  1. Cant believe it took till page six for someone ask about how much your paid, it was almost the first question on one of the fb groups you posted on!!

After ive paid my taxes and costs of living i have less money per month to spend than yourself and im stuck in the rainy cold snowy! Uk on the daily grind,

Arent you worried that disclosing your remuneration package tax free with no bills to pay will bust the urban legend held by most on here that your paid 'peanuts'?

And you get to cruise and seeing the world cost of living free?

    (Yes i am jealous :-D )

  2. Prepaying gratuities is optional. It will be charged to your account on the last full day of the cruise and charged to whatever payment you set up during check in.

No offence intended but yeah i know how gratuities work. You can choose to pre pay them as you book your cruise or like me i get them charged daily to my onboard account and i pay them with whatever payment ive set up.

The reason for my post is because a few years ago on RC if you chose my time dining you HAD to pre pay your tips as you booked the cruise, but then around jan '16 RC stopped this rule and you could have my time dining and not have to pre pay your tips.

Like ive said ive never booked or researched carnival so my post was just asking what their policy was with their 'your time dining' and tips on their ships

  3. looking to do a 5 day cruise in nov on the sensation. only ever cruised RC but want to try a carnival cruise, albeit i realise its a smaller older ship.

i can book through carnival.com for $755 or cruisenation.com for £545. by my conversion rate that means cruisenation works out cheaper and i can pick from empress, riviera or upper decks on cruisenation instead of just riviera through carninval.

which deck is the best from them 3? or not much difference?

would it be better to book through carnival.com though??

also can get $50 obc if i book by tomorrow thats why im looking to book, or will they do sale offers and obc offer throughout the year anyway?

  4. The grand prize goes to the first person who can state why the USA has the type of tipping policy it does for restaurant servers. Below minimum wage pay and make money in tips. 3...2...1...Go!

love the tipping threads on here :D

but ive just read through 11 pages to see the answer to this and still havent??

  5. Lots of people do this. Rather than calling it a B2B, I have read some refer to it as a side to side (S2S). There are many who don’t even cruise the same cruise line. They go from one cruise line to another at the same port. No hidden surprises, you will just need to switch out your luggage tags and head to new ship.

Piece of cake. We call them side to side. Get off of one & get on another one. Sometimes in the same port, sometimes in different ports.

thanks guys, just what i wanted know, because yeah my other option is maybe getting off the sots and going to do my first carnival cruise from miami :D

  6. I've got a 10 day cruise booked for Nov 2018 on the serenade returning to port everglades on December 10th. depending on how flights work when they come out I may book a second cruise on the independence ots which leaves port everglades on the 10th. As an inexperienced cruiser is this just a case of getting off one and walking round the corner to get on the other? Or am I missing something?

  7. i didnt have cases but had hand luggage and bits in my room till around 9am (although room attendant said i should be left by now when i went to fetch my stuff from breakfast!! - 3rd time id seen him all week!! and he'd left 2 rubbish towel animals all week even tho i left tips every day!!

oh also breakfast in the windjammer shuts at 9am that morning (although stilll seemed very busy when i left

  8.

Younger passengers, as the rates are more affordable for families and young singles.

Some inappropriate behavior from adults at the pool games.

    Much more drinking.

looking to do my first carnival cruise next year after only cruising RCI previously, and with the internet consensus being that this is the fun cruise line, and the second post on this thread being the above, i think i better get it booked!! :'):');p;p

  9. do you ever loose your points, i.e like if i didnt go on a RC cruise for say 3 years they would start knocking say 2 points off for every year i didnt cruise with them after the initial 3 years?

can you ring to book a cruise through the C&A phone number? and do you always get a discount? or is it just the same price as what you can see online?

logging on to C&A then clicking special offers\exclusive rates\see cruises, my browser says page cannot be displayed.

im only just platinum level anyway so dont expect anything, was just wondering, as it goes i prefer to book online rather than a call

    thanks in advance

  10. i missed mine a few weeks ago due to it being at 930am on the very first morning of the cruise (which was 1st sea day).

930? on the first morning of the cruise after having the exciting first day\night\early hours of the morning of being on the ship with a deluxe drinks package???

couldnt it keep till lunch\mid afternoon??

  11. anybody think they charge for popcorn to stop kids getting it by the bucket full even when they dont really want it and end up getting popcorn everywhere over the ship?? thats my theory :p

if the recent cruise planners ive seen of the serenade ots are correct and theres no sorrentos and park cafe shuts at midnight then ill be taking my supper from the WJ at lunch back to my room to eat early hours after the night club

  12. We sailed on Oasis again because I really love it, and a couple of months later did a round trip Panama Canal on Coral Princess. I wondered how I'd enjoy the ship itself after all the great entertainment and dining options in Oasis

DH and I both loved Coral. There was plenty to do and it had a "real ship" feeling.

I love Radiance class and am looking forward to Serenade.

Next cruise probably a big ship again.

Hopefully you'll have the same smaller ship experience we did on Coral and expect to have on Serenade.

Thanks! I'm still undecided but the free OBC offer finishes in 3 days
