That was our first cruise also. Don't remember much except the party hats, etc. on formal night. It was a wonderful experience that got us hooked on cruising.

SA is one of my favorite airlines. Much better than any US Airlines in services, food, and safety. Actually it's my second favorite right behind JAL. We are going to Asia this summer. Unfortunately we are not using Singapore Airlines or JAL because we are taking a tour package.

Thank you all for the information. I was one of those sitting tight, holding out and wait ones. Got my $500 certificate and 3 more upgrade ($100) certificates yesterday. Now, just need to look for a better cc to change to. :p

Generally, taxis do not accept credit cards or US Dollars in HK.

Thank you all for your work. I am one of those who got the wrong certificate. Waiting to receive the $500 one. Just sitting back and wait as advised by others. Please let us know if you received new info. Thanks again!

There are also Ginger Drink Crystal packets. They sell them in any Asian grocery stores. Dissolve in hot water, then drink. Taste good too. It's good to fight cold/cough.
Another remedy that might work. Peanut butter.

Wow! Great job compiling this together! Now we'll have it for our NEXT trip to Hawaii! Thanks!

Cruise Alaska twice and both with Celebrity--Galaxy and Mercury. Loved them both! Felt being pampered, and very elegant. The atmosphere was relaxed and intimate. The price was right also. I would love to go again on HAL, heard that they are similar to Celebrity.

Wow! Our first cruise was also on the Southward in 1992, 5-day Baja. Got us hooked on cruising!

For our first two cruises, we didn't know about getting there early, and did we miss out! Since then, we've decided that we will get there as early as they let us, usually 10:30 or 11:00. The lines are shorter, less crowded. Once you get on board, you can relax and settle in. Have a nice quiet buffet lunch, some ships (Carnival) have the ship tour then, and get ready for the drill. It gives you time to also check to see if you have everything needed in your cabin, like the number of life jackets, etc. Then you can stroll around the ship while it gets ready to ship out. I actually enjoy that part of the cruise the best.

Sail away--back of ship, Deck 11--hardly any one there.
Buffet--must have French Fries--the best.
Blue Lagoon--when you need to get off the ship early and everybody else is thinking the same. The buffet is crowded and crazy. Go to the Blue Lagoon and enjoy a quiet breakfast served to your liking. Not a lot of choices, but you don't have to fight for food.
