Yeah that didnt work.
I wasn't allowed.
I am so done with this.
Why did they let others get a vaccine and not me.
They said cause rules have changed and I can travel with mixed vaccine.
Very disheartening.
Sounds like in addition to proof of imminent travel proof of unacceptably of mixed doses would be helpful, eg Celebrity FAQs.
Sorry to hear this.

Well my sister just gave me an update. He got his third dose in Montreal. No problems at all. He had all his paperwork and conveyed all went well. I have no other details at this point. He is thrilled that he will be able to cruise now. Thanks for all the info and help getting this to happen.
Would appreciate any details you can provide when available. Did they go to the previously described Convention Centre? Did they have a pre booked appointment? Was there a particular area or division they addressed themselves to ?

This would be a gamechanger! Thank you for sharing. Bookmarked!
Maybe I’m not reading this correctly but I’m not sure they’ll be that useful for travel unless you live near one of the sites offering drive through tests. I must be missing something.

Is this a vaccine issue or they just don’t like Canadians ?

Had to do all that before our Alaska cruise, and Princess tested us onboard before we flew home. We'll get tested the day before our flight which leaves Vancouver around 6 AM no time to test on the day we fly out. So getting the arrival test at FLL is a huge help to us and others IF Princess won't test us at the pier before we board.
You will just want to check that they will test arriving passengers, not just departing passengers. There’s sure a lot to track and it changes constantly.

Awesome we paid $200+tax for the PCR test at SDM. $69 is totally worth it to me and now we get a free day in Fort Lauderdale, we've always gone the day before and never got a chance to see anything.
Not sure what your plans are but you need a test before you fly into the US.

Follow up to my earlier post. This sign was at the Barrhaven store but apparently this is a pilot program only currently offered at some locations (Gloucester in Ottawa). They said it will be rolled out further as test kits arrive.

Did you happen to see the cost of the test? I looked on the website and couldn't find it.
I just asked on the chat $99 for PCR and $69 for Antigen.

Are you looking at Check In on the app?

I think they are working through adding it to all cruises. Mine just appeared today and same as you I had already checked in and had the express pass. When is your cruise and on what ship?
As a note, the health questionnaire only opens up a day before your cruise. Ours opened the day before at about 1:00 pm in August.
Ok I will watch for it. We cruise November 12 on the Silhouette… God Willing!

I’m not seeing this. I have completed check in and have my express pass. It indicates I will need to do the health and wellness questionnaire 2 days pre cruise.

Also as an FYI, though not my favourite bar you may find the Passport Bar during the day has a fairly good selection of wines. Or the Ensemble Lounge (though this one used to only open at about 5 pm).
-
Mine reopened today “as advertised” and all my info was saved from prior completion.

You may wish to have a look at the Canadian Cruisers section where these issues are widely discussed.

I believe you need to present a Quebec address.

We plan to use fast test now. On their front page it explicitly says international travellers welcome. But we are in an Airbnb for four days so I would use that address if required.

I agree with the other gnome12, he likely got the PCR test. You can use a PCR test to get into the US, but it is more expensive and not necessary. The Shoppers Drug Mart $40 Rapid Antigen test is sufficient and meets the US flight requirements. I know that it seems that some Shoppers Drug Mart's did not know that. I sent a friend to Shoppers to go to Vegas and they tried to tell her she need the expensive PCR test and she had to assure them she just wanted the $40 rapid antigen test. They finally gave her what she asked for and she was fine flying to Vegas with it.
Similar experience here. I stopped into my local, outside of urban Ottawa, SDM last week just to ensure they had and were doing the tests there. The person at the pharmacy desk could only refer to it as the "rapid test". I said, yes the Antigen rapid test needed to enter the US. She didn't know and said I should check the government web site ... Anyway, they have them, just need to pre book an appointment. I am trying to line up all the ducks for early November while staying current on changing requirements.

@Josie201 I am on this cruise solo and also from Ontario. Where is the Facebook page. I still have to book a hotel but have already booked direct flights through west jet.
Sorry I don’t know about a FB page.

I follow the Celebrity board closely and I have yet to see any mention of a Canadian not being allowed to board because their provincially issued proof of vaccination wasn't accepted. I believe that Celebrity, in spite of it US-centric focus on CDC cards, is accepting the wide variety of original Canadian documents.
DW and I will take the Ontario cash register-type receipts we were issued at the clinics as well as the downloadable watermarked PDF. I really have no concern about their acceptance.
As for the new Ontario proof of vaccination documents with QR codes coming soon, they don't meet the "original document" concept but sure, we'll probably take them along as well.
I hear ya! As you know I follow the Celebrity board closely as well. I know I’m over thinking it but I don’t want any surprises. I had always assumed my PDF was adequate so it’s nice to see others thinking the same and some with on the ground experience. I bet our QR code thing won’t have all the detail required, and I doubt our federal passport will be ready by early November when we hope to cruise.
-
It’s certainly not too clear! We are supposed to be getting some type of system in Ontario but I’m not sure how detailed it will be ( ie re dates, type, etc) as I believe it is simply for access in Ontario to venues as a proof of vaccination.

You should print and take both 1st and 2nd dose receipts. You can download copies through https://covid19.ontariohealth.ca/.
Yes I have those. That’s what I was intending to bring but the comment about no photocopies caught at me. But perhaps the real meaning was no photocopies of the CDC card, which I don’t have (ie these print outs could be photocopied).

This is developing tonight. I’d give it a few days to percolate. I know the angst you are feeling but I think this is a first step and a big positive.
