  1. Win or lose makes no difference you just need to put that amount through the machine. Money bet counts and money won counts towards the points.

so actually you mean its what you stake\play rather than the physical cash you put in?

i.e i put 5 dollars in, win 500, then play that 500 back to zero, ill earn 505 dollars (staked/played) worth of points? or just 5 dollars (actual cash i put in) worth of points?

  2. Well, just checked the cruises we have booked and as usual they raised the price of the cruise to cover the OBC they are offering on the WOW sale. WOW RCCL your sales gimmicks will not fool savvy cruisers.

See with last months sale I would have got a cheaper cruise price AND obc and that would also take into account the loss of my low January deposit.

I thought with me booking early in Jan would of been the best way:(

  3. I paid £1200 for my interior room on the allure for 24th sept sailing in January only putting down a £50 deposit. I've been looking on the website since then and up until today I could have got interior rooms for around £890 and boardwalk balconys for at one point £1110. Even yesterday a boardwalk balcony was £1250 (with $300 dollars obc so taking that into account i was reckoning that works out about £1000) I looked this morning and they were still £1250 and then I've just looked and they are £1678!!!

The rc website seem so messed up I've never seen price jumps on any other holiday websites like it and 'from prices' and actually prices differ both higher and lower from one screen to the next

I'm no expert on these cruises but it seems there's loads of cabins to choose from still at the moment on my cruise?? (Last month in the SaIe if you searched carribean cruises in Sept 2017 the cruise I'm on was the only one to feature 40% off)

My plan is to cancel my booking losing my 50 deposit and book again in a better room and/or save £50- £100! Well that was at least the plan until today's massive price jump

  4. Ok. I'm guessing that's direct with Royal? If you go through Topcashback to go onto book with Royal you will get 6% cashback bringing the price down to £523 pp with the OBC. You can get a similar price through some UK agents but I cannot name them on here. Having been on Oasis last month in a boardwalk balcony I would recommend a high deck (but not 14 due to noise above) and as far aft as you can get. We were in 12319 and loved it. A boardwalk cabin will get you a free sofa package, a free meal at Johnny Rockets for 4 and a family rock climbing session. Hope this helps.

    Direct with Royal yes.

I use quidco but it is 4%.

I was looking at deck 8 but thinking its to low, there's a cabin deck 10, 10719 quite near the end, thought that would be a good view? Didn't want go 12 or 14, to high?

Would upgrading the soda package on the boat to the alcohol package work out cheaper than pre buying the alcohol package before the cruise? Or will my cruise planner know I get the soda package and minus that cost off when pre buying alcohol?

  5. The Oasis class pretty much always sail full. £884 is probably the highest I've seen for that class. I'm sure that price will drop again. However some Oasis cruises I've been monitoring for next Jan went up £200 this week.

No I was saying 884 is the lowest I've seen!! As in 442 each! Ok for a interior cabin, but just over 400 quid for a week on the allure in the Caribbean :)

  6. The just isn't any rules on this and I guess it all depends on demand. I got quoted an outrageous price by RCCl on our upcoming cruise BUT contacted Crown & Anchor and had success after several emails and now have a Junior Suite :D

I think the answer is to keep trying and email rather than ring BUT don't expect anything

i was just surprised as i dont think ive ever seen a price like 884 after months of checking before and after id booked! yes agree on demand, will it be an empty ship then? :')

  7. right, so the day after i spoke to them on the phone i checked the website again and the prices had rose again so it meant i would be paying £50 more for my balcony cabin and losing my deposit so i left it. ive just checked the website just and even though it says from £616 for an interior, when i click book now and go through i can get a interior cabin for £884!, or now a boardwalk balcony for £1112! (40% off Cruise Fare + Onboard Spend) anyone else think £884 is really good?!!

  8. Just a heads up for the OP. Last spring we monitored prices for Oasis. At the end of Jan they stopped offering the drinks package to U.K. bookers. Then, at the start of May they re-introduced it with no increase in cruise fare overnight. So we booked at that point.

Currently the U.K. bookings don't get a drinks package but if you follow last years pattern when the current offers finish on May 2nd the drinks package could very well be reintroduced for U.K bookers.

