My recent experience with calling to upgrade for a B2B got me two different prices for the two cruises, neither of which was anywhere near $17.10 per day. You should call, and ask lots of questions .... In the end I was happy with the amount but I have no idea how it was derived.

Just a quick question, if I may. Were you able to upgrade your beverage package prior to make your final payment on the cruise or did you proceed with the final payment and then called Celebrity to upgrade?
The reason for asking, I would be interested in upgrading our package for a cruise in 2023 and one in 2024. Upgrading early, would make it easier to budget and protect against future cost increases.
To confirm what Poffles said - yes this was done prior to final payment.

So --- the OP should be elated with $9-10.60 pp per night. I know I would.
Indeed I am. But the explanation was 🫤

After trying all week, I finally got through today. But, it wasn't exactly what I had hoped to hear or complete.
I have a B2B scheduled on Edge for this November, a four night and a ten night.
She wanted to deal with each reservation separately which is fine.
For the four night, she quoted me a $9 per night upgrade charge, plus gratuity. She said this reflected my 10% Elite discount. I said I thought the discount was supposed to be 15% but she said no that's only if I bought it without the Always Included. Didn't sound right to me but I was happy with the $9 per night charge as I had thought it had increased.
Then we got to the ten night cruise. This one was for some reason $10.60 per night. She said the per night charge was higher for the longer cruises. I said I had never heard this before. She checked with a supervisor and confirmed.
In any event, I'm comfortable with the per night charge but has anyone ever heard about different rates for shorter/longer cruises? I have received confirmation of my first order but not my second. I hope I don't have to call again.

I’m now thinking the problem has something to do with the Canada wide outage of a major ISP/telecom company. Perhaps Celebrity uses their network for its toll free lines.

I've tried three different numbers to call Celebrity today. None of them work - just a bunch of clicks.... Maybe they disconnected everything to reboot their Customer Service Response Times? Ha

I am on day three of trying to call. So far I've probably tried at least a half of dozen times and wasted over 10 hours with no first response yet .... But I do keep getting the e-mails telling me to call before the deals expire! HaHa

I don’t think this is correct. We could open the one next to us but not all the way across.
Thanks. That’s what I sort of feared …. Oh well I’m sure we’ll manage. It’s been for on S class to have one huge balcony to visit back and forth. Problems problems. 😛

You can't, but your stateroom attendant can.
I should have been more specific .... I know the stateroom attendant has to do it.
Are the SV on Edge class able to be opened between all cabins on all decks? If anyone knows... Thanks.

We always book SV but coming up on our first on Edge. We have a group of six cabins in a row. Can we open up the balconies between all cabins?

My current plan is to forgo the upgrade to Elite since the limit is now widely reported to be 15 drinks of any kind, buy a beverage card for $100 and use that to stock up on waters and canned sofas in the room.

There are lots of variable to consider, with respect to the ship's latitude, sun's declination and route. Can you provide some details on the itinerary and time of year, otherwise it is impossible to provide a definitive answer.
I thought westbound TAs were generally October or early November but perhaps not. We’d be looking at the Barcelona to Florida route in that timeframe.

I know generally speaking we’ll be sailing into the sunsets, and we generally prefer aft facing balconies … so I think we might need to book a more standard balcony but wondering about port vs starboard to enjoy afternoon and early evening sun. Any experience to share ? TIA

I booked today for flights in January. I noted it said price is not guaranteed until I pay which is October. Would I expect to see constant fluctuations like I would see if I was monitoring prices on the airlines own website. Up one day, down the next?

We went to the WCB on Equinox in November. They would only make the drinks on their menu, no exceptions. Luckily I found a Manhattan that worked, but we didn't go back.
My SIL doesn’t drink alcohol. Three of us ordered one of their concoctions and she asked for a Diet Coke. They said they didn’t have it. We left and never returned. I’m sure they could have gotten one from somewhere …. They directed us to go to Al Bacio to check.

Oh my goodness, Jim!! I'm sitting in front of my computer, jaw resting on my desk... I'm in utter shock at this most unfortunate news of your positive test result!! For the last couple of weeks, I've been updated my husband daily with great news of how you and Iain have managed to avoid covid due to your smart actions, everything from avoiding crowded areas, wearing the best masks at all times outside of your cabin (I even tracked down the 3M 9205 masks here in Canada for hubby and I to take on our B2B next month based on your recommendations and great success at remaining healthy!), and we've been so buoyed by your experiences, thinking we'd emulate everything you do and we'll be just fine... but if YOU can end up with a positive result, ANYONE can! I'm so very sorry that this has happened to you... what a disappointment for you both! 😞
I'm going to refill my coffee cup and break this bad news to my husband now... and for sure this will cause us to reconsider our plans for next month... just shocking, truly! We really want to travel, and thought we could almost assure ourselves we could avoid covid, but now I'm not so sure.
Hope you both remain asymptomatic and are able to salvage the rest of your trip in a happy way.
Exact same here! I've been updating DH for a couple of weeks. We are both shocked and so sad to hear this turn of events.
Stay save Jim/Iain and keep us updated. Rooting for you both!

Just coming back in to give an update. Today I booked a shore excursion for DH and myself, cost was $149.95 per person. We had $300 (or $100 x 3) shore excursion credit. I put them in my cart, and the full amount was taken from the shore excursion credit, leaving us each with a balance of $150.05. I'm very pleased with this.

They had much better selections pre covid. Still on the fence if I should upgrade to premium. Probably cheaper to pay daily upcharge
I will be watching what you decide. I’d be unhappy to pay to upgrade only to have limited lower quality options! We don’t sail again till November so hope these issues are distant memories !

Are The Cardinals still onboard. We really enjoyed them in November.

I'd found day passes online pre-cruise for $39pp so we gave it a shot (would not have paid more).
regarding the on line passes for the thermal spa was that on Celebrity’s website ?

Has anyone crossed the border from U.S. at a land border? Do they have to see your ArriveCan on your device or just look at passport and ask if Arrivecan completed
We drove across on Sunday. The CBSA officer told us specifically the ArriveCAN receipt was linked to our passport. He did ask to see our negative test results. I realize that requirement will end April 2.

Does HAL allow/offer self walk-off disembarkation, specifically in San Diego. Starting to look at flights and there is an 11:50 a.m. flight, with the next one later in the afternoon and an overnight stay en-route. Would only consider the 11:50 a.m. if we could self-disembark and get into a cab early. Yes, I know there is always a chance of immigration or other clearance delays.

I believe that the issue of extension is related to when it was originally booked/cancelled. Also, you can pay a fee to extend it.

HIA repricing score!

I called yesterday to add the Crew Incentive to our Hawaii cruise. We have HIA. I was unsuccessful as she said our category was sold out.
