  1. ive currently got the same dilemma, im looking at a cruise on this ship for nov 2018 round the caribbean for 10 days which i think is a good price with the included drinks package and upto $200 onboard spend offer.

the ports of call are all ones ive not been before and would like visit, but im unsure about the ship. after just getting off the allure and being on the freedom previously im thinking this ship will be to small and ill miss the size\activites\promenade that they offer, some peoples opinions on here arent helping either with 'id go on the navigator before the serenade' and alike.

also ive just been looking at recent compasses and little things like no sorrentos and the park cafe shuts at 12am arent very appealling, i like late nights and snacks :-D :-D

  2. Maybe someone on the ship will post to answer your question but it really doesn't matter. The price can change from sailing to sailing and can change at any time for a particular sailing.

yeah i thought as much i just wanted get a rough idea as im looking to book a cruise and at the minute the drinks package is included so wanted see just how much worth id be getting free. just off the allure and paid £40+18% a day and thought with the serenade been a smaller older ship the package may have been cheaper per day......

  3. although im no where near as an experienced cruiser as the OP (2 times on RC, once on msc) i went on the divina last year from miami to the caribbean, enjoyed it and certainly would go on again.

pluses for me was how cheap the drinks package was, i loved how the buffet was open till 2am for late night food after the nightclub (instead of just pizza and dodgy beef sandwiches on the allure), sail away parties from every port seemed more 'party' (think we had one 'sort of' sail away party from FL on allure) and the ship was really 'bling' everywhere with a posh MDR and some really nice sets of stairs for nice photos (instead of stood infront of some dodgy canvas on the allure).

i look forward to you updates!

try the purple rain drink! i lived on them for a week!!

  4. I think you will find that they will take away any benefit like OBC you may have had on the original booking - but if you didn't get any special deals, they will probably let you do it as its extra income.

Its always worth a call and good luck!!

i had no benefits\obc apart from a low deposit of £25 each (£50), and now that balance is paid in full.

The boardwalk balcony room on the website right now is £4 cheaper than i paid for my large interior so its not extra income for them is it

i just want to ask to be moved stateroom on the booking ive made and paid up in full on and if it has been done before (by a uk customer) or im just wasting my time and the cost of the phone calls ?

  5. made my final payment a couple of days ago on a large interior room (deadline was today, 31st of july)

checked the website today and surprise surprise a boardwalk balcony room if booked now is cheaper than my large interior!!

as i only paid a £50 deposit in january ive waited and waited 6 months for a balcony go cheaper and if it did was going book again and lose my £50 deposit (i did see them cheaper in may but they shot up before i had chance book)

i knew as soon as id payed up in full id see a boardwalk balcony cheaper!!

ANYWAY now ive paid in full does anyone know if i rang up and asked them to move me to a balcony room as its the same price would they? or would i be fobbed off and its just a wasted phone call???

  6. Nobody bothers, only hotel guests are on the property. Pick some loungers near the bar behind the burger place and you are on a small peninsula next to the lazy river. There are also some loungers out on the island that are really isolated.

Note that the "beach" isn't good - so many rocks and urchins that we gave up trying to get into the water. Water slides, lazy river, pool and food were great.

that has put me off going here, but in a good way, thanks.

i was looking at paying to go here but for a pool and drinks i can stay on the ship.

im looking for somewhere with a really nice beach for my day pass in jamaica?

  7. great review! i sail on the allure in september. Your WJ experience seems to be one echoed by a few people which i hope wont be to much of a problem on my cruise as i like to use the WJ more than the MDR, although people have said that the first afternoon in the WJ is the worst and gets better after day one?

im laughing at your drinks receipt rant! on my first cruise a few years ago on freedom, i didnt know any different and although id got the drinks package i used to sign every receipt i got given with every drink ordered (which was a lot of drinks :-) ) because i thought i had to! even up to the point where if i didnt get given a receipt id just assumed the barman was being lazy and wasnt registering my drinks on the till. anyway the more drunk i got through the day and night id just randomly start tipping everyone who served me a drink\gave me a receipt! so it worked for them on me!!

this years my OH first RC cruise, im goin try make up some story about how she has to sign every receipt or else theyll come looking for her at the end of the week for $$ for all the drinks shes not signed for
