Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Hi! We (Karen & Paul) are on the same cruise and have booked a private tour to Peninsula Valdez. (I've read that penguins are around all year, just not in the numbers they are until March 31 - the day before). We have room for more - so far only 4 of us are going. We go to Estancia San Lorenzo and Punta Norte, with national park entrance and a barbecue lunch included in the cost, which is $190 per person. You can find the information for this on Viator, although we did not book with them - look up "Cruise Shore Excursion Ea San Lorenzo Peninsula Valdes". We booked directly with Sentir Patagonia. If you're interested, let me know and I can arrange things with them to join us. They will send you a request for payment via PayPal. You can contact me at pakatomp@hotmail.com. Either way, looking forward to this cruise!!
  2. We did the Chef's Table on the Apex last fall. Yes, it was one large community table, but personally, I really enjoyed the mix of people. It's just one meal - if you don't like the people you're with, laugh and enjoy the uniqueness and the meal, then get on with the rest of your life! The meal and wine pairings were excellent. If you enjoy traveling to experience the restaurants of top chefs, you should enjoy this, and most likely at a much better price than other Michelin starred opportunities. We found it to be well worth the splurge. The only issue I had was that they gave us a book from the chef at the end of the meal that seemed to weigh 20 lbs! I returned it because my luggage would be so overweight! I also must add - while on the Apex, be sure to also make a dinner reservation at Eden. It was amazing!
