  1. I've been to many elegant, upscale restaurants on shore where one arrives, and is encouraged to use the bar while waiting for a table. Even in Texas.

What I object to is making the playing field uneven for Anytime dining by allowing reservations.

How is allowing reservations making the playing field uneven when everyone has the option of making a reservation....just like a land based restaurant??

  2. You can check yourself in 24 hours before the flight.

When Princess checks you in later, they will get the boarding pass for the positions you received when you checked in.

Thus you can have your cake (check in 24 hours before flight) and eat it too (use EZCheck).

Sounds simple enough...have you done this before??

  3. can't you check in at the 24 hours and let princess do their thing? or will the bag processing mess up your spot in queue?

Not sure of the answer to that...others are saying they do early bird prior to the cruise to get a good boarding position..I think we have to hand in the EX Check forms way before the 24 hr check in period opens up.

  4. I thought one time - a few years back - that I checked myself in early and got my boarding passes at the airport (don't know why I didn't print them out). Doesn't Princess just handle the baggage part?

NO, they also check you in to your flight and issue your boarding passes.

  5. OK - so I think what you all are saying is I would take a risk to have Princess check me in unless I prepay for the early bird?? Otherwise best bet to skip ez check and check in myself right at 24hrs prior.

Thank you for your feedback...I like the idea of EZ Check but do not want to risk being the last to board.

  6. I understand that with Princess EZ Check they take our bags the night before and we do not see them until we arrive at our final destination..also that they check us into our flight and deliver our boarding passes to us the night before. We fly Southwest and they do not assign seats ahead of time...the sooner you check in the better boarding position you get...check in opens up 24 hrs before your scheduled flight...my question is...does Princess check us in ASAP 24 hrs ahead (or preferably sooner) or when they get to it...does anyone have experience with this...THANK YOU!

  7. I thought the balconies on the Caribe Deck of the Crown had loungers because they were almost double the size of the other balcony cabins??...have not been on the crown since 2006...Have been on the Royal and Regal recently and most of those balconies are small with no loungers

  8. I'm not planning on being late. I'm just asking a what if question. You guys are assuming I'm going to be late on purpose...not so. I'm asking how long will they hold my table if I'm unavoidably detained, i.e., late.

Again, there won't be anybody else at the table. It will be a table for two.

Yes, I know it will hold up others who are waiting on "my table" but it's not my intention to be rude. Sometimes people are late for many reasons.

How do you know you will definitely have a table for 2 in TD dining. I always thought you could request but not be guaranteed to get your request. Part of the reason why we do Anytime.

  9. Seriously????....the Passport to Value coupon book has always been free in our cabin including our most recent cruise last fall...usually the only coupon we use is for drinks....I'd like to know if anyone else PAID for this coupon book!

  10. Stayed in Deluxe Balcony on Royal and Standard Balcony on Regal, both on Lido Deck. Balconies are same size on both. Actually prefer the Standard Balcony over the Deluxe because desk is larger with more storage space. In Deluxe the desk and fridge are side by side. In standard the fridge/bar is on opposite wall making it easier for the two of us not to be on top of one another.

  11. I certainly do hope that your wallet is found and that you enjoy your cruise.

We also keep wallets, phones, jewelry and money in the safe and only take what is absolutely needed ashore.

Hubby likes to wear a jacket to dinner in the evenings...so I just give him my cruise card and lipstick to put in one of his pockets...works for me!!!

  12. You are exaggerating. The group has never been that big, it averages 400-500 guys.

    On 3000+ passenger ships.

Not an exaggeration...we sailed on Caribbean Princess fall of 2012 with Chumley's Bears on board...we realized right away there was a large group...they had some sort of tags around their neck..we asked a few men as we were exploring the ship and they told us about their group and said there were 800-900 of them.

  13. I am hoping that this was a computer glitch and that they can straighten it out for you as your shareholder credit should not have affected your AIBP

But...were you all in the same cabin??...some AIBP promotions are only good for the first two people in the cabin.