So if a drinks package is of importance then you may want to wait.

I will be definitely buying the drinks package so thanks for the heads up. the drinks package was included in the offers in Jan but not on Caribbean sailings so I only got buy one get one half price. So now your saying stay as I am and hope of an included drinks package offer in may and use the fact I can cancel only losing £50 quid then to book again with that offer?

  9. Thanks for the replies guys. I will ring again and see if anything different is said, but the lady this morning did say I've got cancel my original booking (and lose my deposit (£50)) and then do a totally new booking for the balcony cabin which will also get me the $100 obc, and she said she would happily do this for me while I was on the phone. If she'd of said to me keep my original booking but pay the extra to upgrade the room but no obc I'd of done that there and then over the phone as like I've said its works out not much difference to me how it's done I'll just be getting a better room for my money

  10. just incase anyones searches the forum for posts like this..

rang up and i cant get a discount or an upgrade, this is a new offer and i cant just switch over.

i can cancel my booking and then make a totally new booking getting the new prices\offer\OBC but will lose my deposit. i booked when it was only a £25 deposit, so i am in a position to cancel lose my deposit, make a new booking in a boardwalk balcony room and with the obc probably break even.

    thanks for the replies.

  11. thanks sandancer.

i read last night that a cancellation over 60 days will only mean a lost deposit, but yeah i did only have to pay £25 each with the january low deposit promotion.

i booked quickly in jan because id already seen my price go up £40 each and assumed like most holidays the price would only creep up as the year went on :(

  12. booked my cruise in january through the uk website and paid £592 with a £25 deposit for an interior room.

just seen on the website my cruise is now £516 for an interior room or £580 for a central park window room or £612 for a central park balcony room. these last 2 rooms come with a $50/$100 obc i think??.

looking for advice on if someones had this sort of thing before and rang them up and what the outcome was? or is it a wasted call and its just tough luck for booking early?

i was thinking maybe i could ask them to upgrade me to the window room for nothing, the balcony and pay the difference or moan about the price decrease on my interior room? maybe cancel my booking, loose my £50 deposit and then book again at £516? saving me and my GF £76 quid each minus my lost deposit, or booking one of the other rooms and not really losing out because of the $50 obc, maybe $100 on the balcony one?)

  13. Sadly I fear you are right. Two thoughts. Purchase it and make sure you really get your money's worth or save yourself but enjoy yourself and pay at the end of the cruise... I'm undecided overall but I think mrs c has opted for the package...

I always get the package and always get my money's worth. But i do like a drink :D at $12 dollars a cocktail or my vodka lemonades i'd only need 5/6 to break even each day, so that's done by mid afternoon everything afters a bonus :') and thats before my bottled water and the odd fizzy pop here and there

  14. We recently purchased packages for our next cruise @ £36 + gratuities. I think its unlikely that yours will come down any more. Although having said that last year we got ours at 20% off and no gratuities, a fluke I think as I have never seen the deal again.

    Thanks redrobo

So what's the daily rate with 20% off?

  15. I was on Brilliance earlier this month & tried to get cash from the casino on my Seapass card & they would not give it to me...only chips for the tables or a voucher for slots....so I took the voucher for slots...put it in a machine...and then hit cash out.....

I don't mind chips or vouchers if I can get them from the cashier/kiosk with my Seapass card for no fee (i.e just the straight charge 20 for 20 to my credit card from my Seapass card) it will save me taking a lot of 20 dollar bills aboard with me

  16. I am happy with that price and will book when I have the money. I do understand I can cancel and rebook if it goes lower, thanks for the replies!

The main part of my question was if anyone's ever seen it lower than that amount?, or like I say am I waiting and checking my planner regularly for a lower price than mine now that has never been seen before and is never going to happen

  17. You can also give the cashier your Seapass card and ask for cash. They will charge you a 5% fee for this unless your account is set up as a cash account.

That answers my question. Thanks for the replies I did mean 10 and 20 dollar bills.

But as I'll get charged a fee I'll take the dollar bills aboard with me

    Thanks
