  1. Trying to decide between the IOTS five nights with stops in Labadee and Falmouth or the new Carnival Vista six nights with 3 stops: Cozumel, Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman. We are a family of 6 with 2 kids, 2 adults and 2 grandparents. Have not sailed either line so would love some feedback. Royal has the KSF promo on right now so it's a little cheaper...but want to make sure we pick the best option. Thank you.

  2. I booked the Vista in February 2016 for an 8 day on April 22 of 2017. I have the ONLY four person Cloud 9 Spa interior on deck 11 on the ship for my wife and two young daughters. I paid $2865 with tax and port charges for the four of us. Today a standard interior on a lower deck is only about $50 less. The prices keep going up what seems every week. I never felt that the price I paid was great but the further along the calendar goes the better our price looks. The reasons I booked is the fact it's a new ship perfect for young children and it went to four ports I haven't been to. It is what it is but comparatively speaking we just got off the new NCL Escape. I booked that a year out as well and got a balcony and 2 unlimited drink packages for me and the wife for the same price as the Vista. It was an amazing new ship that I can already say was a way better value then the Vista I booked for next year. Still looking forward to the Vista for the criteria It met for us. On a side note, I'd never book a DCL cruise ..... total ripoff in my opinion with their skyrocketing prices.

Can you please share the room number? I didn't think there were spa cabins on the Vista that could accommodate 4?

    Thanks

  3. I just replied to your post. Mahogany Bay is Carnival's port. It is for Carnival Cruise Lines and their company lines only. Very secure. They did a great job with it and they have water rentals, beach chairs, umbrellas, clam shells, etc. I have walked through there and I like it but I am more about West Bay Beach, West End Village, and the west side of the island.

Does this include Princess cruise ships as well?

  4. Great review! My family has rooms 5351 and 5353 booked for June and I loved hearing about the small breakfast buffet near the rooms! I wish we could get a balcony room like yours, oh well maybe next time!

Would you happen to have any pictures that you might be able to post? Thinking of booking this room for our next cruise? Also, do you know the square footage of the room? Are all the rooms in this area of the ship newly built?

Would appreciate any feedback anyone has on these rooms:)

    With thanks,

    K

    Thanks for sharing this!

Sounds like it might be a better deal than what I booked yesterday. Can't wait to find out now:)

  6. Yes, I have booked a 4J category again. It's just so roomy, convenient, and a bargain.

Which one? Sunshine to Grand Turk & Amber Cove, or Navigator to Cozumel & Nassau.

That's a no brainer for me! GT & Amber Cove. Just about every cruise I have been on either stops a Cozumel or Nassau. So, I don't think I would ever plan a cruise with just those two (unless it was rock bottom price and was an extra cruise for me that year). GT is nice and you don't have to spend a cent there, if you don't want to (plus it has a dock- come and go back to the ship as you please). Or you could rent a golf cart and explore the other side of the island. Another thing I want to do at GT is take a snorkeling tour to the great wall drop off. And Amber Cove I am really excited to visit someday. I have been to 2 other Dominican Republic ports and absolutely LOVE that country. Get off the beaten path and discover the culture and nature. We took an amazing ATV excursion in Samana to waterfalls and a secluded beach, and in La Romana, we did the awesome Seavis tour to Saona Island.

Now the ships: I have sailed on the Explorer of the Seas which is a sister ship to the Navigator. That class ship is super nice (grand open promenade, ice show, classy)! If cost and itinerary were NOT a factor, I would choose the Navigator. However, the Navigator's itinerary stinks, and I doubt you can cruise the Navigator cheaper than the Sunshine (at least not significantly cheaper.

Thanks again for your very valuable feedback!

  7. Absolutely love your reviews! Thanks for putting the time into sharing your experience for the benefit of others! Will you sail in the same stateroom category (4J) on your upcoming Sunshine cruise? We are debating a cruise on the Sunshine next year in a 4J (with stops in Grand Turks and Amber Cove) or an ocean view on the Navigator of the Seas (with stops in Nassau and Cozumel). Any advice on helping us decide would be welcomed:)

  8. Trying to decide between Navigator and Freedom of the Seas for family of 4 with two boys ages 7 and 10. Navigator is a 5 night out of Miami and we could stay in a family panoramic ocean view for roughly the same cost as a category G ocean view cabin on the Freedom from FLL. Itineraries are: Nassau and Cozumel on Navigator vs Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Playa Maya. Would appreciate some feedback:)

    Thanks
