If you are vaccinated. If the cruise is unvaccinated, Royal has a lot more to worry about.
If vaccinated, no need to even be tested, unless you start getting symptoms.
If I were cruising on Royal, I would be worried about an early termination of the cruise. Unvaccinated passengers mutinying over covid policy. Especially worry over not having as enjoyable of an experience of a cruise as I could have on a vaccinated cruise.
I believe a large majority of people will have been vaccinated. They won't have to do anything. The unvaccinated might, according to the CDC's own guidelines. In Europe they have been cruising for months, unvaccinated, no problems.

Royal brands are no stranger to Noro. Maybe they will do better with Covid. It is almost a given that an unvaccinated ship will be the first to have an outbreak - depending on how many passengers are unvaccinated.
Meanwhile, how are Royal customers going to react to having to go through extra hoops from testing to masks to social distancing, etc.
The CDC already stated that if you come in contact with someone who is COVID positive, you don't need to quarantine. SO why are we worrying about all of this? The covid positive is the one that needs to worry, not the whole ship.

The more ships that Carnival gets test approval for, the more ships that vaccines will not be required. It's good for the cruise lines since they will be able to generate more revenue with expanded clientele. Bad for vaccinated cruisers since masks will be needed because of the increased volume of unvaccinated cruisers. Color coded bands would be nice, but it seems like the unvaccinated minority will be making the rules.
They will work it out. We might be pleasantly surprised.

There is always a chance, but the pendulum has swung the other way for Carnival.
It is doubtful they will go opposite of Royal. They compete with families for business.

Dr. Fauci: "... we say when you get vaccinated, you not only protect your own health, that of the family, but also you contribute to the community health by preventing the spread of the virus throughout the community. And in other words, you become a dead end to the virus. And when there are a lot of dead ends around, the virus is not going to go anywhere. And that's when you get a point that you have a markedly diminished rate of infection in the community. And that's exactly the reason…of why we encourage people and want people to get vaccinated. The more people you get vaccinated, the safer the entire community is."
That's pretty much the equivalent of "going away completely".
LOL, Fauci, that is funny. One word. EMAILS. His days are NUMBERED.

Since Royal now is not requiring vaccines, CCL might not either. Everything is up in the air right now.

Until we are completely through with Covid the only common sense way for cruise lines to resume safe cruising is for both employees and cruisers to be fully vaccinated. No exceptions. If you do not want to get the shots wait till the pandemic is over.
It is never going away completely. You do realize this?

We always bring on one bottle per person ( 2 total) and no one ever says anything. I put them in the side pockets of my rolling carryon back pack in wine bottle holders.

I have heard many stories where peeps ordered alcohol bottles and it was delivered to their stateroom the end of the sailing. They had the SAME CABIN and kept it in their room and consumed it the next sailing. Nothing was ever said! Might help to tip your steward nicely!

The only thing giving me hope is that John Heald is on the July 4th cruise before this sailing. It will be my 20th anny cruise, going to Aruba where we had our honeymoon! I hope it goes!

I just called, No interior rooms on deck 8. They moved this cabin DOWN to deck 7. To move this cabin UP to deck 9 aft above us, it is $72 more and we lose $50 OBC. No thank you.

Received our new assignments. Was on Deck 8 aft ext balcony and an interior a few doors down. Now, same aft ext balcony and the interior room is one deck down mid ship. I am calling to see if they can get that interior room closer

I posted this under a different topic, but I am sure many of you have experience with it. This form is making me confused. I want to do it right. I was on the Dec 5, 2020 Mardi Gras and received the cancellation notice. When you go to the "CARNIVAL CANCELED CRUISES: OPTION FORM" There is the first portion where you pick Option 1 FCC and OBC, or Option 2 Refund. We want the FCC and the OBC (we already have a couple of other cruises booked for later on to transfer it to). Then you put in your Original Booking information. The next section has this shown here. Am I supposed to put my new booking information here or is that ONLY for if I had cancelled the cruise? I would like to do it online instead of calling and bothering the overworked call takers! Thanks. The form is here https://www.carnival.com/request-forms/cancellation-preference-v2.aspx

I hate to tell everyone this, but every cruise I have taken I have not gotten off at every stop and I have always seen a credit for port charges on my bill the last night. I cannot say for certain what it was for, but We have cruised a lot with my parents and my kids and have always seen a credit. There are always a port or two we skip.
Your first Cruise On Carnival.
