I'll let you know after our August cruise, Russell21. I expect it will be the same as on Sun and I'm 95% certain there was a shaver outlet in the bathroom there. We actually had no problem with our travel power board (two USB ports and two sockets) on that cruise.
Thanks for that JJJ.
-
I can't recollect for Dawn, but for shavers there's usually another outlet in the bathroom.
Thank you, this is what I was hoping for.

We're going on the Dawn Princess in November, and I was reading somewhere that the only Aus power points were behind the TV and somewhere equally obscure.
I'm wondering how I'll get on with my electric shaver, especially if I can't take a short extension cord.

How slack are the P&O staff not enforcing the dress rules, more so how slack are the pax disobeying the dress codes, did someone say that word..Bogan?
Enough said.
Well speaking as one who, due to their occupation, was dressed in formal attire as a matter of course during their working day, I can say that "smart casual" is as formal as I dress since I retired.
I no longer own a suit nor a single tie, I donated them all to Vinnies Boutique the day after I retired.
Should I be denied entry to the dining room at any time I am quite happy to eat at the buffet, my money my choice as I no longer dance to another's tune.
Don't even whisper bogan in this case.

I've only paid the deposit on our November cruise with Princess, and our cabin has been allocated already.

Apart from the fact that I'm a Type 2 Diabetic now, I only eat plain full fat yoghurt. When I could eat the flavoured junk I never found one I liked, too artificial for me.
-
I prefer Tamar Valley Greek Yoghurt, it's available in normal or low fat. Good and thick.
-
It applies in Australia. The one you are allowed to take on board must be consumed in your cabin.

that is a big jump from free to $5.00 to have an icecream after lunch every day LOL.... sometimes 2  ....
I rather put that money to a cocktail :D
I'll drink to that. :D

We're doing the 4 hour Lanarch Castle and city tour in November.
-
They are my choice.

We're on the Dawn Princess in November but the lack of free ice cream won't bother me, I'm a diabetic.
-
We are first time cruisers and I expected there to be more than just 1 other poster on the roll call for our cruise in November.
-
Only the terminal stations are semi-circular, the other stations are pass through.

You have to love the Gold Opal Card, we give ours a workout. Why drive from the Central Coast to Dapto to visit SWMBO's Brother when we can do it relaxed for $2.50 each, each way.:D
-
If you only have a short stay in Sydney I would also recommend the River Cat ride up to Parramatta. This trip, as well as the Manly trip, will show you just how extensive and beautiful Sydney harbour is.

thanks David, we are cruising NZ in January on Explorer of the Seas. My favourite wine comes from the Marlborough Region - Giesen Brothers! Do you know if there are any tours from Picton port that will take us to the Giesen Cellar Door or the Winery?
Otherwise we can hire a car from the port, do you recommend any car rental companies?
Thats not a bad drop of vino there mate, I enjoy it myself.:D

Thanks mate, yes we knew about the sale at our local Strandbags and settled on a pair of Samsonite B'Lite extra bags.
Its been a real workout for my computer doing all the research but worth it in the end.
Thanks to everyone for their help.

It has helped me out as well, I'm on the Dawn Princess 24th Nov.
-
Thanks for the feedback folks.
Has anyone tried or seen the Qantas range, we are quite interested in the large Qantas Narita bag at about $150.00.
-
Strandbags have a store in the local shopping centre and the Flylite soft luggage is reasonably priced and has a 15 year warranty so it must be reasonable quality. Will have a look at the range next Friday shopping day.
-
Looking for the type of luggage that is preferred, hard or soft?
Up until now we have borrowed soft luggage for flights but now we are going cruising we have decided to buy our own.
What's the stuff at Paddy's Market in Sydney like? OK or rubbish?

I'm lucky, my TA is a family member.:D

We have never had to claim but still get insurance. Now approaching the magical 70 and find fewer insurers will give cover for over 70 or at extra cost, so will have to shop around again.
Good point to make sure you have emergency ship medical evacuation even if young. Unfortunately accidents do happen. You can ring the insurer to clarify.
I'll be 71 when we take our cruise and Insure & Go are quite happy to insure us even though both my wife and I have several existing medical conditions. They will ensure anyone up to 100yo.
White Bay ferry service

Very strange, I was under the impression this thread was about White Bay transport but I seem to have stumbled into a private conversation.
