying again.
Can someone clarify what the shareholder obc can be used for? I'm assuming not gratuities and not casino. Appreciate the feedback. Thanks!

I don't think the poster meant foreign as in "foreign country". It was foreign as in an ATM not owned by your banking institution.
