  1. Hi all!

We leave tomorrow to embark on the Summit this Saturday, November 8th. I know many CC members have upcoming cruises on the Summit, so I wanted to collect questions and inquires now so I can collect the info each of you are interested in. For full disclosure, I'm only Select (so will not be taking advantage of Elite cocktail hour, etc. but will ask questions), am staying in an RS, are on Select dining, and gave not purchased a beverage package (yet).

Ask anything and I commit to finding info for you!

  2. Since you haven't sailed since the program started, it makes sense you haven't gotten an email yet. No telling the future, Celebrity is just starting to ramp up the suite program. Who knows, Michael's could go away, but once they give it, it's harder to take away.

    Happy sailing,

    Jenna

I'm in an RS on Saturday and have still not received an email. In fact, I sent an email this morning (so, 12 hours ago) and no reply yet either. I was hoping to book and have this taken care of before we left home, but doesn't look like it may happen as intended. Oh well - hopefully I won't have a problem on board!

  3. That would be preferable to just seeming to ignore the note. IMHO, A well run company would log each incoming note and require a response. Doesn't appear that celebrity tracks incoming issues....

And now I know why some companies use those. I HATE those auto-generated emails with the passion of a 1000 flames. Now getting on my soap box, but interesting that some people do like those. Can't please everyone, I guess!

  4. Email sent to this address also-thanks for the info. It's really sad because each day that goes by without any reply just adds to the bitter feelings we have. We will get over this but will not go back on the Summit or M class ships again. I know Celebrity doesn't care, they got their money from us but it will be the last time....

I'm not sure I understand? You won't go back on Summit/M Class and/or Celebrity. What do you want them to do then? Send an auto-generate email that says they received your email and will review it?

  5. I hope we get treatment more like this on our upcomming cruise. My feeling is they may have tightened up a bit since Spring. We sailed late summer. We'll see if it is inconsistent, or an evolution.

    Happy sailing,

    Jenna

Jenna, you will be happy to know that I read about another ship's Michael's Club allowing drinks to be taken out of it as recently as last month. Looks like this is specific to Summit, or more specifically, Jolie. I guess she is still on board Summit too :(

  6. Classy what is the credit card discount? I booked the drink package on our Dec cruise, because we like the other bars especially the Martini Bar . I used my RCCL Signature Visa card, but I did not get a discount of any kind (?), I was told it was only for Elite plus and above 10% off. Please share if I was told wrong.

    Hi There!

Sorry it took me so long to see this. I'm not sure about the card you mentioned, as I have a Celebrity Sigature Preferred Visa. They may be the same - I just don't know! That said, if you call in advance to the phone number provided (it's the Captain's Club) and purchase through them at least seven days before the cruise, they verify the credit card and give the discount while paying with that card over the phone. It doesn't work when you purchase via the internet or anyone else at Celebrity. There is a beverage package discount and also one for specialty dining.

    Does that explanation make sense?

  7. My experience in Michaels Club was they would get your drink for you. They stock plenty of wine, vodka and scotch. I like craft beer and they did not have much there but were willing to grab some and have them available for me so they got some dogfish head the next day.

But if you are in Royal Suite, with new perks in April, you get drink package in top of Michael's anyway.

Thank you!! Just the type of info I was hoping for! :D

  8. I don't see the need to purchase a package if you have access to Michael's Club. you can get virtually whatever you want there. If they don't have it they will try to get it for you. You can take drinks from MC and so you can take one to dinner or if you want to join friends outside MC. The door is kept unlocked and you can take bottled water, iced teas, soft drinks from the cooler anytime you wish. Been in MC for 2 cruises and so far never had a problem. A package will expand options, but unless you are a heavy drinker it would most probably be a savings to pay for any drinks outside MC.

That is exactly the type of info I was looking for, as this is my first cruise since the conversion of Michael's club. Thank you Orator, and thank you to all the replied! :D

  9. Using just the numbers for the specialty dining costs and the drink packages for two people, I get $2226.40 as the value for both on an 11 night cruise. I'm not sure the internet packages costs, so I can't help you with that part of your question specifically, but is it's $375, then you will literally break even.

