They will say there won't  be any changes to intinerary until the moment the  changes are announced.  It seems to be standard practice in most companies (and even government ) to deny any uncertainty and contingency planning until it happens.

Wait and see , but it looks like it will go somewhere.

    Exactly!

As I explained the Saga rep went away and consulted the team and then quoted that there are no further changes planned.

Ive just checked and Spirit of Adventure is no longer registered to visit Limassol.

Ok I will come and say I told you after the changes! 😅

    I still see it here:

    https://limassolcruise.com/wp-content/uploads/limassolcruise/2022/03/Cruise-Schedule_2020_2021_2022.pdf

And now i see it also here (this was updated today specifically with the change of Spirit of Adventure):

    https://www.olp.gr/en/services/cruise-terminal/item/download/8789_55c55b1d5d101fcd7cc6c9a63d62cca0

Anyways it's not the destinations only that make a great cruise. It's the people you are travelling with and the ship itself.

Interesting development with regard to the Saga website which was updated last night. Information on this cruise was unavailable for most of the evening but became accessible again in the early hours. Not only have 81 cabins suddenly become available but perhaps more importantly for us there have been no changes to the itinerary and there is no mention of visiting Limassol in Cyprus. I therefore presume that as Saga are advertising these 81 cabins on a Black Sea cruise with the current itinerary they have obviously decided not to change the itinerary in any way.  I personally feel that any cruise company taking the decision to advertise a cruise with an itinerary that might already have been changed, but not yet announced, would certainly be questionable. As to why Limassol Cruise Centre has published the fact that the Spirit of Adventure is due to visit Limassol on 7th June remains a mystery.

Because there was a request for booking. There were also requests in Greece for additional port bookings but all these can change anytime as booking is not binding to a company. I mean if they change their mind they won't pay a penalty.

Just curious, does it make a huge difference temperature wise to do a Greek Isles cruise in September vs. October?  Our anniversary is in early September, but if the temperatures are better in October, we’ll cruise then.  We aren’t beach people at all, so water temperature isn’t a concern, but we also don’t want rain.  I’m getting really tempted by itinerary 1, but I’m not sure what time of year to book.

You will find interesting that it's better to do a greek isles cruise in Spring or Fall because the places are not so crowded. If you are not a beach person then late September/early October it would be the best time for you to do this cruise!

We also were looking into these two options.  In the end, we've booked Option 1, and we are sailing this June.  Here was our analysis:

    (1) There is really not that much of a difference between the two cruises.  You are going to enjoy either of them.

    (2) Istanbul is a wonderful place.  There are so many things there to see and do.  How can one spend just a few hours seeing it?  That would be akin to spending a day sightseeing Paris, or New York, or California.  It just would not do it justice.  We decided to skip Istanbul and agreed to spend a week in Istanbul some other time.

    (3) I was not overwhelmed at the options at Volos.  The only thing there to see (that is worthwhile traveling across the globe for) is Meteora.  Meteora is a great place, but it is a very long drive from Volos: ~2 hrs each way.

    (4) We wanted to see the Ionian Islands, which Option 2 skips.  Ionians are very much different from the Dodecanese and Cyclades.

    (5) In the end, Option 1 is a much more of a Greek Island tour than Option 2.  If you are interested primarily in Greek Islands, go with 1. To wit, Option 1 gives you six Greek Islands, whereas Option 2 only three. Moreover, Option 1 gives you islands from three different island groups (Ionians, Dodecanese, and Cyclades), whereas Option 2 gives you only two.

Anyway, please let us know how you decided.

If you need any info about Kefalonia island I would gladly help you! Greetings from Greece!

True that option 1 is the ultimate greek islands cruise (Ionian: Kefalonia & Corfu, Cyclades: Mykonos & Santorini, Dodecanese: Rhodes & Patmos). If instead of Kusadasi had Crete (either Iraklion or Chania) it would cover all major greek islands. But they do it for logistics reasons (the visit to Kusadasi- one place must be out of Greece so the company pays less).

Yea but I am pretty sure the Orkney call is an old call from the former planned TA. She is also booked on 19 May 2022 since 1 year in Le Havre but then they modified the TA and the Le Havre call to 07th May 2022. So let's wait and see where we will find Getaway after the 14th June..

So again we have no clue! 😛

Would be interested in Azura's planned itinerary from Malta during July & August, if you have time. Many thanks.

Same ones like in 2023 but with one new itinerary going to Taranto, Corfu, Kefalonia & Catania!
