  1. Sailing grandeur from Barbados and the pre cruise requirement from an RC email is

''Pre-Cruise: All guests 2 and older, regardless of vaccination status, must present a negative PCR test result no more than 3 days prior to sailing.""

We sail on the Sunday, so does that mean my test can be done Thurs,Fri or sat? Sunday not included?. (or does 3 days mean  Fri, sat AND sun?)

I really need to get the test done on the Thursday see, before flying out Friday.

CWC and cancelling because you test positive for covid are two different things. It remains to be seen if CWC will be extended. I suspect a positive covid test will probably get you a refund as RCI won't let you board if you are positive.

If course, no one knows for sure how things will look in May.

Thanks for the reply, never thought of that. Yeah of course no one knows, Ive just never cancelled a cruise in 'normal' times really close to sail date and wondered how it worked

You can tap your card on more than one machine at a time and play multiple machines under the same card all at the same time. My wife will set herself up on one machine and I will take herd card and go play another machine...when she is done she will grab her card and set herself up on another and so on.

isnt the taping of cards on the newer ships with the NFC seapasses???    just off the jewel and had to insert my card, taking it out turned the card slot red, so if id have tried take it out and insert it on my GFs machine it would only be counting her play??...........

  5. This is a very nice review. We enjoyed the ship and the cruise immensely and have booked another

cruise on this ship embarking Ded 10 2018: NIGHT SOUTHERN

I get off as you get on!

Great review im just hoping the ship isnt to small for me after going on the oasis class ones.

So is the latest i can eat 12 midnight and only in park cafe? (Not including room service)

  6. The drink only counts toward your "limit" if: 1) it has alcohol in it, and 2) you use Cheers to pay for it. If you decide to get an Aberfeldy on the rocks, for instance, and tell the bartender that you want to pay for it outside of Cheers, it doesn't count.

On my cruise before the last one, the Alchemy bartenders, at night, were very good at letting you know how many drinks you had -- "Sir, this is number 14 on Cheers." I could then choose to continue to drink by buying out of pocket, or I could get one more on Cheers. Note, however, that once you reach 15 drinks on Cheers, you are not allowed to even buy more. You are fully cut off. As long as you don't get that 15th drink, you can buy all you want.

this is my first carnival cruise and although i will definately buy the drinks package the limit seems a bit harsh. on RC i used to count to see if i got my moneys worth but always forgot to keep count ;-), but im sure some days especially sea days i could do more than 15, also id have drinks just to try them and if really didnt like them would just leave them and order another. hopefully if the GF doesnt drink her quota and i hit mine i can start using hers.

As someone already said, the energy drinks are Rockstar brand.

are these energy drinks included in the cheers package and dont count towards your 15 a day??

  7. Yes, Yes, Yes, I totally agree with all you geniuses that costs goes up every year. I believe it's called Inflation. Yes. Agreed.

    Just saw this post:

    https://cruisemaven.com/royal-caribbean-increases-gratuities-again-wonder-why/

    Esp:

"This is the third time in three years that Royal Caribbean has jacked up the rate for daily gratuities. In 2015, the daily gratuity went from $12 per person per day, to $12.95. Then again in 2016 the rate went from $12.95 to $13.50 per person per day. According to my math, in less than three years, that’s an increase of $2.50 per person per day (to $14.50 today)"

    So that's a 21% increase in 3 yrs.

Forget about 2001, I don't think they had auto grats way back then. I agree with the article that auto grats only began about 8 years ago or so...

My point is that, although they some of you who'll defend the cruise lines to the death & will pay whatever "service charge" that they place on your account, some like me would like an adult discussion about the annual 7% increases...

Great post OP. Its good to see the numbers and maybe the explanations, once you get past the usual 'we pay this, we pay that, we dont pay, you should pay' gratuities comments :o

  8. I'm cruising with my boy (11) in Jan and he's just as clingy and reluctant to go to the kids club...why don't they get that hanging with them puts a huge dent in the ogling of the male species and consuming of the alcohol that is key for single women cruising fun!

My type of solo female cruiser ;p:p:p

Does the kids club run through the night? ;-)

  9.

Which, I guess, is why I'm wondering about room service. I know, I know, 15 drinks is a lot but I hit my limit at least 2 nights on my previous cruise (and came very close the other nights) so I just want to know what my options are. If it means I order a few room service drinks before dinner so that I can have the rest of my Cheers drinks for that night... well.... ;p;pclear.png?emoji-winktongue-1704

wouldnt it work out cheaper to buy a bottle of spirits from the funshop to be in your room rather than the room service??

  10. it will be my girlfriends 30th the day we board the sensation in miami in november.

im going to buy the stateroom birthday decorations for the day we board (i may even splash out and buy two for two seperate days as i want the cake and the champagne package ;-) :):))

will anything else be automatically done i.e sing happy birthday\cake in the MDR or will they not know its her birthday unless i somehow notify them?