Of course, all that said, that is just the rough dollars and cents of it all. What is the larger balcony and the extra space/design of the suite worth to you? Are the amenities even ones you would purchase?

Either way, you really can't lose here! ;)

  10. Hi all!

We will be on the Celebrity Summit in a few weeks and I'm trying to decide if we should/need to purchase a beverage package now (and save money with the credit card discount) or just forego it for this cruise. After weighing the pros and cons, it's basically going to come down to what is available in Michael's Club for us. I drink wine, craft beer, vodka, and fruity drinks every now and then. BF likes craft beer, red wine, and scotch. Obviously we won't be drinking every drink in there, but if we end up being able to consume a few each afternoon/evening, then the other drinks we purchase outside of Michael's club will not make it worth our while to purchase the package on such a port intensive cruise.

For any that have sailed recently and have info, I'd love to hear it!

    Thank you!

  11. Hi all!

The BF is a HUGE military history buff and would love to do a tour that focuses on the US Invasion and similar history of the island. Of course, we would like a little bit about the spices, beautiful scenery, etc as well. Has anyone done a tour like this? Who on the island would you recommend? We are fine booking a private tour or doing one with a smaller group.

    Thank you for your insight!

  12. G&A just started a big push with brand awareness and sending product samples with monthly beauty subscription boxes. In 3 of the 5 I subscribe to, I have recieved 3 different product line kits. They are all different from one another and in my opinion, just ok.

  13. Hello Classy! Thank you and I hope our cruising paths cross one day.

Haven’t been to San Diego in years but enjoyed it very much when we were there.

Anyhow, hopefully I don’t get into trouble for saying glowing and complimentary things.

As do I! :D As for the 'nice comments', don't worry, I won't tell anyone...lol!

  14. So funny you said that because my 14 year old voted for Normandie! But we missed out going to Qsine when on the Reflection (opted for Lawn Club instead), so I thought we should try it as our included night. But I'm hoping if we decide to do Normandie as well, we can get a last minute reservation.

Oh, I would love that high carb breakfast also. I gain the pounds just looking at it. My goal is to do some major Bermuda walking/swimming so I can enjoy all of the high carbs I want!

Another option, on a Sea Day, would be to try Normandie for lunch! Usually offered on one of the later sea days, it's a very nice way to experience it and at a less expensive upcharge as well! Your butler will be able to tell you upon embarkation if it will be offered and when, should you be interested. He will be able to get you on the list right away.

  15. Thank you cruise stitch. I'll call them tomorrow.:)

Just an FYI - the certificate you purchased is actually considered a booking you have made. If you look at the top, you will even see a booking number assigned and the date info to say TBD.

    Hope that helps! :-)

  16. Muffins, bread, cookies, NO!

Boxed cereal should be OK in most countries

wheat, sugar, nuts, ..... All are agricultural products[/

I took a couple of the peanut cookies off the ship in my handbag, I was going to take them to the cabin and forgot they were in my bag, I ate them off the ship, I never gave it a thought, are they not allowed, if so why, how can something coming from my bag being eaten by me harm ? Just wondering what the rules are for ?

This cannot be a serious question.

  17. The “Nj Vibe(which I said nothing bad about) ” was a huge positive and it confirmed the stereo type of NJ being a bastion of niceness, politeness, good humor, people who say hello to one another, people who drive more courteously than anywhere else, a state that people are clamoring to move into, and not out of, a place that’s an example for transparent and clean government with minimal corruption, cost of living that is affordable for all, people who were exceptionally nice to the crew compared to pax from other regions, and people who had the sunniest, happiest, most contented disposition I’ve ever, ever seen.

Celebrity should charge a premium just for this privilege because it adds an element of happiness and cheer to a cruise.

Folks on this very thread are living proof why NJ consistently tops all national surveys as “happiest place” or “most polite” place and never ever is on top of the “rudest places to live” surveys. It’s also a hub of economic growth as all studies show businesses clamoring to set up shop there too.

    Jersey Strong!

I am literally crying right now. I love your sense of humor.
